oh dear god. I just looked up some FVWA vids on yootoob after that "Heretic" link and...

You guys are awesome. I really wish I was like you. Never before in my life have I seen so many WWE & TNA moves ripped off and botched so well as in your promotion. And you all seem to be terribly fat or ridiculously scrawny yet you can pull off such 5 star vids as the ones I've seen (that in itself speaks volumes for the kids of today). You even manage to get midgets in on the act too. So touching.

If I ever become a millionaire, I'm gonna buy you guys out, just so I can employ you to jump off the roof of my mansion into some stinging nettles, just for my sick, twisted, millionaire pleasures.

Whatever man. You're entitled to your opinion. All of that happened 5 years ago now. And you know what? It was fun.

And our midget went on to be Hornswoggle in WWE. haha. (Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing in your eyes, just sayin' don't be bashing our midget.)

Whoa, you've got a point. I mean, what was TNA just five years ago? I appreciate you're smaller but, let me just do the calculations, with that rate of growth... Wow, you've had your Pay-Per-View and TV deal for a while now, huh? Those paychecks make all those years of fucking yourself up for no good reason worthwhile now, huh? A nice, tidy profit. I'm sorry you lost your midget though. Must've been hard.

Wow, people seriously hating on backyarders are sad. While I wouldn't do it (backyard wrestle)myself I find it completely moronic to bash those that do. Who gives a shit if they want to do it, and why can't they pose a question looking to speak with fellow backyarders without being called idiots by people that don't? That's like someone going into a D&D thread calling them geeks. "Wherz ur poket protektorz."

Um, what the FUCK?? I forgot you were admin of this site.

Let me clue you in on something. This thing here, is what we call a FORUM. If you post a thread, any person is free to come here and express any veiws they want about said thread subject. So stop your bitching. If there was a D&D thread, and people thought D&D was fucking stupid, they would be more than allowed to do so. And the people who play D&D could probably come up with tons more rational reasons for enjoying the game then you guys do hurtling your bodies off of roofs for nothing. At least build a fucking ring, and even attempt looking like something other than absolutely moronic. I cant say much else that others havent said. Its enormously stupid, and worth nothing. You guys are nothing more than human freak show cattle. Sad, you think thats something to glorify, you enjoy that role. Its because you dont know that everyone is laughing AT you, not WITH you. Please sighn up for classes at community college or some shit, and attempt contributing something to the world.

I'm not going to hate on you guys for doing what you want, but I mean, these guys are right. You're trying to kill yourself so you can impress some goth chick or fat chick, and maybe have ugly babies with your toothless woman.

OK, I am going to hate.

Maybe you could parlay it into a career as a stuntman, or tackling dummy.

hahaha, jesus christ. That's not what I was saying at all. Quit putting words into my mouth. It was just a hobby man. We weren't looking to have PPV's or TV deals. I haven't wrestled since back then. Most of the guys have either retired, or went pro. I really don't understand why you are getting all fired up about this.

Where did I once say that I was a backyarder? I never did it, because it isn't my style. I simply stated that I think it's silly to bash people that do backyard because it's simply their prerogative. Maybe you should take some community college classes "or some shit" and learn how to read a post and contribute something that at least responds correctly to what I typed. Good job looking like an idiot. The original thread starter just wanted to know if anyone else did it and all of a sudden the flamethrowers started insulting what he does with various insults. Hell, you threw quite a few at me in your post, and now you look like an ass because I never said I partake in backyarding. Fucking tool. This place will mod anyone it seems....

Hey there, have a nice little infraction for flaming smart guy. And maybe YOU should still check into some comunity college classes, or some shit, and figure out the first part of my post was directed at you, and the secon part was in general to everyone else.

Unless, of course, your birth name is "you guys", then I appologize, and we have had a huge misunderstanding. other wise, Im pretty sure "you guys" indicates that im speaking to a larger group of readers besdes you. Nice try though :)

And as Jake said earlier, you would like to say this is flaming, but alas, this isnt. its merely pointing out the stupidity of this activity, and why its stupid. Which I will gladly do again for you.

*Pokes at the embers of a dying fire*

I think Backyard Wrestling is very stupid. Not only are you endangering your own well being, but that of others as well. I'm not saying that I have never gone out and put some holds on my brothers or friends. But to just go out there and do all this crazy shit is ridiculous. I was stupid for doing what I did. I was young and stupid. I learned not to do that shit. It's just a bad idea to do anything like this without the proper training. There is a reason WWE asks you to "Not try this at Home". People need to take that to heart.

