Christian should now go back to Waterproof Blonde theme

This is just my opinion..

It hasn't been official yet but it seems that Christian has become a "HEEL" already..

so i propose he goes back to his heel theme before he left the WWE for TNA.. Waterproof Blonde's version of Just Close Your Eyes - which in my opinion is better than Story of the Year's

I hope the WWE does this..

What do you think???

He used to come out to THAT version?? I had no idea, and I was a big peep before he left.

And no, I don't think it would be a good idea. In my opinion Christian never had the lucky draw when it comes to a theme music, but his current version is at least more energetic than the Waterproof Blonde one, which is way too soft and mellow.
The current song at least has that "GO!!!" in the beginning, which is kinda cool.

I wouldn't mind Christian getting a new music, now that he is a heel, though. Something that reflects his newfound determination. He has finally licked championship blood and liked the taste of it. Give him something that shows that drive and obsession.

I've thought he should change back since i first heard this one when he debuted on ECW.

I don't know what it is but this version just gives a heel vibe when I listen to it. I'm sure WWE has it tucked away some where and they wouldn't even have to do anything with it except take out the Words My Peeps seeing how he said he doesn't care about them anymore.

Will it happen though? I seriously doubt it but I would be happy if it did and I'm glad to see I wouldn't be the only one.

Song wise, this has to be one of the most beautiful songs to be used as an entrance theme. People praise Drew's entrance theme all the time but this song is much superior to Drew's theme in my opinion.

But I do not think that this song will be used by the WWE now. The reason is that Christian's present character as a heel is going to be vastly different from his Captain Charisma incarnation. I think that heel Christian is going to be much more meaner, darker and purposeful than the Captain Charisma of the old. Captain Charisma was a cocky goof in more ways than one who just thought that he was better than the others wihout really having much reason to think that way. The Christian of today is more vengeful and much more angrier than that version of Christian because his dreams have been so cruelly crushed by this Collosus known as Orton whom he cannot seem to defeat.

That said I do not think that his current theme would work for his heel character either. I think that an altogether new theme would be the best option for him.

When Christian returned, I was genuinely pissed that he had that song redone by Story of the Year, not just because I hate the band, but because their version is shit.

I would prefer for them to return to the WB version, but Jim Johnston has a pretty good "generic" entrance theme for Christian too. One he used for about six months and was actually one of my favorite themes ever. Some don't get the big deal, but I think it just suits him.

I agree. Christian should go back to the older version of the song because it fits a frustrated heel persona better than his current version does even if girls sing it which is an issue some people had with him using the older version. I doubt it will return though.

There's no need to go back to the old theme. He can play just as an effective heel with this one. People are putting way too much stake into a theme. Sure, sometimes it can make a huge difference, as is the case with R-Truth, but Christian doesn't need the theme change. Not only that, but during the Waterproof Blonde phase, he played a different character. This theme fits his current persona, heel or face, doesn't matter.

It's the wrestler that makes the theme, not the other way around. So, trust me, he'll make that theme sound as "heelish" as ever, just by how he'll behave. It'll work this way, there's no need for the change.

Christian has always had terrible theme music. That operatic crap when he first turned heel screamed "jobber". And every theme has only gotten worse since then. He deserves much better.

Give him a new theme. Brand new. Not the old theme. Don't redo the current theme. Give him a brand new one. Something darker, more serious, something intimidating. He's a 30 something year old man, he shouldn't come out to the pop rock crap he has now.

Might I suggest a retro approach and give him a theme with no lyrics? Too many wrestlers have lyrics in there songs now. If we're going to see a more serious Christian, then strip away the pop rock music he's been coming out to for years and just give him some ominous guitar riff. The best example I can think of is when Jake The Snake turned heel in 1991. That was a good villian theme.

I don't want to see the smarmy goofy Christian heel from 2003. He's too old for that role now anyway. At this stage in his career, if we're too take him serious as a potential top heel Champion, he can't play that role anymore. He needs to lose the smarmy smirk on his face and replace it with the cold dead stare of a guy tired of playing second fiddle to someone else. I want to see some genuine anger and frustration from him. He can play that role well. I hope they let him. And I hope they find the appropriate music for him too.

I really liked that version better but that should stay with the post E&C/pre TNA Christian. He's changed so much since 06. I don't mind his new theme at all, but a new one would be pretty cool. The 06 version went with his cocky, IC champ, Tomko hanging, asshole gimmick. His new theme was ok for a return because it was a more grown up version for a more matured Christian.

If you don't like the Waterproof Blonde version of "Just Close Your Eyes" you just didn't get Christian when he first became Captain Charisma. That song takes me back. Images of him in his hood jump suit with Tomko by his side. Too bad WWE fucked that up back then. He was way over as a heel. Despite being a heel the "peeps" truly existed back then.

The song wouldn't work for his new persona, but I have to admit I've had the same thought about going back to that song.
