Baylor vs. Washington

Kermit

the Frog
Final Score: Baylor (67) - Washington (56)

And no, this was not a basketball game. This was the Valero Alamo Bowl in San Antonio. They were two points shy of tying the record for the most combined points in a bowl game.

Exciting for those who watched, but in the end it was totally sad at how pathetic the defenses were. These two teams have been giving out points like candy all season, but jeez. Did anyone else catch this game?

I would say that this has been the most fun-to-watch bowl game of the year, but that's not saying much as mostly all of this year's match ups seem a little dull. Also, Notre Dame lost today. Take that Lou Holtz!

Agreed with the whole post. Then you went taking shots at my beloved Notre Dame. :disappointed:

Haha, I'm sorry. If it makes you feel any better, I'm more annoyed at Lou Holtz's yearly lobby for them to be national title contenders than I am with the team itself. I'm stoked about next year, because OU plays them. Should be a fun match-up.

Ha, I don't mind. Lou Holtz is hardly taken seriously, atleast by me and my family. He's good for a laugh or two because he constantly makes "cases" for ND to be ranked higher or whatever, and it's hilarious when him and Mark May get into it on the college football shows sometimes.

I think we're gonna get crushed by OU next year. Our QB, Rees, seems so brain-dead at times, yet he wins games. We had a freshman quarterback this year who can run and pass who will probably see a lot of playing time next year after not playing this year. Hopefully he'll work out better.

OU has a really young team and if Jones comes back I will put us in the national title talk. He gets a really big wrap because he bites it in big games, but the guy can throw a football. The summer will provide him a lot of time to get comfortable with his new receivers. I just wish that he had a little more fire under his belly when he played. The guy is so "cool" after throwing a pick that it frustrates me. Not the good kind of "cool" either.

The Insight Bowl is going to be an interesting spectacle to watch. The word is that Stoops cleaned house and told everyone that didn't want to play to not come to practice or fly with them to the game. It'll be interesting to see who all starts and plays.

Stoops told everybody that? Why? Was there a problem with the players and stuff? If so, there wasn't a mention of it in the national media, unless I just simply missed it. I've always liked Stoops. There was period of time after Weis left that many Irish fans thought we'd get either him or Urban Meyer. Stoops is just such a great coach, he's a winner.

My other college team that I like is Texas A&M. So, in this thread you've ragged on ND and told me you liked OU. Oh buddy...

;)

Lol. Everyone hates the Sooners, don't worry I'm use to it.

Some of the players were tweeting about not wanting to go to practice for the bowl, and a lot of them were complaining about having to leave on Christmas day to be there.

Same with Notre Dame. Atleast we're in the same boat on that one.

I think they give up their right to complain about practice when they take a FREE college education for playing football. Kinda like the during the NBA lockout when millionaires fighting over millions of dollars. Come on. :disappointed:

The sooner that OU players realize that they just can't win games because they are OU, the better.

I feel like ND players have that same problem sometimes... Huh, I never knew OU and ND had so much in common lol

I actually think the two teams draw a lot of similarities. I also draw a lot of comparison to what Ohio State has done in recent years.

Just their recent bowl slumps in the last 8 years. OU has gotten a horrible rep for blowing it in the big games. Thus the moniker, "Big Game Bob." Ohio State is also in this boat of failing to capture a national title and other BCS crowns. The two teams have become a butt of the yearly "overrated" jokes.

Boise State really did it in for us, and no one will ever let us live that down. :(

Ah, I see. Well atleast you guys are constantly contending for bowls. After Holtz left pretty much, it's just a miracle ND has a winning season.

Ah, the Boise game. That was a fun time. ;)
