Orton loses his title to Bastista.....really? why? what the hell is going on here....

Not that I love Orton, but I am just so sick of the WWE shoving Batista at us....
I mean come on, this guy is just a big guy who yells and can't wrestle or talk on the mic....

IMO -things were setting up for Orton v HHH in a Hell in the Cell at Summerslam (which they can still do)
so what now....please please please please please WWE do not waste Cena at Summerslam by doing a Cena v Batista rematch from last year....that match was so boring...

I wish Batista would just retire....

I was thinking the same thing, they must want people to stop watching Raw. They are going to make me just watch Smackdown and TNA. TNA has been a lot more interesting since WWE has started doing dumb stuff since Wrestlemaina.

I may just skip Raw tomorrow, it is starting to get annoying, now Batista. WHY!!? His matches are so bad and short. Boring!

Know what, I will watch tomorrow, maybe they pull a Kane and make Batista lose it in 24 hours.

Is it just me, or has RAW been extremely boring ever since Boretista became the #1 Contender? Now with Boretista on top of RAW, I would rather spend Monday night watching Jon & Kate Plus 8 (at least Kate knows how to talk to a camera!)...and I HATE that show. (At least A&E's got a new season of Intervention on, maybe I'll spend my Monday nights watching that...)

A lesser site is claiming that Batista has suffered a tricep tear and will go under the knife on Tuesday so I would look for a new champ to be crowned on Monday's Raw. This only begs the question: As Big Dave is injury prone will he receive the Kennedy... Kennedy treatment and wake up to the pink slip treatment on Tuesday???

Highly unlikely. Unlike Kennedy, Big Dave has friends in high places (Flair/HHH). Batista could injure Randy Orton and John Cena in the same match, tear his quad, and still have a job.

Speaking of placement on the card...isn't it odd RAW would place it's Championship match right before a Cena/Big Show submission match? Batista/Orton for the title isn't as important as Cena/Show? Did the writing staff eat paint chips as children?

If they dont want him as a main eventer then put him as a mid carder, but it diminishes the title when you have a guy you make look so weak. Raw is going to crap, Smackdown makes so much sense, raw should follow that lead.

If the injury is in fact legit the they may have felt that because the had too keep the match so short that it made more sense to have the longer Raw match last. Although that was a major screw up at the end of the Cena/Show match. Here's hoping Edge and Jeff save the show (again)

They built up Orton perfectly after the Royal Rumble...until WrestleMania. Here is Orton, the guy who won the Royal Rumble, took out Triple H, and then loses the WWE Championship in a 7 minute squash? Maybe Batista will make a heel turn...perhaps then his character can get some fresh air...

Is it just me or is this a terrible PPV in general? I'm glad Jericho won, and in the way he did, but other than that, this was a complete waste of money. Why is Cena vs Big Show higher in the card than a main title match? And they messed up the finish to make it even better. Batista is a FIVE time WWE champion. Is this a joke? They probably did this to set up Batista vs Cena at WM, maybe a triple threat. Probably get Cena/Batista/MVP or Punk vs Legacy (or a fourth member) to occupy the PPVs up until next April. This is ridiculous.

Very interesting point. It seems as of late the strategy of booking champions is to make heels look like weak cowards and faces (especially the kid's fan favorites) as supermen. I miss the days when heels were simply evil for evil's sakes, intelligent in their deceit/cheating, and just plain vicious.

I'm not upset about this main event, because I don't care about Orton or Batista in the slightest. I hope Batista doesn't drop the belt to Orton on Monday, they did that with Jericho and him last year and it made no sense then either. If anything, I'm more upset about Cena (who I'm a a fan of) beating Big Show AGAIN. Show has no more credibility. Honestly, Raw has sucked since the draft. I'mn actually praying fro Triple H to get back, because as much as his feud with Orton was meh, at least he is a good wrestler at the end of the day.

Even more reason why Orton should still be champion. It sounds like he has once again had another horrible title run. Making your top heel look like a joke, then having him lose the title, isnt the best way to keep him credible as your top heel.

As for Orton losing the belt, my guess is Triple H will be back soon.

Dude, we ain't gonna hate you for your opinion. We hate for different reasons, like race or eye color.

