Bo Dallas? Is he finished? Revamping? Or just heading up?

Bo Dallas. The one who beat Big E for the NXT Title, losing it a matter of weeks ago to Adrian Neville. I don't understand his booking at all. He has never been a fan favorite (Even when he WAS a face) and his heel act seems forced. His in ring style (mostly mat based) doesn't match his persona at all. WWE Apparently thought that this was worthy of a short/unfinished feud with Barrett in early 2013. They realized quickly that there was little interest.
Now, it would seem, that he MAY be headed up to the main roster. I hope I am wrong, but his feud with the new champ is essentially over and where does an organization such as NXT go with their former champions? Answer: Main Roster.
My question is this. Given that he comes from a wrestling family (Rotundos, IRS-Bray Wyatt), is he the black sheep who "Doesn't get it"? I understand that he was sacked with unfavorable gimmicks, but DO something to make it work. Or revamp it, much like his brother Husky "Bray Wyatt" Harris was able to accomplish and continues to improve. Dallas gets NO fan reaction what so ever, unless his opponent is a favorite, his mat style wrestling isn't the exciting type, but peppered with "wear down" holds and his promo style seems like he is detached from it.
Or do I just not get it? Very real possibility that there is something I am not seeing here. Any NXT Fans want to offer their take?

I think he has a shot on the main roster as a heel. I literally want to punch him in the face every time it see him, so that has to be good for something.

Bo Dallas' character always struck me as a pun on John Cena's schtick. The problem with that is the real John Cena is still firmly entrenched in the main roster so getting called up without a tweak to Bo's character isn't really an option. It doesn't help that Cena is supposedly very protective of his character, and rightfully so given how much money it's made him.

When Bo lost the NXT title at Arrival, he became the first NXT Champion to not be called up to the main roster during his title reign. I actually think Neville might be called up before him too. The truth is Bo got that title reign because of nepotism. His daddy is a big shot backstage so he got some perks. But that's not going to cut it in the long run. Although his character is pretty intriguing, he isn't that good in the ring, and creative is going to have a hard time fitting him on the show. Bo Dallas is just unnecessary at this point.

I really like what he is doing right now. The heel who doesn't realize he's a heel is a very strong and under-utilized character. Bo definitely needs to work on his character as a whole. His promos feel repetitive and very scripted (he defintely doesn't have the mic work of his older brother). But they're is absolutely talent beneath it all. I'd actually like another NXT championship run out of him before moving up. He's in his very early 20's and there's no reason to rush him up to the main card. With a little patience and grooming he could be a great character as long as the timing is right.

The one place I think he would be a nice addition to the main roster would be with the Wyatts. It's clearly tailor made that he would join up with his brother, but it goes beyond that. I feel like his shtick works with the message that the Wyatts are sending, and I think the Wyatt family has room for growth (unlike the Sheild who should never ever ever add another member).

I said it in another thread... Bo Dallas has only one shot on the main roster as far as I can tell and that would be to come up as Bo Wyatt and join the wyatt family and never talk, his function would be just to take big bumps that the other guys are to big to take from whoever the wyatts are feuding with to help add interest in the feuds. Basically the only chance I give him is if he becomes the spike dudley of the wyatts, which cant be appealing for him.

Other than that I see him as an NXT lifer who puts over the guy who makes it to the main roster

The problem with Bo is that his entire heel gimmick is based on the idea that he is a legitimately inadequate performer and receives pushes and opportunities that should be given to better or more deserving talents. The only way his gimmick would work on the main roster is if they gave him a massive uppercard push, intentionally pushing him beyond his abilities, and they probably won't do that, so the gimmick falls apart.
