Best PPV in WWE history

Yesterday night I got stitches in my arm, and the doctor told me I couldn't do anything physical for a week. So I turned on the wwe network and decided to start watching mitb ppvs. As a kid that missed the attitude and a lot of the ruthless aggression era, what would u guys say is the greatest wwe, ecw, or ecw ppv on the WWE network? I'm running out of ideas and on Sunday I'm watching every mitb ever, so don't include any of those, but I need something fun to watch.

Best ECW ppv is heatwave 98, The best WCW is bash at the beach 1996, and I like watching fully loaded 99 some other good ones are SummerSlam 91, Survivor Series 90 , WrestleMania 7, 8,12,3, 17,18,19,22,23,24.

One Night Stand in 2005 is outstanding. Even if you are not an ECW fan it was an amazing watch. The crowd, the talent, Joey Styles. It was perfect and they put on an amazing show.

Besides the obvious PPV's (Rumble/Mania/Summerslam) I would say Extreme Rules 2012 and, if it's on the Network, a lot of the late 80's NWA stuff when Flair was at his peak even just for his matches.

I never saw the attitude era and part of the ruthless aggression era so I love watching that, but I saw extreme rules 2012 live and it's one of my favorites. I'm also really into ecw it's pretty awesome.

My favorite Pay Per Views of all time was Vengeance 2001 and WrestleMania XIX, but I’ve watched those 2 so many times on DVD already. Just do what I do and start from the beginning, Starrcade 1983, and watch them all in chronological order up to Money In The Bank 2014 this Sunday. Currently I’m at WrestleMania VIII, for those keeping score.

Wrestlemania 14 always been my favorite. I personally always felt that was the beginning of the Attitude Era. Austin defeated HBK to solidify his spot as the face of the company - this was the last time we also saw HBK compete in the ring for several years. Undertaker faced Kane in an epic match.

I'd have to say Wrestlemania 20, this really is more for my bias though xD it was like the first WM I was a part of, the first time WM came around that I was a fan! Plus Benoit won the title! :D

Another good one was Backlash in 2008? I went to that one xP so again I'm biased towards it

My favorite ppv of all time is Wrestlemania XIX. I Also love Ecw one night stand 05. The Awesome vs Tanaka match was just insane. I started watching all of the ppvs I've been to not counting Wrestlemanias which I've seen a million times and I forgot how good the 05 Royal Rumble is. The 4 matches before the rumble were all rally good. We'll the casket match was ok. The rumble match itself is pretty good and is worth watching for the beating daniel puder got alone. Also I'm sure I'll get shit for this but if you missed the attitude era I'd watch all of the ppvs from the Invasion. Most people hate it but I thought it was cool but if nothing else it's a big part of wrestling history. I believe it starts with Invasion and goes through Survivor Series that year. 2001.

No Mercy 2008. Big Show vs. The Undertaker, Triple H vs. Jeff Hardy and my favorite match of all time, Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho in a Ladder Match.

November to Remember 99 was a hell of a show. Super Crazy v Tajeri v Lynn, Chris Candido v Sabu, Rvd v Taz, not to mention another incredible Mike Awesome v Masato Tanaka match. Sick awesome bomb over the top rope.

If the ECW Barely Legal 97 PPV is on the network, check it out. It's their first PPV ever and you'll see a lot of young stars. Dudleys vs Eliminators, Lance Storm vs RVD, Taka Michinoku in an awesome Japanese/Luchador match. Taz vs Sabu was a bit underwhelming, but overall, it was a pretty cool PPV

I have to say that I'm quite biased in favor of Wrestlemania 20 based solely on the main events alone. Unlike many people on here, I grew up watching the Ruthless Aggression era as opposed to the Attitude Era, and this was the culmination of the careers of two of that era's biggest stars: Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit who, despite being around beforehand, were not at the level of main eventing a Wrestliemania until that point. Seeing Chris Benoit, my favorite wrestler, win against two stars was phenomenal, and that moment when Eddie comes out to congratulate him was unforgettable. Unfortunately this, and all moments featuring Benoit, have understandably been forgotten by the WWE, but they are unedited on the network. Do yourself a favor and, at the very least, watch the two great main events.

When I'm bored enough I usually pop in a Survivor Series dvd. I have those anthology sets that came out some years ago that run up to 1996. I like all of them mostly because I like the traditional Survivor Series matches.

Royal Rumble is another event I enjoy and some of the early King of the Ring stuff.

It's gonna be generational and you have to know what you're calling "the best" is not actually just "favourite" cos they're different.

Your favourite PPV is gonna the the one with the most moments you love or the one you went to etc... in my case Summerslam 92 cos I was there 4th row, had an amazing weekend meeting wrestlers and being in London for the first time sans parents etc... but the rest of the card was not good compared to the main event so it's not the "best" PPV.

The best is going to be the best "put together show" from top to bottom and here are my contenders:-

Wrestlemania 10 - That they ended up scrapping a whole 8 man match and it not mattering says you have a strong card. Ever match was well built and while some could have changed, like Bam Bam having a singles match etc it had enough well executed moments throughout the show to make it a the best Mania since 3 at the time.

King Of The Ring 93 - It was a new concept and while it's main event was ruined by Hogan's nonsensical self booking the remainder of the card was excellent. The tournament kicked off in real style... Razor Ramon showed he was going to be something special, you got the better rematch between Bret and Curt, a classic little v big man match with Bam Bam and THEN Jerry attacking Bret for the twist in the tale. This was really well put together and it's a shame they ruined it 2 years later.

but my pick and admittedly this is again an old one is Survivor Series 1990.

The Survivor Series was orginally intended as a "way in" for new fans to the WWF, in the space of a 5 on 5 elimination match you could get a sense who "who's who" in the WWF. Who the big names were by who was a team captain, who was on the way up by the ones getting pinfalls and those who were not as important as they were eliminated. 1990 was the best example of this... each team was pitched just right and they had the oft lamented "Battle of Survival" at the end.

Take the Gobbledygooker reveal out of the equation and you have arguably the best put together show WWF ever put out and it still holds up. The top two heroes won over a teamup of nefarious but shock winners. Rick Martel's team clean sweeping was a great move. There was the debut of the Undertaker and the first major "push" for Bret Hart in his mini-match with a true main eventer in DiBiase. By the end of this show, even a first time viewer would have known exactly the landscape of the WWF leading into the Rumble and Mania 7, been hooked into the shows and found a favourite... be it from Bret's heroic close call, Hogan and Warrior's win, The Undertaker's monstrosity... the Gooker was stupid, but it didn't ruin the show... indeed the show itself couldn't be topped so it was a bit of a "release valve" always important before the main event.

Wrestlemania 3, Wrestlemania 17, Wrestlemania 30.

Honorable mentions:

Summerslam 2002
IYH: Canadian Stampede
Survivor Series 1998 (not for the matches but the storylines, greatest PPV of all time for storyline purposes)

Wrestlemania 31

- Roman Reigns wins the title.

- The inclusion of Sami Zayn\Kevin Steen to the WM history books.

- Undertaker is revealed to the world as being just a mortal man, who must now hang up the boots.

Ooops, I meant to put all that in spoilers. My bad guys.

Oh, yeah & on the grandest stage of them all, the entire world will finally...
