Brodus Clay Set to Return to RAW Supershow...Next Week

As many of you may have noticed, Brodus Clay is scheduled to return to the WWE next week on WWE Raw Supershow. With weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks and week of hyping his return, it seemed like he'd never come back, however, Brodus Clay's return is set. And I have so many questions to ask.

In case some of you don't know, Brodus Clay is an amazing wrestler, especially for someone of his size. He's got a mean ass look and can definitely talk good. But I can't help but to wonder, why Raw? Raw is already filled up with a pretty full main event scene and their midcard is somewhat good. I want Brodus to go beyond the shitty midcard division that is the WWE's. Instead, why not have him debut on Smackdown where he can be a serious threat to Henry's World Title reign? It would take some buildup but Brodus could do it. I don't want him to be completely buried on Raw. I don't want to look back five years from now and wish the WWE had done something with Brodus. Smackdown seems fitting. But whatevs.

Clay has been out for quite sometime for reasons I don't care and reasons I'm not really aware of. But with his return set, what does the future hold for this mammoth of a human being?

Yet another reason to bring back the European Title - test guys like Brodus out to see how they go before throwing them into the IC or US and above mix. In saying that I'm a massive Clay fan!! Liked him on NXT when he or Bateman should've won. Liked him with ADR and like the squash matches on Superstars. It depends on whether he's face or heel. If he's a face he could rise to the top quickly over Miz, Truth, Swagger and Dolph, leading up to a confrontation with ADR who dropped him when he was drafted to RAW.

Great look, very good on the mic (his NXT elimination speech was very very good) and good in the ring. Future world champ? Well I said that about JoMo and Kozlov, so I won't put my balls on the line again ha ha, but if he were to be the champ I'd be pretty happy with it. Really looking forward to this.

Just because he debuts on raw doesnt mean he will be only on raw. The supershow concept gives wwe a chance to debut him on raw but have him be more on smackdown. I have always thought he was a unique looking big guy. I am expecting multiple squash matches to get him set up. I would like to see what him and mason ryan can do, that would be an interesting match up

I don't think he's World Champion quality, and has yet to prove that to me, he needs to be interesting enough to keep interest, that includes more than being handed a monster gimmick (His vignettes show they want to make him the rookie version of Mark Henry's current gimmick).

I personally didn't see much of him when he was hanging out with ADR earlier in the year.

I don't give fresh superstars any benefit of the doubt, especially with hot potitle games going on this era, but I don't expect to see World Champion associated with him until he's put in a lot more work on a real show.

Feuds? Brodus vs Cena since Brodus was causing Cena a lot of trouble earlier in the year, and of course, Brodus vs ADR could be interesting, mentor vs student feuds are usually pretty interesting.

The little I've seen of him, I think he has potential, but his look overall makes me think of a giant Jesse Neal too much, and when I think of Jesse Neil, I go into a bias induced hate streak.

I agree completely. Why throw Clay into the Raw mix. It just doesn't make sense considering Raw is too deep and Smack-down needs all the help it can get. I must admit I have never seen a build like this in WWE, promo after promo after promo, Not with Lesnar, Rock or anyone so I just find it hard to believe that WWE would just bury him on Raw. So I hope he debuts on Raw and then immediately heads to Smack-down.

It maybe the "Super-Show" but that's in name only. Raw has been crappy lately. So Clay shouldn't even debut on Raw, have him debut on Smack-down and dominate it along with Henry for a while then have him go on Raw to face the top dog there, then that sets him up for a title shot. But don't in any way try to throw him in the lake with Raw's big fish this early. I also agree with the attire. He needs a strap that covers the boobs. Big daddy V had the same issues.

I always really liked Brodus Clay. I think he has a unique look compared to the other superstars on the locker, even compared to the other bigger guys like Show and Henry. I always really liked him because I thought he looked like Jamie Madrox from Twiztid. I hope he gets used right instead of how Henry has been used for the past like five years.

