This thread had been tried before on this forum and I would like to see it flourish. If not by week, than maybe later by month. This is where you can nominate the athlete who you believe was the best of the week from the Thursday until the Wednesday of the next week. But you can really judge by any period frame.
For this weeks athlete of the week, because it is a Tuesday, I choose an obvious choice in the hockey world, a great rival team of ours the goalie for the San Jose Sharks, Evgeni Nabokov. He went 2-0-1, and only allowed three goals against over those three games to get his team 5 points out of 6. Most impressively was the way he handled the Pittsburgh Penguins, posting a shutout against the Crosby team.
