Chips and Salsa rule

Excellence of Execution
So, before I met my girlfriend, I used to avoid Mexican restaurants not named Taco Bell or Taco John's like I avoid the plague and ugly girls. However, one of my girlfriend's favorite places to eat is El Torero's, and a new restaurant opened on Main Street of my town with a pop. of 4000 people called Las Brizas. It's a Mexican restaurant if you can't figure that out.

Since then, I have gotten to the point where I love going to Mexican restaurants, simply because I CRAVE the free salsa and chips they serve before dinner. I can't explain why, but I love that stuff. Like, right now, I really want some chips and salsa. I can't get enough of it.

So, have you ever been introduced to a food and become almost addicted to it overnight?

piri piri chicken. had it in leeds and it is great. i love hot food and this was HOT!!! there's a restaurant in belfast now that does it and i'm going at some stage.

Free chips and salsa rules all! No way you pass that up. I've debated going to Carlos O' Kelly's for lunch just to order a sandwich and a drink, merely so I could load up on free chips and salsa.

Whenever I go to Chili's or Gator's I order chips and salsa with my drink(s) to start, while we're waiting for our main meal.

As far as a food that I became instantly addicted to...

Sirloin steaks. Seriously never had one before two years ago. Since then, anytime I order any type of steak thats always it.

I love Mexican food! I don't know if it's a national chain or just found in PA, but there is a phenomenal Mexican restaurant called El Rodeo that has just the best food. Free chips and salsa as soon as you sit down and the food comes out so fast. It's sooooo yummy!!!

Mexican food is great. I love chimichangas more than almost anything. As for a food I got addicted to quickly, I didn't have a waffle until I was 17. Now I go through a box a week.

I completely agree w/ you on the chips and salsa they are possibly the best combo of foods next to mac and cheese and even then it might still be better. I know that KFC is not what it used to be but I work right next door to one and I had one of those Chicken/ Potatoes/ Gravy bowls? If you ever went there you know what I mean. But those things are honestly the most addicting things I have ever eaten. Its to the point that I literally just put that into my weekly budget anymore its unreal...

I love Salsa Con Queste. Try it. It's a thick cheese dip with salsa and Mexican spices in it. Eat with Tortilla chips.

It IS even > salsa.

I love salsa too, but here is the question.

Mild
Medium
Hot

I can only deal with the mild. LOL, I know I sound like a wimp. :)

Chips and salsa definitely do rule, but it's annoying when you go out to buy salsa that there's only "Mild" and even on the rare occasion that you do find "Hot" then it's not even spicy.

Um spicy to the point that it makes you sweat, and sometimes its not even fun to eat were im from LOL.

Down in Texas too. They put WAY too many onions and nasty shit like that into salsa up here. less disgusting veggies and more peppers and spices please

Not a lot of spicy foods make me sweat, but I'd love to try that kind of salsa. The last time I actually ate something that was REALLY spicy was this tiny pepper resembling a habanero.

And onions are awesome, but not in salsa. That's pretty digusting. Is it all in chunks or something?

Can someone please explain to me the appeal of spicy food? Why again do I want to eat something that is going to hurt my throat/tounge?

Yea. They make mexican try to taste like fucking seafood out here or some shit. Its supposed to be comprised of met, cheese, tortilla and bean. Not fucking lettuce onions and veggies. Northeast coast mexican food is laborious.

If you look in a mexican resturants kitchen,, and see someone with a name tag that says "daiquan" or "Shaniqua" , or hell, even a name tag at all, your pretty much fucked. Hence why Northeastcoast Mexican food is fucked

Thats the thing I say about sour food. Completely beyond my comprehension.

Things that hurt are painfull. true story.

Painfull = not fun

Because it's delicious. There's just not enough spicy food in America. Hot sauce is always sour, not hot. People somehow think that bell peppers are actually spicy.