I'd rather watch paint dry. I've seen a lot of his FCW stuff and wasnt impressed with him on NXT. I usually like the monsters but Clay just makes me yawn. I don't think his look is unique, he just looks like he hasn't showered for a year.

In ring theres nothing about him that impresses me. And on the mic he seems dull. I can see him going the same as Snitsky.

Anyway, Brodus coming to Raw seems about right, Raw has little guys to beat up, where as Smackdown is a title picture consisting of monsters. If he is featured on Raw, then he can still have smackdown matches without him being considered a smackdown superstar. You don't want him to be thrown together with Henry, Show and possibly a returning Kane, too much slow man meat.

I'm guessing he is gonna be a monster Heel, I can see him teaming up with Henry well before he fights against him; if anything I wouldn't mind seeing a cross show destruction dynamic between the two; if Brodus shows promise with this new push, that could be an idea.

I'm not sure why this push is coming out mid-clusterfuck. We have 100 stories thrown together as is, maybe he ate Alex Riley and they figured it was time to let him loose.

Right now I can't tell. It's depends on how the WWE is going to book him. If he's gonna come back only to be a muscle for someone like Del Rio again then I'm not sure how far he'll go. If he's gonna come back to dominate as one of the top midcard heels then yes, I do see him going far and getting a world title in the future.

Would you rather Clay be on Raw or Smackdown?

I'd rather have him on Raw so he can get over easily and quicker. Let's face it, a lot of fans don't really watch Smackdown and consider it the B show. So Brodus being on Raw is the best thing for him. If they give his character a lot of exposure and let him be a very dominant heel then I can see him getting over in no time.

Any particular feuds you'd like to see him in?

A feud with Randy Orton would do wonders for him. Especially if he comes back by attacking Orton thus starting it. Feuding him with Orton right away is a great way to make him start off strong. Orton has nothing to do right now seeing as Cody Rhodes is on his way to feuding with Booker T so why not give him Brodus to put over? Another good feud would be John Morrison. If Morrison really is leaving the company then they should give him one last feud with Brodus Clay culminating with Brodus taking out Morrison writing him off TV for good and making Clay look like a beast.

What are your over all thoughts on Brodus Clay?

I'm a huge fan of Brodus Clay. Ever since I saw him on NXT i thought he had great potential. So then I started to watch some of his FCW work and I'm more than happy to see him get a push on Raw. Like you said, Brodus is an amazing wrestler especially for his size. Not only that but he has very good mic skills and a great, unique look. I think he has great potential to be a major player in a year or two. I've liked him ever since I first saw him on NXT and I can't wait to see what the future holds for him.

What to do with Mr Clay!! I like the idea of the Euro title being brought back i think that could do his career wonders!! Its been along time since i saw him so really i dont care who he feuds with!! He is not main event quality just yet the big monster look is just as common as the cold though!! he is needed on smackdown big time! With the draft raping smackdown heels and faces are needed big time maybe through him in there with christian as soon as his feud with sheamus ends!! I always really liked Brodus and his promos that get aired from time to time have got me interested in his return. I welcome anybody into the WWE who both has a unique look that sets them apart from the pack and is entertaining/talented at the same time. He is pretty decent for a guy his size in the ring and he can do the talking to back up his walking. I am not sure as far as him becoming World Champion right now. If he does end up on Smackdown then depending on how he debuts next week on Raw and how he is booked for the next few weeks will help me form an opinion on that. On Smackdown right now we have a huge monser Champion which would set up a great storyline for Brodus to come back..destroy a load of jobbers and mid card wrestlers then get a shot at the belt. I think beating the Bigshow would help him also...

It will take a lot to show me for anybody, Brodus included, to be considered WWE/World Title material this early in their career. Hell the book was still out on Sheamus and Swagger when they won...

Anyway, I think Brodus needs to stay a heel, although with so many anticipating his debut/return/relaunch he might get a face's reaction. This might cause trouble for WWE right now. He may need to destroy a top face to maintain the heel persona.

