Book This! - General Discussion

@Peep. I found 2010 to be worse, but the WWE at this time now isn't that good either, but it's tolerable. I might need to get back into watching TNA. I haven't regularly watched it since 3007.

I have 3 more matches left, and some promos to add for Smackdown. Expect a very good Triple Threat Match, and a very good No Disqualification Match between Randy Orton and Mark Henry. Read all my shows to enjoy the build up to the Elimination Chamber, and the Road to Wrestlemania 28.

Not this weekend, apologies. I never promised, just said I was hopeful. One more match to go, CM Punk vs. Christian for the World Championship. Soon. Very soon!

Do you? Why?

I hope you're not expecting me to reach WrestleMania quickly?

I'll be happy if I get to WrestleMania before the end of 2012 - but I doubt I will. I initially targeted reaching it and presenting it by the end of 2011 so that tells you how far away I am!

I did think it would be fun to do a prediction contest after the Rumble where you had to predict my WrestleMania matches. A few of them should start to become clearer after the Rumble. I'm planning (note, planning, might change) to have ten matches at WrestleMania. In my opinion, there are already clues for a few of them and after the RR, six of them could easily be guessed.

Apologies for the double posting there. Poor netiquette.

You won the poll in my lounge thread meaning I write for you. And I thought I would much rather write on the aftermath of the Rumble leading to Mania which would be better than reviewing or previewing any of the PPvs. And sorry for the earlier comment, never guessed the page had changed so fast.

Smackdown is up, go check that out! As I said before, I liked this show but it's mainly used to set the next two weeks up.

Now I have to get some reviews out. Try and get to those in the next week.

Hey guys, you think a modern day WCW BT would be interesting? Who would you put it in?

The fact that Sting, Hogan, Flair, Nash, Steiner and Jarrett are still involved in the wrestling business in 2012, probably shows that if WCW was still around, these guys would still be there. Add Goldberg to the mix, Booker T, Rey Mysterio, maybe O'Haire, Pulumbo, Jindrak.. I think Batista was originally from the WCW powerplant and then moved to OVW could make him a WCW possiblilty also. Throw in Kurt Angle, AJ Styles and Samoa Joe, Storm, Roode and others from TNA and you would probably have your roster.

The one thing about WCW closing down I always wondered was would certain wrestlers still be alive today if they had WCW to fall back on. For example, Bam Bam, Mike Awesome and Bryan Clarke, who were all part of WCW's last roster have passed away. Could this have prevented if there was an alternative work place for these men? Awesome hung himself from depression. I don't know the extent of his family life, but if he had WCW to fall back on then maybe his depression wouldn't have been so bad if he had a place to work.

I'm not sure I've thought my thread through the whole way... not got proper plans past Backlash; just ideas. I think I just jumped right into it. I have two months with nothing much to do but I have no motivation to write this thread.

Not sure whether the thread is going to live or not :/

Your stuff is really good man, but it seemed as though it was a little rushed.

If that thread dies will you start a new one?

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.

However, I don't think you should give up on it yet, TWG. If you've lost motivation already, get some. Change your plans. You've created a heel Orton with so much heat, it was a high impact start. The beauty of BT is you can do anything, bring in anybody. OK, it might be a little unrealistic in places but so what? If you've not got a plan for the shows after the PPV, make something. Have someone return/enter the WWE. Make a dream match for Summerslam and head towards it. Hell, have it at the PPV after Backlash if it helps you get motivated.

Looks like everyone's been busy lately. Here's a question to get some discussion going.

What do you think of created promotions? Do you like them? Why or why not?

If the created fed has some big stars and not WWE/TNA rejects and ROH guys (that's because I don't watch ROH, it's not broadcasted where I live) then maybe I could get into it provided it has good storylines and explanations for pushes of said superstars. Well there goes JAM's question. Now my question:

Who do you think will be the MITB match participants and who do you think will win?

I think if Barrett returns in time he is a shoe in for the briefcase, however I don't if it will be RAW or Smackdown. Maybe The Miz could reinvent his career with the briefcase but I don't know.

Is there going to be one for each brand or will it be one match only?

Money in the Bank coming up - that means a year has passed since that CM Punk promo!

Barrett has resurfaced of late and is very active on Twitter - whether he is just excited for the football or whether he is doing it to make his followers remember he is there, I don't know. If he is ready, he could win, for sure. Big Show is built up as a monster at the moment, they could go with that. Miz could use it, he needs something and I definitely see him being involved. Dolph Ziggler could also be a contender for it. With two face champions, it'll probably be a heel winner (at least one if two matches) to set something up.

I'd like to see two MITB matches because I think one of them needs to be cashed in within a month and lead to defeat. That would add more intrigue to the MITB contract, IMO. Then the other MITB winner could go long, so to speak, with more interest in him and whether or not he can win it when he goes to cash in.