Here's how I would handle this: Make it Evolution all over again. Orton decides to get revenge on Batista by envoking a rematch clause on Raw tomorrow night, but he makes it a Fatal 4-Way so that Rhodes and DiBiase can help him, like they did against HHH in the Royal Rumble. Do a segment where Orton talks about how everyone's got each other's back as they walk down to the ring, giving no indication as to what is about to happen (I just jumped 100 minutes or so ahead, of course you have matches and stuff beforehand). Match begins, and stuff happens, and as Randy is about to hit the RKO on Batista, but Flair rushes the ring and goes wild on Orton. However in the ring we see Dibiase covering Batista and 1, 2, 3! Dibiase is your champion! Orton watches in disbelief, sets up a beautiful feud with the only other member of Legacy with talent.

I never could guess why re-making Evolution is everyone's solution to everything. Second only, perhaps, to a Cena heel turn. I like Orton as champ. I think he did good promos, especially with the Flair angle. And while I don't like that he lost to Batista, it DOES avoid yet another Orton-HHH or Orton-Cena feud. Then again, that could've made room for MVP.

I'm not a Batista fan, but I have noticed that Batista is usually at his best chasing the title, not retaining it. He'll probably have a short run. I can't imagine what will happen from here, but I would bet against a long Batista reign, especially with the looming return of HHH and the possible completion of Cena's feud with Show.

I actually like batista always have, he can wrestle better then wwe's other superman cena, and actually does look the part. No his mic skills arnt the best but if your playing the goldburg/brock lesner roll you character can get away with it.

I do wish orton kept the belt to help push his heel dominance and his group, but I like batista so im not to disapointed. Im surprised more people are crying over batista then they are CM Punk, I was a punk fan durring the beggining, but what he did tonight was the last straw, we all know jeff wasnt gonna keep the belt for long, but to loose it right away was wrong.

About Batista though, if the rumors are true about Batista's injury I can see a nonsensical plot where Orton retains the title again on Monday and either Cena comes out or HHH makes an early return in hopes of bringing up the ratings.

I do have to question creative's logic behind this move though, or lack thereof. Why take the belt off of orton if they plan on putting it right back on him? Which we all know there's about a 90 percent chance that is what will happen. I do love the idea one poster had about a title tournament though, it's been far too long since we've seen one and I would love to see another, even if it does end us up rigt back where we started in Orton regaining the strap.


I guess I will reserve judgement on creative until we see what they throw at us tommorrow night. Truth be told, i'm more excited to see smackdown friday than I am raw tomorrow. I also can't wait for the Cm Punk threads to start pouring in.

Who's to say he can't hold both titles? I always liked the idea of a guy holding multiple titles. It makes them look more dominant in my opinion. Even though MVP isn't exactly a guy that I would call "dominate" but having him rock more gold would give him more bragging rights. Even if he held the U.S. title for a month and then dropped it, it would still be kind of cool seeing a guy have two titles.

I just don't want to see Orton with the belt for a while. As much as I find him boring, he isn't AS boring when he is chasing the title. When he has it, it sort of falls apart it seems.

I am so happy Batista is champion.

First of all, he plays his role better than anyone on Raw. Knock him all you want, but he's a 300 pound body builder with a mean streak. He picks people up and throws them down. That is his job. I guess you guys would like him better if he did a few flips and had a nonsensical match with no psychology like Evan Bourne.

Secondly, the crowd loves him. No one on Raw gets a bigger pop than Batista. For all the complaints from the IWC about his getting shoved down their throats, the live crowd never seems to mind. The place explodes for him, and chants his name endlessly. When Flair was getting beaten, the WHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOs stopped, and the Batista chants were in full throat.

There is not a number of flying tiger space drops that can make a match more exciting than one the crowd is into. This is why the cruisers get shit on, and Batista gets pushed. He gets the crowd involved, they love him, he makes the WWE money. Evan Bourne and Jamie Noble are good bathroom break guys. People don't complain that they're on, but they definitely aren't the reason the mass populace watches the show.

It's just too bad it was Batista that got hurt tonight. His title reigns are usually fun, albeit short, and the match he loses the title in is always very exciting. Here's to Batista - Raw's best champion!