My opinion, whoever is the next face U.S. Champion (Z.Ryder or M.Ryan) needs to be in a feud with Clay. I think (using Ryder) that in the next month or two while Ryder is chasing Ziggler and eventually wins, Clay can lay waste to the lower mid card (Tatsu/Colon/etc..). Which will then prompt Ryder to take on the challenge.

The two can have a good series of matches elevating both talents. And if you want to move the title to Clay, then sure. If not have Ryder come out on top and then you would've made 2 stars...

I can't take Brodus seriously. Everytime I see him, I have Mike Tyson's Punch-Out flashbacks because he looks just like King Hippo.

I say put him on Smackdown. Much more guys his size that they could put him over if they want to push him. Start off with Ezekiel Jackson, then work up to Big Show and Sheamus.

Yes. He's athletic in the ring, has an incredible look. WWE seems to be really hot on him right now. I can see him getting a world title run in a couple of years, maybe a MITB winner next year.

Smackdown. I can see him moving there quite soon. Just because he debuts on Raw doesn't mean he's going to stay. It is a Supershow after all.

Christian, if my memory serves me correct when he was with ADR he got busted open really badly so he could seek revenge against him.

What are your over all thoughts on Brodus Clay?

Really liked him. I was gutted he didn't win NXT. He has the look and athleticism, not really a fan of the cross body finisher. I hope he goes back to the Tongan death grip STO.

Fuckin' kinda pumped for this guys debut. I liked what I saw of him when he was with Del Rio. The guys got a unique look and looks to be able to talk a little bit. Clay will probably end up on Smackdown, where he will feud with guys like Sheamus and lesser stars until he either shows his potential or doesn't and end up like numerous other big men. Brodus could be the next Bam Bam Bigelow though.

Brodus Clay has an unique look and he looks like a total fucking badass. I was impressed with him on NXT and I felt he should have been the winner as he is leaps better than Johnny Curtis. As for what Clay is gonna do, who knows. I look forward to seeing what the E has planned for the big man. It seems they have some plans for him as the vignettes they've been airing have been fantastic. What I hope they don't do is feed a jobber to Clay and just let him destroy him. I'd love to see him get involved with a bigger name guy off the bat and start off big. Future had a good idea with Randy Orton. It would be a great way to get him over as he'd be feuding with one of the top five guys in the company and Orton seems to be lost in the shuffle at the moment.

Hmmmm, all this talk about bringing back the European title has me thinking about something...don't bring that title back..how about the old WCW TV title? That could be a good stepping stone for someone like Clay. Have him return, squash a bunch of people...then bring that title back and put it around his waist and have him carry it for a while (since, if I remember correctly, that title was defended almost on every Nitro and such.) That would give him a load of TV time and have him built from there, rising in the ranks, weekly, until he gets a shot at one of the major titles.

As far as feuds..I'm not sure where to start here. Would I like to see him get revenge on Del Rio? Sure, but doing that quickly wouldn't be the wise option. If Morrison is indeed on the way out, you could start him there and then move on up.

They never should've split him off from ADR. Clay, ADR and RR were becoming what I thought was a nice stable. They could've added one more heel and actually made Smackdown watchable again.

I don't get what people see in Brodus, but then again I generally find most of the bigger guys to be rather boring. He was ok as Del Rio's bodyguard but I don't think I'd really want to see him do much else. He would be boring as a singles star, just about all of those big guys are. They get built up until they are fed to a top guy, then do nothing for a while until they get future endeavoured. That is exactly what I see in Brodus' future. He will probably be on Raw since the promo said he is returning there. I see him becoming an underling of Del Rio's again and thus involved in his angles, that worked before. That's better than him being on Smackdown due to the blue brand being more geared toward the in-ring product rather than promos and Brodus is nothing to write home about in the ring.

If they actually did it properly and had it defended enough to make it meaningful it could reinvigorate the lower to mid card. More people on the show actually doing something meaningful instead of pointless matches which mean nothing.
