Ask RVDGurl

I am not a hockey fan; just can't into it. Although it appears as though I will be dragged along to a few Hershey Bear games this season.

Apparently Sidney Crosby wasnt a savior to one. I despised Hockey before he showed up in P.A. Now hockey owns, but baseball and football are better :headbanger:

OMG. I already asked football, now who is your favorite baseball team, and player. And Why?

It's been kinda embarassing the past couple of years, but I'm an Orioles fan. And as a result, I usually am overcome with frustration and lose interest in baseball by the all star break.

I have 2 all time favorite players: Cal Ripken and Greg Maddux. Obviously as an Orioles fan, I firmly believe that Mr. Ripken is so great that he will sit at the right hand of the Father when he dies. There has been no other player in the history of the game that is as classy as Cal. Greg Maddux was like a god to me when I was learning the mental aspect of pitching (obviously I was a pitcher). I learned how to mix pitches and spot the ball by watching him perform. He truly was the best in the game at his prime.

Holy S*** i love Greg Maddux. When i was learning how to become a pitcher, even though that didnt work out so well, i spent hours and hours of watching Film on him because he is truly remarkable because he has over 300 wins w/o ever having the high 90's fast ball. He was able to mix in great breaking pitches, he had a good change up, and a good two seamer. All his pitches have movement which truly makes him great. I have his rookie card on like 3 different types of baseball cards, and i am trying my hardest to find his autograph. Anyways i am Pirate fan and i am used too watching them lose. Don't let it get to you.

are you as sad about the closing of the Santino Fan-A Club as I am?

I dont want to kill the whole Maddux vibe but has anyone else noticed that he has his own strike zone?

thats all

Why is the Santino thread closed?

The Santino thread does not appear to be closed. There's no lock on it. Who said it was going to be closed? This is the first I'm hearing of this, as well. First, Jake gets another e-girlfriend and now the Satino thread is being closed- I'm out of the the loop.

Of course he does- he's one of the greatest pitchers in the history of the game. You also need to remember that the front corners of the plate count, too. His pitches have so much movement that they cross the front corners and end up an inch outside by the time the catcher gets it.

Why do you like RVD?

RVD got me interested in wrestling again back in '95. There was a 2 or 3 year period before that where I didn't watch wrestling. A friend of mine discovered ECW and said "hey, you gotta see this Rob Van Dam guy; you'll love him". I saw one match and I was hooked. At that time, RVD was doing things in the ring that no one else was doing. He was fresh, innovative and completely blew me away.

You should have resolved that arguments by saying the best get the close calls. Clemens has his own k zone,so does Schilling, Santana, Johnson. All good pitchers do. When you continuously hit the same spot over and over again you are gonna get calls. thats how Greg Maddux roles.

Well said, sir! So if ya didn't know...now ya know.

I hear the ban train =O

Do you remember seeing RVD for the first time on TV?

I remember the first time I saw him was when I was in 11th grade, so that would've been in late '95. I don't remember who he wrestled, but that match saved me as a wrestling fan.
