Brie Bella is the new Divas Champ

Defeated Eve tonight on RAW to become the new champ.

I know no one really cares at all for the Divas division, and giving the Bella Twins the belt (well its technically only Brie) won't really do anything to make it more enjoyable to watch. Not to mention the stupid backstage segment after the match. Anyways...

Thoughts on the new champ?

Her winning the title means nothing. Its funny they aired Kong's vignette video the night Brie wins the divas title. I have a feeling that she will destroy Brie to become the new divas champion...and I can only hope she destroys the title belt and gets a new one that actually looks credible.

It's a complete joke that she won, but it's not surprising. You have some actual talented wrestlers like Gail Kim and she gets misused when she should be pushed. Hopefully when Awesome Kong debuts under whatever name the WWE gives her good wrestlers like Gail Kim get a push. I know both of them put on one hell of a match when they were in TNA so I'm crossing my fingers that happens this time around in the WWE.

I agree with the speculation that she's just a transitional champion to give Kong a huge debut, that'ss about the only decent ending I could see coming from this.

I would say that this title win devalued the Diva's Championship...but how do you devalue a championship that is seen as worthless in the eyes of the company's staff? And where are they even going with this?

As it was mentioned, it is pretty foreboding that the Awesome Kong vignette aired right before Brie Bella won the Diva's title. Although from the tone I got, it seems she will debut as a monster heel type (which she should). So why did Brie win the title? Is Awesome Kong just going to be one of those monster heels who demolishes everyone without caring about their face/heel status?

I won't be surprised when Awesome Kong (or whatever very lame name WWE will give her...) just demolishes the entire Diva's division like the joke they are. Hopefully that just paves the way for worthy Diva challengers to pursue the belt, such as Natalya, Gail Kim, Beth Phoenix, and even to an extent Michelle McCool who has definitely improved in the ring. Dare I even say a potential match with Tough Enough trainer Trish Stratus, arguably the best female wrestler of the last decade? But for a duo who's purpose in the last year was to accompany celebrities and help get Daniel Bryan over until Gail Kim took over that role, this title reign just makes me care even less about an already devalued Divas division.

Vince may think that wrestling fans don't care about the Divas except as eye candy, but that's insulting to ladies like Trish Stratus, Lita, Mickie James, Molly Holly, Victoria, Gail Kim, Ivory, and the many others I'm sure I'm neglecting who were both attractive and trained their asses off while, at times, giving the fans matches with more enjoyment value than some of the lower-card male matches. You can have both!

this definitely makes me think Kong will come on as a face... surprising though since you'd think she'd be a heel... Kong really should be a heel like a bertha faye or whatever those big girls names were back in the day feuding with alundra blaze (man that was a terrible name for madusa). I am hardly a fan of the divas division but the bellas are pretty entertaining.. the bellas, lay cool, nattie, melina, gail, and tamina are all pretty good and who should be the focus of the divas division oh and of course beth and kong once they come in. Bellas and lay cool should also do a little managing as should nattie for the hart dynasty who should never have broken up. I think all of those divas i mentioned can bring something to the table.

Or so I thought, giving Brie the belt is really not a great sign.

Maybe Gail Kim can take it off her and we can get the Kong V Kim feud from TNA done big time.

No Kong will NOT come as a face because she'll just be more of a heel than the Bellas. I think (well I thought this before that back stage segment) McMahon doesn't want Eve to be the diva that gets squashed first by Kong, dunno why just what I thought >.<

Surely its a set up for Kong to come out and snap them in two. The Bella's look far more like a barbie doll (whose hair has been dyed) so her first target will seem much better.

On another point I don't think tonights vignette with the doll was Kong. If you slow it down and listen to it backwards it looks like Sting, so my prediction is the Bella twins against Sting at extreme rules. The fake sting can come out and do twin magic and swerve us all, making a sting (it doesn't matter which one, although the fake sting would have to have a receeding hairline like the real sting) the new Diva's champion.

I will say Brie winning did surprise me.
I was more interested in the reaction that they gave Eve afterwards, almost heelish.

And I am reading post about how Brie is the transitional champion. She is used only so Kong can debut and squash her. etc.. I remember reading the exact same posts when Eve won the title.

