Bobby Roode is Bound For Glory!

I am very excited about this. Roode's promo last night before the match was great. I think he's every bit as entertaining on the mic as anyone else in TNA. All the folks who have been watching TNA over the years will be watching to see if TNA pulls the trigger and gives him the belt. During the road impact show, Beer Money was the most over with the crowd. Give him the strap and see what happens.

For all of those who say that has to be the biggest match on the card...it won't be. Hogan and Sting is what TNA will book as the main event and expect to draw the PPV buys. That match won't be the one for me. If i buy, it will be to see Roode get the title. We'll also have Anderson vs Bully Ray. A possible return by Jeff Hardy vs ????. My guess is 1 more match between Styles and Daniels.

I think it will be fitting for him to win the belt at BFG. It will establish him as a main event player and he can build his character. Guys like Sting, Hogan, RVD, Angle, or Anderson don't need the belt to be relevant. They are past the point of needing the belt to be credible. Roode needs the belt. Give it to him and let him establish himself as the guy. Eventually, feud him with other guys like Morgan, Storm, Styles, Joe, Crimson or Gunner. Mix in a vet with them and you may just make a star out of him yet. You never know...

Ever since Beer Money, I've always liked this guy, he is a great tag team wrestler, and now I can see him taking it all on his own.. His look is the 1 look I really like in a heel character, I think he could be a classic heel type character, maybe with a manager.. But hey this guy can really wrestle..

The match at BFG needs to be a 1 on 1 match and IMO Roode has to come out on top..

It's a shame about James Storm, but i'm looking forward to a Roode/Storm match in the near future.. I would have liked to see them both in the final, but if they play the cards right, we could see it real soon so i'm happy..

Hugely dissapointed with this decision. I'm not usually one for criticising TNA, but how the hell is anyone supposed to believe that Bobby Roode actually stands a chance of beating Kurt Angle? Bully Ray would've been by far and away the best choice for winning the BFG Series IMO. I would buy into Gunner as more of a threat to Kurt Angle than Roode. What has Roode ever done apart from be a part of a great tag team?

Roode is just average IMO. He has a decent look, good ring skills, average mic skills and no gimmick. That doesn't scream potential World Champion to me. I just wish Matt Morgan hadn't been injured during the Series because there's a guy that you could actually see beating Kurt Angle and becoming World Champion.

I appreciate a lot of internet fans like Roode but TNA have never portrayed him as someone who could be a main eventer and there's a lot of work to be done between now and BFG for him to be taken as a serious threat to someone like Kurt Angle. Maybe Angle loses the Title between now and BFG? I don't know, but I really can't see Roode standing much of a chance at BFG. During the final I was sort of hoping James Storm would come down and cost Roode the match, therefore allowing a genuine main eventer like Bully Ray to go on to BFG.

Perhaps the people who say Hogan and Bischoff are ruining TNA may have been right after all. I've been spending a lot of time defending Hogan and Bischoff but I just can't defend this decision. Hopefully Angle retains the World Title at BFG because having Bobby Roode as the World Champion would be a huge step back (considering the massive strides the company beens making over the last couple of years) and make them look like the indy company they were back in 2008. Sorry if I've offended anyone but Roode is just not a viable World Champion at this point. Perhaps if he was bulit up for the next year or so then yea, but BFG is next month!

Hold up a minute, sonny. You say Roode has no gimmick but yet say that Gunner is more of a threat to Angle? What mic skills does Gunner have? What gimmick does Gunner have? Riddle me that one, genius.

Bully Ray has been improving over the past few months but what in the hell makes you think he's a genuine main eventer even in TNA?

In a way, i'm happy for Bobby because he's one of the TNA originals and after 7 years of working for TNA, he's finally getting a main spot on PPV. The only problem is, in scared that it'S all he's getting. TNA has a history of building up mid card talent into main eventer only to send them back down to midcard when it's they're done with them. Just ask The Pope, Samoa Joe, Matt Morgan, A.J. Styles, Hernandez and Jay Lethal. So Bobby is getting a title shot against Angle, good for him. I'm happy he's getting the shot. But i wouldn'T be surprise that after Bound For Glory, Bobby Roode get put back in the tag division and continue and get the championships back from Mexican america at the next PPV

I hope they book this great at BFG. It has to be an epic meaningful match and that Angle does everything he can to put Roode over.

I haven't really got a riddle as such. But Gunner has been built as a legit threat to the top guys in TNA. In recent months he's defeated the likes of Sting, Mr Anderson, AJ Styles and Bully Ray. That is why I could easily buy into him as a serious threat to Kurt Angle. Bobby Roode has been booked as a great tag team wrestler ever since I've watched TNA. That's the difference. And if you read the last line of my post you'd see I put "Perhaps if he was bulit up for the next year or so then yea, but BFG is next month!"

Oh I don't know maybe the fact that he's the best heel in the wrestling business. Why would the best heel not be a main eventer? That's like me asking someone why they think John Cena is a main eventer, because he's the best face in the business (to kids anyway) that's why.

A lot of you hating Roode just don't see his great in-ring work.

He is one of the best in-ring workers in this day and age... singles or tag team. He isn't just a good wrestler with a good look. No... he truly is great in the ring... he can hang with anyone you put in front of him.

He seems to understand what he needs to do to be a top player, and now all Impact Wrestling needs to do is let him run in the right direction.

Secondly I'd be shocked if there isn't some swerve to push the main event into a triple threat match

I actually kind of see this happening, but with a good twist...

I think there is a possibility that the build to this match could play out in such a way that the BFG main event becomes Angle v. Roode v. Storm.

I feel like that would be an even more intriguing potential main event, and I feel it is still a strong possibility.

In either case, I think that Roode should be the man to go over.

I like where the Roode storyline is going with Fourtune.

I have the feeling that Daniels will lose clean against Bobby. Wich will set him off and when AJ will face Roode, Daniels will cost AJ the match. Then when Roode will face Storm, something will make Storm mad and will try to cost Roode the match at BFG.

What they should do is have a Fourtune gauntlet at BFG and the winner would get a title shot for the TNA title. In the BFG title match, Storm comes in to fake costing Roode the title but help him against members of Immortal that try to interfere. Next PPV it's Roode vs Storm for the title. And it's very friendly. Until Storm lose. The next Impact they talk to each other in the ring and Storm smash his bottle in Roode's face and it becomes a full fledge rivalry.
