Book This! - General Discussion

The latest article under "Editorials" is posted in WWE: The Icon View. Check it out now and leave feedback, please. GCB, I have started to read your Rumble and it looks as if I'll take long time to do read it completely. So you've got to wait for the feedback from me and the article on your RTWM begins when you make your feuds a little more clear.

Yo you guys should check out HUFMJCMaverick9's BT his first show wasnt all that good but from talking with him many many times I know hes got big plans for things and hes just looking to get some feedback/reviews to find ways he needs to improve.

Also Genesis is almost done got the two big matches left to do along with one segment its turning out to be a great PPV so far in my book.

Question:
If I summarised what happened between the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber and then wrote the PPV, what would people feel about this?

Just a small idea I had. It'd be a detailed report of what happened on the RAW, SMACKDOWN and NXT shows between RR and EC but it'd get my BT moving quicker. I'm not saying I'm definitely doing it, probably won't, but wondered how people would feel about it. RR >>> EC is exciting but a little less exciting than the six weeks building towards the big show.

How are everybody's shows shaping up?

I've got a little bit of go home raw done but only opening match though.

I say go for what you feel works GCB. I'm sure that you'd do a great job of summarising what happens.

have everything but the main event done for Genesis should finish that up sometime tonight then post tomorrow thats the goal anyway.

R.e You're show:
I'd say do it if you want to get to Mania as quick as possible. RR to EC is only what, 3 weeks? There isn't much build towards Mania, that happens after EC. All depends on how quickly you want to get to Mania!

R.e My show:
Finished RAW a couple of days ago. I would be able to post it except I don't have any graphics (and wont have any for a few days). I write my shows on my MacBook but I don't have Photoshop (or a mouse for that matter) so I have to use our PC which does have PS. Only issue is that it's being fixed. Hopefully RAW will be posted after the weekend but for now, it's time to write Superstars and Smackdown ! :p

GCB, I feel you must do that in order to get to WM quick. That's what you want and that's what most of us want. But I'd say it's fun building to the EC because you have six different participants for one match. The call's up to you.

I'm torn between a desire to get the BT moving towards WM quicker (therefore summarising to EC) and keeping up the quality of my show. I feel that summarising now would mean that, with a six week holiday from work around the corner, I could get moving towards WM very quickly. I'm also aware that EC build, like RR build, means the feuds aren't as personal - it's more focused on qualifying and momentum rather than personal issues with people. From reading responses here, I'm edging towards a summary now.

I'd be more angry if the build to Mania was rushed because of this holiday compared to a summary of the weeks before EC.

I had to take a break working on my BT. I have only two matches to go, and I'm already almost done with the first match I need to finish. My BT is almost off the first which must mean that this section is active.

GCB. Re: you summarising your shows to get the road to WM rolling. You can see the horizon coming and you want to get there because your plan is in place. I have always been an advocate for the summarised show and there are actually a lot of different ways it can be done. One of them is the DVD style. What that is you write the DVD chapters all together. Eg. Chapter 1 WWE title: you include all the parts of the shows leading upto the ppv match. Week 1 Barrett does this week 2 this happens to set up something. Main event match determines #1 contender etc. you can have WHC chapter mid card title chapters etc.

There are many ways you can do a summarised show between ppvs.

[triple h] But here's the thing[/hhh] you have always prided yourself on full shows. In our debate over summarised vs full shows the reason I thought your answer was great was that it wasn't about getting through the story for you, it was about showing off your writing ability. Now with the summarised format that still can be the case, with the DVD format you can do that too, it's all about thinking outside the box and applying those writing skills in a different way to achieve your goal. Whatever way you go I'm sure all your readers will keep following your show and when your WM arrives it will be on your time because in the words of author Neil Gaiman, he ain't nobodies bitch. Haha

And the highlighted line is the one and only reason for not doing it. But it's a pretty big one. :banghead: Can't make a decision!

There is a certain amount of interweaving of stories that would make the DVD format impossible. There are matches and events that feature more than one story/feud at a time.

I got a little bit more of RAW done tonight, should be finished by tomorrow as I've got all day to write it. I'm going to cancel NXT for now so I can get RAW running properly before I start to add new shows. Roll on Backlash :)