Alright, I'm going to lay down my opinion on backyard wrestling. I reckon if peformed safely while the wrestlers have actually gained some wrestling training, nothing is wrong with them going out into their backyard with some experience and entertaining for free, people over the internet. I absolutely enjoy backyard wrestling, mostly the professionally presented backyard wrestling federations or ones with some of such. Professional wrestling can sometimes be a pain in the ass and instead of watching the indies that I'm not too fond of, BYW becomes an alternative.

But, I absolutely despise the acts of those that go out there and put on a smash fest instead of a wrestlefest and find delight in it. I can't believe people enjoy smashing each other with light tubes, bleeding, jumping off roofs, landing on thumbtacks and barbed wire the whole match and turn around and tell themselves and/or parents they love it. That is not even wrestling without even pulling off couple of professionally trained moves in at least, a tidy environment because as we know and how it has been years ago, BYW was presented in a trashy atmosphere. Although, however, we've come to see some better out of BYW. Cleaner areas, mat bases, tramp bases, and pro ring bases.

I've watched a BYW federation from 2006 to present entitled XBW Wrestling. They are a mattress federation that began in the Fall of 1999 (as just young kids) created by their leader (cause he was eldest) named Nemesis (character name) aka Michael (real name) who was killed in a bicycle accident at 17 that had his friends and brother continue the fed in tribute to him and entitled one of their supercards dedicated to him as In Memory Of...

Futhermore, XBW (google it) is nearing an official end as soon as they post their remaining episodes of their last season in which after they will release a DVD of their federation through a production company. They managed to be very successful with previously over a record of 100+ members/fans on their forums and had the acquirement of over 30+ wrestlers throughout the years. The one thing with them was that they wrestled safely on a mattress and maintained their fed mainly due to their characters, storyline, feuds and overall flashes of humor in between. The wrestling was also good on most occassions. They aren't dangerously crazy as some feds are which wrestlers take extremely physical and life-threatening bumps on hard surfaces. XBW plays it safe simultaneously with producing entertainment and is mainly why I found respect for BYW.

So where I'm getting at are there are some federations that value their safety and protect it and not just recklessly, idiotically jeopardize (or potentially) their well-being which in the end, labels BYW a pretty bad name.

On a side note, there is also a BYW phenomenon site that has been launched since 2006 playing host to several of them out there within an intercommunity that goes by GBYWN, Global Backyard Wrestling News. Check it out if interested: http://backyardwrestlingnews.webs.com/ Lots of feds, some with potential talent.

Backyard wrestling IMO is just stupid. It's not going to get you anywhere. It's really dangerous, and it could have the potential to seriously injure or kill someone. But if the backyard wrestlers want to take the risks to entertain about five people then that's up to them.

I used to wrestle my brother on my tramoline once, just to try it out, and I accidentally nearly hurt him. I've learnt from that mistake. Other people should learn not to Backyard wrestle. There is no point to it, so stop it now while you've still got your health.

YOU SIR ARE SOCIALLY ******ED. THE IDEA OF YOUTH IS TO HAVE FUN AND TAKE RISKS WHILE U CAN BFORE U GET OLD AND BORING, BUT U ARE ALREADY THERE! GO BACK TO DOING MATH AND PLAYIN WITH YOUR IMAGINARY FRIENDS! GAY:icon_exclaim:

That must be why a good portion of Backyard wrestlers are in their late teeens and early 20's. At an age where most people are starting to grow up, or already have done so. Desperate to be accepted they risk crippling themselves to entertain 10 people who, coincidently, are there only to watch them get crippled.

My friends aren't imaginary. They're on the internet. GAY :icon_exclaim:

^^ lol internet friends

On topic:
I personally think that backyard wrestling is stupid, but other people dont.

People smoke, do drugs and thats stupid 'in my opinion,' but people do it anyways, but it wont affect my life at all if they keep smoking or if they quit. Because I dont care.

Same with backyard wrestling. I think its stupid, and you'll never see me doing any of that shit,
but if other people want to do it, then its their business, and it shouldnt be that big of a deal.

