Burn Notice

Best episode of the season so far. It's a shame the show is ending, but where else could they goa/ Only Jesse truly feels fresh, and his rapport with Sam is some of the best stuff on the show. The two of them working as bounty hunters after Mike made for some lighter faire on the show, and Sam feigning shock at Jesse's "death" before "dying" himself was truly funny.

Is there anyone else who hopes Mike and Fiona don't wind up together? He made a deal to protect her, from jail we find out in this episode, and she still, instead of seeming the slightest bit grateful, wants nothing to do with him ever again. Part of me hopes he winds up with Sonya, the "key" to everything, whom good ol Bruce sacrificed himself to save last week. She just seems to have that badass quality that Fiona aims for, yet hasn't used her sexuality to get what she wants, like Fiona constantly tries to.

But alas, Carlos will prove to be a central piece to the mystery of all of this, bad of course, and Fi will run back to Michael in the finale, with him embracing her with open arms, his priorities finally straight. Because taking on this mission to keep her and the rest of his merry crew out of jail wasn't enough, I suppose.

Good episode this week.
Jesse and Sam have spectacular moments on screen together. So funny. It'll be interesting to see how Sam, Jesse, Fiona, and Michael all interact now that everyone is back in Miami.

I still don't know where Sonya will go as a character -- could end up turning on Michael -- but I don't think she ends up with Michael. As strange as Fiona has been this season, she didn't know what Michael did for her (and all of them); it seems fitting that Fiona and Michael end up together and they all go back to handling local cases in Miami, even if it might be on the cheesy side.

They actually gave us a preview for this week, rather then "On the Final Season of Burn Notice", so maybe it's just that, but I'm excited. Looks damn intriguing.

Nor do I, wishful thinking, I suppose, but I highly doubt she turns on him, unless she has someone pulling her strings.

She could have shot him the moment she got the jump on him when they first met.

But when she found out, she seemed no less angry. She had loved Michael for so long, I could understand before. But now? Shock would have been more appropriate, I thought.

And cheesy is what USA shows do best. No dark endings. Monk got his wife's killer and found out he had a step-daughter. Psych, as much as I love it, has been 7 years of cheesiness, for the most part. White Collar with the Bomar/DeKay bromance is a lot of cheese, although I dig the show quite a bit.

Suits, which got damn compelling in Season 2, is the only USA show that's truly strayed from that.

Paraphrasing:

"Send out the man with the chin." :lmao:

I doubled over at this. They should have made his chin a running gag before just last year and the Patton Oswalt arc.

She didn't know. Fiona did not know Michael did that to protect her, it was mentioned on this week's episode.
That's what I was referencing. She knew the vague " I did it to protect you", that we all saw at the conclusion of last season, but until Thursday, that's the extent.

And yet her reaction still seemed one of anger when she found out, both at Michael and the CIA. Understandable that she would be angry with them, I suppose, since both Card and Reilly tried to have the four of them killed.

Gabrielle Anwar is a fine actress. I just don't like the Fiona character.

What I'm hoping, more than anything else, is the last episode of the series comes back full circle to the first. In the last episode, I want Michael to use his spy skills to help some Miami innocent. I miss that part of the show.
I miss that as well. And the yogurt he'ld accept as payment. Not one mention of yogurt yet this season. Things are much more serious this year, hence the 'darker' music we get in the credits.

The more they try to distance Fiona from Michael, the more I think it is a ruse. I am getting convinced that Fiona is doing it as part of a larger plan, and that it will all make sense at the end somehow.

In regards to Michael helping some of the innocent bystanders he used to, this kinda reminds me a little bit of the last season of the A-Team, where they we obligated into doing suicide missions for Gen. Stockwell. But in the penultimate episode, they realized soon enough that tenure would be over, and they're qualified as being soldiers of fortune. I see Michael possibly becoming more of a PI of sorts with his skills, but not necessarily working with the CIA again. But perhaps it's best that him and Fiona stay apart; I'm not expecting them to reconcile.

I think he'll find, as he's shouted on more then one occasion:

"I want my life back!"

Isn't truly what he wanted at all since he reconnected with Maddie and Fi, and started doing jobs and made true friends in Sam and Jesse, something he never really had before. I'd be disappointed if he stays with the CIA after all the crap they've done to him, he's too strong a character to put up with it.

But perhaps it's best that him and Fiona stay apart; I'm not expecting them to reconcile.
Gosh, I hope you're right.
