Brodus Clay - Why Hasn't He Debuted?

I think that it will be a surprise debut. They had been mentioning his name for a few weeks but this week no reason was given for him not debuting even though it was advertised. WWE is playing it really smart here. They are letting him slip out of the memory of fans. Even most IWC members have started thinking that it is just one of those things that WWE promotes and fails to follow up. And then when you are least expecting it, BAM! Brodus Clay will debut. For all we know he could be the guy that ends up giving ADR the victory over CM Punk this Monday.

Or you know, with everyone expecting Brodus to be a heel, you could throw a curveball and have him debut as a face by helping Punk get the victory instead of ADR. I would loe to see that happen but I guess the chances are slim as Raw already has too many faces.

Here's my prediction: This could happen next week, the week after, or we could be waiting several weeks longer. But Brodus Clay will eventually debut, and it won't be during a match that he is booked in. There will likely be a match involving two people who seldom or never appear on the two major shows (i.e. Trent Barreta vs. Curt Hawkins). They will compete for perhaps a minute, if that. Then Brodus' music will hit, he will rush the ring, and destroy both of them. At this point, he will be sick of all the delays, so he will just take the initiative to make an impact on his own. Doing so might make him a face (since he is defying the will of John Laurinaitis), or it might now. But he is the first legitimately huge competitor to show up on WWE television in some time, so it wouldn't surprise me if this is the technique they use to get him over.

I agree with this. Most of it. I think it would be great for Brodus to run in and destroy someone because he is frustrated his debut keeps getting pushed back. There should be no mistake though that he is heel when he does this. Also I think he should target someone much higher up the WWE ladder than Hawkins and Barreta. I was hoping for an attack on Big Show at Survivor Series. Destroying Big Show in MSG during one of the biggest shows of the year would have been a great debut. He should attack someone high on the card so we know he means business and state that he is far too important to keep getting pushed to the background.

I'm actually hoping he can be built up strong from the start and possibly challenge Taker at mania. I know that sounds crazy but Brodus is a beast and has a great look. There was a time when he would have been a natural opponent for Taker. If he's built properly from the start, which seems to be very difficult for WWE these days for some reason, a match with Taker could be intriguing.

Wow, you guys must not be able to remember much. Brodus Clay has already debuted.
This thread should be renamed to "Why hasn't Brodus Clay RETURNED"

LOL, exactly!!! I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they just began watching WWE tv : ) otherwise WAKE UP..

I think the only reasonable answer to the unexpected delay is probably a failed drug test. It just so happens to coincide with others we've heard about recently.

I'm not big on him at all. When this 400 pound guy showed he had the weakest punch of the NXT contestants (even guys hundreds of pounds lighter) it sealed the deal for me. I can't take him seriously as a "monster". A lot of that is WWE's , and more specifically, NXT's fault. Why have events that expose hopeful future stars? Putting guys out there and asking them to talk about flowers for a minute IS NOT GOING TO BUILD STARS. Never, evvver : ) would great wrestlers of the past even partake in that sort of thing.. Can anyone imagine bruiser Brody, Muraco, steamboat, snuka, orndorf doing absolutely ridiculous things like this? One more 'vent' about Brodus and NXT. During a challenge they had to climb a short wall and push a heavy utilities truck to show agility and strength. When smaller guys went they did BOTH the wall and the test of strength by pushing the truck. NONE OF THEM SIMPLY WALKED AROUND THE TRUCK TO SHOW SPEED OR SOME RIDICULOUS EXCUSE. Yet Brodus pushed the wall over, as if to say "I'm a big guy and big guys dont do that"... I wish WWE would've said, "YOOO Brodus, get your fat as- back and climb the wall you walrus"... yeah, I don't like him as a wrestler much.

I thought that Brodus was gonna show up at Survivor Series and cost CM Punk the title but he didn't. Now, I'm leaning towards him showing up next week although I sincerely hope he doesn't interfere with the AdR-Punk rematch just to give the title back to Del Rio.

What I would expect from him assuming he does debut next RAW:
He destroys someone to make a statement. That's always the way to bring in a monster, but who? Well, John Morrison is heavily rumored to be on the way out so it makes sense if he gets his ass handed to him as he leaves to serve as a stepping stone for an incoming wrestler and it's a good way to write Morrison out of the WWE.
Sheamus took out Jamie Noble and Mark Henry mauled Kozlov as well.

This whole Brodus Clay thing has become such a monumental cock-up that it's laughable. It's one thing when they do the whole promoting a debut thing, but when they actually give you a defined date for when a competitor will arrive and a month later they still haven't shown... You've fucked it up royally.

The only scenario I can see which gives this ANY dignity now is debuting him as a face, destroying someone like Ziggler as a protest against Laryngitis. If Brodus comes in as a Laryngitis lackey, that's him basically just saying "Yeah, he stopped me from debuting for a couple of months but I'll still do his bidding." Basically makes him into a gigantic, snarling, roaring, monstrous bitch.