Even though a lot of people that do backyard wrestling are usually unattractive, out of shape, unsanitary, nerdy, virgins that only wear ECW or Metallica shirts and play videogames all day, still
if they wanna do it, let them do it, because it wont make my life any better/worse than it already is

The only backyard wrestling I enjoy, is the feds that started as yarders, went on and became trained, and wrestled in the yard again. A few feds I can remember (VCW in Canada and some other one in Ohio) had legit professional rings and mostly trained rosters, they worked intelligent matches with good psychology, and still did the risky backyard bumps.

Better than CZW, ROH, even the big promotions in terms of quality.

as a person who actually paid to go to a wrestling school and is currently in an actual promotion i am sicken at these stupid kids thinking that a trampoline is a wrestling ring ... these people think that after a couple hours of watching a stupid little how to wrestle they can well they are wrong u can get seriously hurt .... it takes years to learn how to do it .... it takes most people at least 6 months b4 u get involved in a match and i hope young kids stay away from the stupidness thing called back yard wrestling

Hmm, Backyard Wrestling is pretty stupid.

There is a high risk of getting badly injured. I have seen one video of a guy giving another guy a death valley driver (I think) off the top of a roof through a table. To the best of my knowledge I don't think there was anything under the table except grass but from the top of a roof, grass won't do much. If people want to actually become a wrestler then they should just go to a wrestling school. I would, but I don't think I physically could. I have some stupid blood pressure thing where I get dizzy and/or faint when I lift heavy things or rigorous physical activity.

The people who wrestle in these Backyard Feds must be seriously dyslexic. Are they not able read the warning that WWE puts on before every show?

Although, it does provide some laughs for myself.

Yeah, I think it's completely stupid. Why would you do that? There's a reason WWE warns you against them. Look at how many wrestlers get injured every single year. Cena, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker. They're some of the biggest stars in the industry, and all have had a lot of injuries. They have been trained harder than anyone. They were working with complete professionals. And still they had injuries, some career threatening. So what makes you safe?

You guys need to stop confusing Backyard Wrestling with Backyard Utter Hardcore or Backyard Stuntfest. Those idiotic, stupid jumps off roofs is not wrestling. Smashing people with cheese graters or excoriating them with barbed wire solely throughout a performance isn't either. Now, I'll respect the opinions of those who have posted before me and everything, but I'd also like to stand my case and in defense of this ongoing phenomenon. You see, what everyone needs to understand is that mainstream pro wrestling just ain't doing much anymore, making people having to feel the need to create their own playground for online entertainment. They want to follow their own regulations, create their own storylines and characters.

Yes, a non-profit league hosted in an unsanctioned environment (running the risk of injury... maybe and hopefully not in consideration) in front of little to no crowd although backed by the internet is what I feel I can appreciate from those with atleast trained ability in a semi-pro-like setting to give me a free show. I mean, there are very talented backyard promotions out there such as IYHWA that truly exhibit technical prowess safely and skillfully as well as such love and passion for the sport and continue to test and develop themselves until the usually impending situation where they opt to go pro.

Let's take an outlook at things. Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Sandman, New Jack and likely more, have all started somewhere, they have all started in backyard wrestling. My god, where is Jeff and Matt today? Well they are far in WWE. Sandman and New Jack somewhat made it in pro wrestling. Point is, as BYW has evolved from its ridiculous wrecklessness, it sees skill now and innovation as usually pre-trained performers enhance their craft. Itsso much more watchable. Bottomline is I think BYW is the pro wrestling motivator. It's creating plenty pro wrestlers and I think in an aspect, it should be positively regarded. I say play it safe and sound but definitely to go pro eventually.

Out of all the wrestlers you mentioned, Matt Hardy is the only one who isn't a physical wreck. What does that say? It probably says that out off most of the backyard wrestlers he was a lot more careful, and not half as wreckless as all of those other stupid backyward wrestlers.

Jeff Hardy might be a millionaire. But he's got drug problems and will probably be in a wheelchair before he's 40.

Here is a link to a very credible backyard fed they have amazing athletic talent. These men pull off maneuvers you don't get to see in the Big 2 because of fear of injury I dare you to watch these 2kw wrestlers not superstars. Watch them defy and amaze you and hopefully give you a different light on the subject of backyard wrestling.

