Book This! - General Discussion

I don't like the voting idea at all. I used to use it for little things, but I've stopped it for now because it doesn't heed the writing well.

Also, you want us to vote for who becomes WWE Champion, but you've also said on your "Website" that you're going to hold a Battle Royal where the winner becomes WWE Champion?

Don't give it away on your 1st show. Build up to it.

There's already SO much wrong with this.

Well Proph, see those two sentences? Those sentences will be helpful in any thread that you review provided that you say why you think it's boring and what not. Criticism is part of the reviews so I'm sure anyone would love to hear what you have to say since you're one of the top bookers here. So yeah, hand out a few reviews everyone!

Agree completely, JAM.

I'm going to mention him for a second time this week but 'wrestlingfan' did a lot of damage to people wanting to do reviews in my opinion. But most of the newcomers are open to criticism I bet. The pity is that none of them are doing a few reviews first - you can be damn sure that means they're not reading around in that case. And that's why we get so few shows that get past the first week.

Reviews don't need to be huge, great long things either. They could just be a paragraph with overall thoughts. I think a lot of reviews end up being mostly recapping the event sometimes. Peep's reviews are fantastic - he responds to the event rather than retelling it and it is really useful. I'm at a point where I ignore most of his comments ( :rolleyes: ) - because I know why I'm doing something so I know it'll all come clear to him later - but every now and then, Peep forces me to change something in a little way. That's the power of a good review. For me, it causes little tweaks. For newcomers, it should cause major changes at first.

Check me out on my soap box today!

Yeah you are right cause I was thinking of crowning the WWE Champion at the Rumble instead but the Raw idea sounded better at the time.

Aw shucks, GCB.

I was looking at a review a guy posted on your thread on that other forum and it was quite funny; he just basically said what happened without a single comment. E.g. so in your first match 'x' won and he is the new champion. And in the next match...

I like the idea of the Royal Rumble determining the new WWE Champion, True Campeon. The winner of the Rumble wins the title instead of a title match at WrestleMania - that would be cool. You could have us all guessing then!

Yeah, I spotted that. It's nice that he is enthusiastic about my show though. He seems to be really into it. But it doesn't really tell me anything. Like I said, your review is the one I really look forward to - as well as Theo, Proph, JAM and previously Sign Guy - because it tells me where I'm going right. And where I'm going wrong. And where you just don't understand yet!

Examples:
- Lots of calls for Punk to be pushed at a higher level in the early going so I made him the World Champion - he was never meant to be. You guys forced that one through. The Vengeance World Title match was always going to be Kane vs. Kofi with Kane as champion. Then I changed it just before Survivor Series.
- I ignored a lot of early comments about Kofi not being title material - I knew where I was going with him. Now, you all believe in him.

@awesome_miz, I agree with everyone, you should just scrap the poll so that you can keep your BT unpredictable.

@GCB, I quite enjoy your show so I hope you post Smackdown soon! Or well, I just wanna see what you do with Kofi. You really made me a believer of Kofi in the main event. What I want to ask you is...who else other than Kofi were you considering giving this push to?

Jam does the same thing most of the time.

LOL. Well sorry Mr. Reviewer :D

And yeah, I did notice that. But ohwell, will change that.

It makes the majority of the review pointless when you just write what happened on the show instead of giving your thoughts on the stuff.

Well, what an opening that was from Steve Austin. For me, Austin works great as a heel or a face. When you hear his music, you just have to instantly cheer the man but in this case, you have the people booing him which works too. Interesting to see how Austin “rids” the WWF of the superstars he believes stealing his air time. Austin vs. Rock, let's see this again!

Intense backstage segment with Austin and the Undertaker. Not often do we see the Undertaker hanging out in the back. I like how the tension between the two were obvious even if all the talking was done by Austin. Undertaker made his point when he did his cut throat taunt. Love this era!

Typical Rocky promo here with him basically taking over. With Rock's recent appearances in the WWE, this thread has gotten me more excited more than ever because of The Rock. His promo ability is second to none and well, it's just not fair how good he is.

Ha, Right To Censor. I think this group was brilliant. Interrupting Chyna was pretty comical for me. Chyna was a she-woman, I wouldn't mess with her around this time period.

The last thing I want to comment on is this whole BT revolving around Steve Austin. Idk, I just feel like a BT should be building up new characters and some younger guys and making them credible. But this show wasn't bad. Matches were pretty alright. I gotta agree with GS here, show seemed a little bit rushed. You could've taken your time here Proph, no real hurry. But I understand because once you get the ideas, you wanna post soon so that you'll get some response from others and that's fine. Lately, the section has been slow and I hope it picks up soon with the reviewing and everything.

So overall, good show Proph. You seem to know what you're doing with this and I always loved the early 2000s so I'm sure you'll do great. Cheers!

This was my review on your thread. I know you're not talking about just my reviews on your thread but others as well but anyway.

Now, it's not the most helpful review in the world but a review nonetheless. Wouldn't you all agree? :D

Truthfully? None of them. There is a reason Cena moved to SMACKDOWN. I wanted to give a build to somebody on each show - Barrett and Sheamus are the two on RAW, when I looked for SMACKDOWN, there was nobody that interested me. Christian was so close anyway but I believed that a program with Matt Hardy was the way forward there - both so similar with their more successful brothers. It didn't leave me much other than Kofi on SMACKDOWN at the time. There was also Alberto - he'd just started when I started BT - but I wanted him to go the IC Title route. It just left Kofi. As I've said before, I wasn't, I'm not, a huge fan of Kofi - though he has grown on me since I used him so much on BT. You can see the problems I had with SMACKDOWN when you look at the guys who've been involved in the Intercontinental Title mix - Del Rio won it from Ziggler (who I can't write for in an interesting way, hence why he is on NXT so I can try to write for him) and his challengers since have been Evan Bourne and Mark Henry (face). Not exactly great. ADR was never ever going to lose the title to those guys, it was all to make him look good.

I think that JAM does do that but there are useful comments mixed in. For example:

I'd say that the bold parts were useful. From that:
- Austin getting rid of WWF superstars interesting;
- You're good at building tension with Austin and Taker;
- Right to Censor = interesting;
- Need more than just Austin;
- Show a little rushed? Take your time;
- Good first show.

I think JAM has given you useful feedback there.

It does have some helpful stuff but look at the amount of pointless recapping. Why does the booker need to know that Chyna is a guy?

In no way am I saying I don't want your feedback Jam, what I'm trying to say is you could cut down on some of the recapping you do.
