Batista to Attempt MMA?

For the record, I hate both of the Diaz brothers but I have an incredible amount of respect for Nick Diaz and his skill level. Nate Diaz can fuck off though.

Anyway, this is really funny. Batista obviously isn't the natural athlete that Lashley is, let alone Lesnar. He was clumsy in the ring and somewhat of an oaf. With that being said, I would love to see him fight. Out of nothing but curiosity mind you, but fight nonetheless. For whatever reason I can see him doing alright against the bottom of the division. The moment he's paired with a good wrestler with some decent submissions he's a goner. No matter how fast he advances, it's still going to be too little too late. The point should be brought up though that he does in fact have mma training under his belt. He has stated that he has a couple of years of ju-jitsu and some kickboxing training. Take that for what it's worth.

The obvious freak show matches await him and I'm looking forward to them. Sapp vs Batista is so damn comical it's hard to fathom. Or against Hong Man Choi. OR Canseco. Any of the freak show fighters would be great really. Keep him far away from Lashley though, for his own safety.

I've heard a rumor that Batista is being booked to fight Lashley in his first fight. Please tell me this is correct so the lulz can begin.

I don't think anything has been confirmed. As interesting and potentially hilarious that fight sounds, it's not smart fight making if SF wants to maintain both fighters as possible draws. Lashley, while still green to mma, has shown he has some potential at least. Batista is a completely unknown entity at this sport right now. Either Lashley dominates Batista or Batista scores a pretty big upset. Either way, it's a loss one of these mens records and some of the marketability they had will be gone. That is a problem when you consider the fact that both men are probably paid more than any other fighter in their positions. Smartest move would be to give Batista a warm up fight or two and test the waters. Still there is the problem of him losing to either of those two and never making any money at all off of potential fight with Bobby. Either way it shouldn't have a huge effect on anything, so no matter what fight they make it's not going to make a difference.