The 2KW Wrestling Federation started back in early 1999, as a no name federation created by young superstars such as Vinny Mac, SyNN, and Kid Krazy. Taking the idea of the federation as a joke, The superstars decided to air the show on Manhattan Neighborhood Network (MNN) and was seen throughout the entire island of Manhattan. With constant e-mails coming in ranting and raving with good reviews, The Federation decided to try and test the waters with a more serious tone. As 2000 came along, superstars such as Jackal, Reaper, Grifter, and Saylo arrived, joining to create a much bigger roster. As the years progressed, nearly 300 different competitors have passed through the 2KW federation, with the roster today staying at a steady 30+ Competitors. Through countless publicity including two UPN news articles about the show (The first article was to trash backyard wrestling, but due to positive reviews, they did a follow-up story to show how much has changed) Footage airing on the Best of Backyard Wrestling, and even appearing on Maxim Magazine's B-There Volume 2 DVD, 2KW has pushed themselves further than most backyard wrestling federations. We try to avoid all the stereotypes of backyard wrestling, as we take away the use of weapons and introduce a ruling system to allow superstars to showcase their true wrestling talent.

This is different to the stereotypical backyard wrestling fed. However, the WWE outlaws some moves for risk of injury, and when you think about it these guys have a lot more chance of injuring themselves by doing moves that while they may look cool, they're not actually going to get you anywhere. This particular fed is just backyard wrestling without weapons, but still holds the risk of injury moreso than WWE, which is the same with all backyard wrestling feds. It may look impressive, but has anybody from this fed actually gone anywhere with wrestling, or is it just guys that decided to start a small wrestling fed because they knew they couldn't make it in the Big 2?

So I'm guessing that means you were impressed by them. It said in the paragraph I attached to the videos that they started for fun with no intention of going pro. They've wrestled in high school gyms as well as the parks etc. How many Indy promotions wrestle in High School Gyms. Most of them.2kw has alot of ring shows. They've been featured on DVDs and news articles. They've even been featured in a news segment that talks about how Backyard Wrestling is changing. It is changing because of promotions like these. I refuse to watch bullshit with light tube shots and glass tables. But promotions like these are a nice breath of fresh air that if kids are gonna do this shit there are groups out there like 2kw that wanna do it as safely as possible.

Anybody who watches shit with lightubes and other crap is just tstupid. Anybody who actually does it is stupider. But this promotion still is stupid. They're wrestling outside a playground. Come on. And they're using fucking steel fences as ropes. How can you tell me that's not stupid. And they're risking injury for nothing. But what is the point of any backyard wrestling fe? Even if groups steer away from all the weapons, there is still a high chance to get injured and when you think about it, there is no real point to it anyway.

So you've never went outside to your backyard or a playground and wrestled with your friends or brothers? When you were younger did you make titles and pretend u were the boss or a wrestler? These guys are doing that but they're older. They are doing it for fun. I do it and I do it for fun. I'm not trying to convince you to like it. If you think its stupid thats on you. But I enjoy it and I think people who do enjoy it shouldn't be blasted for having fun.

No actually, I haven't. I was offered to join a backyard wrestling fed with 6 of my friends, but I told them I didn't want to break my neck. :lmao: Anyway, people are allowed to post their opinion on backyard wrestling in this threa. If they want to bash it, that's ok. If you know that you can do all the moves properly, and you have a safe environment to do it in, then it's ok. But I haven't seen any feds that can do the moves properly and know they're safe. You can tell by watching that somebody's going to get hurt.

Just figured i'd throw in my two cents, but a ton of the 2KW have gone through professional training to learn the proper ways to bump and land while teaching their experiences onto the next person to come together as a whole to just have fun while maintaining it all in a very safe environment. 2KW performs to entertain fans of wrestling, and show that even without the confides of a ring and such, there are still talented people who may not have the privilege of being able to afford the few thousand dollars for a wrestling school, but shouldn't be overlooked for over all talent. I'm pretty sure if you got off your high horses for a minute and checked out some of the action with an unbiased eye based of the stereotype label of BYW, then you might actually enjoy it a bit.

As far as who has gone where from this certain federation? Jack Evans is a HUGE supporter of 2KW while a ton of these guys have wrestled professional shows throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. Homicide has actually come down before to show some support, and Valentina/J-Love of XPW fame actually started out wrestling in 2KW.

To wrap it up, most of these guys actually just enjoy the sport of wrestling and don't want to make this a living for themselves. They are more than content with going out and having some fun when they get the chance, just like any other street sport such as street baseball, playing football in a local park, or soccer, basketball, etc.

and P.S.

For being so "Dangerous" and unable to perform the maneuvers properly as some people would state, we've actually had less injuries in the past five years combined than WWE suffered this year alone and guess what? we wrestle just about twice a week. So much for all that wreckless wrestling, huh.
