Can someone clear this up for me?

I watched wrestling from 1993-2000. I took a break because I felt the WWF was going a direction that I didn't really care for. I started watching again in 2006. The question I have is this: Why is there problems between HHH and Chris Jericho? They are both great performers and could draw huge in my opinion. Did something happen because I heard HHH wouldn't lose to Jericho or something along those lines.?.

your a loser slam master! you didnt like the invasion angle! that besides stonecold rock was the best thing in wrestling history! my opinion tho is that jericho and trips dont get along due to the fact jericho abandoned the company to "find himself". i don't agree with hhh but no dout thats why hhh and jericho dotn get along... chris still is one of the top draws in the buisness and should stay heel. they gotta make cena a heel soon enough!

Then when jericho returned in 2007, Triple H resented the whole "save us" campaign Jericho had going. I heard stories of him mocking jericho backstage, calling him the savior of the WWE and whatnot. There probably is a lot more to that, but that's all i've ever heard of it.


actually on second though, when triple H tore his quad in 2001 during a match with Jericho, he still locked him in the Lion Tamer. Perhaps jericho was told by H that he was hurt and Jericho still went a little too rough with the move. perhaps He still resents him for that, I am not sure though. Thats about the closest thing to an answer I've got for ya, hope i helped.

I never really believed any of it. I mean, Trips has an issue with puttin people over, so it wouldn't surprise me if Jericho was on that list. But I usually take backstage stories with a grain of salt. I suggest you do the same.

I agree a lot with this previous quote!!!! For some reason, it's well documented that HHH does not like JERICHO. HHH did mock Jericho's "Save Us" return. I never heard the part about Jericho going rough with HHH during the match where HHH got hurt though. It may be true, but I PERSONALLY THINK that Jericho is simply on HHH's "dislike list." Hey take a look at others on the list: Booker T, RVD, Spirit Squad, and the list goes on.

Think back. HHH could have made Jericho, RVD, and Booker all bigger stars at the time...but he didn't. I recall DX making the Spirit Squad look stupid...and then the Spirit Squad disappeared. How is it that WWE could build the Spirit Squad up to simply have 2 old wrestlers beat them up!!! SILLY ain't it!!! HHH ain't old old, but you get the point.

Could all of you PLEASE get off your soapbox about HHH controlling his storylines?!? While he may make efforts to pitch stories to Vince and the writing team, it's ultimately Vince's decision of who goes over who in matchups.

Yes, but we all need to put the "blame" on the proper person. It's very easy and convenience to blame HHH for all of this. But remember, he isn't the only one that pitches ideas to Vince and gets the nod.

D-man is right about that, Vince is the one ultimately to blame here. Triple H is only guilty of doing what most guys back there would likely do, were they in his fortunate position. I personally can't fault the guy for that.

Think about it fellow posters, If we had Vince interested ear in on the ideas we all throw out on this site, knowing there was a strong chance of them coming to fruition. Wouldn't we all throw out any and every "quality" idea we had in our heads? H isn't to blame for Vince's favortism, his only crime is being a bit of an asshole, and thats not a crime, especially not in the wrestling buisness. if anything, it's a big part of what got him where he is today.

Before I answer your question I wanna say that during the six year hiatus that you had from watching wrestling... you miss a whole lot. The ending of the Attitude Era, the farewell of WWF, the introduction of the WWE, Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit finally winning the World Championship, Randy Orton becoming the youngest World Champion in history, the untimely death of Eddie Guerrero, and many, more more... the list is endless.

Now, back to your question... I'm not exactly sure if I know the exact answer. I don't think Triple H and Chris Jericho ever had a long, well planned out feud. Sure, they've had several matches in the past, but no real fued. But I think the most simple reason would be: Triple H just doesn't like Chris Jericho. Triple H is the type of guy who seems to pay attention to all the superstars in the back. If he sees just one thing that he doesn't like, he will not be scared to confront them. In the past, HHH has criticized the likes of Randy Orton, Carlito, Jeff Hardy, and even Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon himself.

I'm not sure what beef Triple H has with Chris Jericho. Maybe he's been holding a grudge against Y2J for tearing his quadricep in 2001. Maybe he doesn't believe Jericho deserves to be put over him.There could be any reason, but I'm not 100% sure what it is.
