I never saw him say that Muslims will go to hell. I saw him say Muslims are bad, and that Jews are ok and will go to Heaven.

So, unless another mod edited it, he didn't say they would go to hell.

it was paraphrasing the OTHER offensive thing he said, in that all other religions follow false gods, and would be going to hell.

As I do see your point, Sly, I have to argue; can you really reform something that's so deeply rooted in just a week? The next time a religion debate starts up there's no saying he won't let loose another comment like that. Maybe a perma-ban isn't right, but a 1 week ban on top of a short prison sentence seems to lax too me.

Maybe not, but at least there are no gray areas of what is allowed. He knows that if he says that again, he's gone for good. It's not like any of us will forget this anytime soon. Maybe he never even realized what he was saying was that bad.

Maybe he will say the same thing again when he gets back. But maybe he won't. Maybe he was just a young kid, reacting in the heat of the moment.

Are our skins so thin that we can't handle the thought of what may happen?

We don't have to reform him of his religious beliefs, just what he puts onto these forums. He's entitled to believe whatever it is he wants to believe. I think to try and deny him that right would put you on the same level he is.

He can believe what he wants. The question is will he be able to stop himself from taking those beliefs, and spouting them off on a public forum. I don't think it would be that hard.

What about a mercy-perma banning? At this point I find it doubtful that anyone on this forum will ever listen to any of his opinions on any topic ever again. He'd be better off not coming back here, because I'm sure some people will still have things to say about him even worse then what I did.

I know I won't ever take anything he has to say seriously again until he at the very least admits he was wrong about a few points of our argument. I don't in any way want him to say that God doesn't exist and that the Bible is full of shit, I just want him to acknowledge the fact that you can't believe in some science, and then say other science is a lie.

And it's not really just him spouting those beliefs, maybe he'd actually listen and learn to back them up as well as possible while being accepting of what others believe.

There were times when he would actually backpedal and admit he was wrong abut something but I think when he got more frustrated, he'd just fall back into his old tirade because that was easier for him.