The vignette this evening just before the match was a much bigger hint than Eve winning was.
Eve with a heel turn? Maybe it'll turn out as productive as Melina's heel turn.

An Eve heel turn would be hot. And I don't see Bella winning the title as such a bad thing. It's similar to R-Truth getting a title match. Someone who hasn't previously been main eventing is getting a shot. The Bellas have been getting pushed ever since the Daniel Bryan thing... the heel turn confirmed that, so this should have been a seen coming. They are the heeliest divas on the roster, maybe even moreso than LayCool, cus they've been doing backstage beatdowns. And while LayCool has this breakup angle going Bellas are kinda next in line... If Eve can be champion, one of the Bellas definitely can. I don't see what's so wrong with it.
Eve's title reign did its job, with me at least. She got my attention and with her title defenses I was beginning to take her seriously, and now when she turns heel I'll be on her bandwagon.
The Bella's being in control of the title could be fresh and interesting, since they can easily take turns wrestling matches as champion without anyone knowing better. If there was no Kong coming I could see them holding onto the titles for 2 or 3 months, like Eve.

I will go out on a limb and say that Kelly Kelly will win the Divas Championship from one of the Bella twins in the next few weeks. That way, Kong can show up and "knock the head off of the blonde" as she did in the video we saw before the match on Monday night. What better way to make Kong a heel than to have her totally demolish Kelly Kelly.

The Bellas are currently heels. There is no way the WWE would make a promo with Kong knocking the head off of a doll if their plan was to have her come in and be a face. They also could have made the doll's hair brown since the majority are brunettes anyway. They made the doll blonde, which I think is a sign. That sign points to Kelly Kelly or Beth Phoenix, but I can't see Kong squashing Beth. Beth will probably take the role of attempted Savior after Kong blows through all of the pretty faces.

I have never seen a crowd so dead for a title change in my life. Eve was nothing, Bellas are nothing, why the hell did they take the title off of Natalya again? She, along with Beth, are the only 2 Divas worth a shit in the company, and they keep them off of TV and for what? A bunch of girls that no one gives a fuck about? Natalya is better than Eve in every fathomable way, this should have been her spot. I can't wait for Kong to come in and destroy all of these useless *****.

One of the fucking Bella twins has a championship. If there was a bigger joke in history, I haven't heard it.

Why does everyone rag on the Bellas? At least they have some character, aside from just being hot! They both can also put on a half decent match, so I think it's good that Brie got the title.

PS: They should and hopefully will get a new look title when Kong wins it...something like the old womens' belt would do!

If you really wanted to get Kong over in her debut why would you want one of the Bella Twigs as champion? Eve or Natalia or Beth Phoenix would work better to get Kong over. A more impore imposing looking womens champ that Kong would squash and really push her debut. But for Kong to squash a Bella. Well, that is kind of like Andre the Giant squashing the Brooklyn Brawler.

Well, I am happy for her. She may not have work rate, but she has work ethic. Her and Nikki have worked hard the past year to improve and if you give it a shot, you'll notice it. She wore her working boots last night and everything she did looked good from an execution standpoint.

I don't think she is cut out to be a heel because she's too sweet and wholesome. Nikki is the bitchy one. haha

i am NOT a fan of Brie Bella winning the title. they might as well let Kelly Kelly hold it seeing that her wrestling skills are just as bad as Brie's are. My guess is that she will hold the title and lose it in a Handicap match where the Bellas face Kong (or whatever she will be called in WWE) and Kong will be one of the only people who isnt worried about "twin magic." All i know is whenever WWE gives Kong the title, she needs to face some good women's wrestlers. i think most people want to see Beth Phoenix vs Kong and i would also be intersted in Natayla vs. Kong or Tamina vs. Kong.

It makes no sense to put her in the ring right off the bat against the best women wrestlers in the WWE. Let her squash the diva's one by one until she meets someone who will not go down so easy. Brie is a transitional champion.

Giving any Bella, let alone Brie the Divas Title is a huge mistake. You go from women like Melina, Mickie James, Maryse, Eve Torres, Beth Phoenix, and Natalya to Brie Bella. You have got to be kidding me! While women who can actually wrestle are being jobbed out on Superstars or put in 30 second matches that Michael Cole starts talking in the middle of. Great job, WWE. Brie Bella is a joke.
