As A Wrestler, Does Tyson Kidd Remind You Of Chris Benoit?

4LC

Dark Match Winner
I think he has the potential to be the next chris benoit, he has that ruthless agression and intensity, a good build, great in ring ability, very technical, submission specialist, can fly but doesnt always (same deal with benoit), can brawl, can rock an instrumental entrance song, has the same type of training from the hart dungeon, both canadian.

Thoughts? Do you agree? Disagree?

MODERATOR'S NOTE:
This is about Chris Benoit, the wrestler, not the human being. Stay on topic.

I think he could be the next Chris Benoit in a Cruiserweight Division but I don't see him being at the level Chris Benoit ever got too, not unless he bulks up a little. Benoit actually looked believable fighting a 250/260lb main event wrestler. I just don't think Tyson would look believable in that fight like he would actually win.

I saw the title so I had to read it. Honestly there is nothing about Kidd that reminds me of benoit aside from them both being canadian. I would give the Benoit comparison to Daniel Bryan. Extremely technical, bland on the mic. Serious most of the time and very intense and believable inside and outside the ring

No I deffinately agree with you he deffinately has the poential to be the next Chris Benoit however as Jeff said he is of a different weight division. If the Cruiserweight Weight division actually kicks off then I hope that he is more or less the face of the division. He is a phenominal wrestler and as the OP said he has many characteristics the same as Benoit. I for one would like to see Tyson start winning matches and build a reputation that is more than just than 'yea he's a great wrestler but he is only a jobber because he makes his opponent look good', he is a great wrestler and deserves more than to job on NXT.

yet another thread saying someone is gonna be the next (insert legends name here) and while sometimes it fits this one just doesnt make any sense to me i see nothing alike in tyson kidd and chris benoit with their in ring styles, their gimmicks or anything like that if wwe wanted someone to be the next chris benoit it would be daniel bryan as he already uses the cross face/lebell lock as a finisher and could easily do german suplexs and a diving headbutt but they dont want another chris benoit

But I agree that Danielson is more of a Benoit type guy.
Tyson Kidd reminds me of Tyson Kidd. I still dont like comparing wrestlers to any other wrestlers under any circumstance.
It kind of devalues them imo because you are thinking of them as another person..

My problem with Daniel Bryan (and I maybe wrong, I never saw him in his RoH days) but I just don't see him as a bad ass. Benoit was a bad ass. He walked out and you knew someone was going to get their ass kicked. Daniel Bryan comes out and I know it will be a back and forth match. At least with Kidd I can see him being a bad ass, as long as it is in a Cruiser weight Division. Tyson Kidd coming out and trying to be a bad ass against Big Show would just be stupid.

Good lord. Hell no. There are numerous wrestlers who remind me of Chris Benoit but Tyson Kidd, fuck off with that. Tyson Kidd has never showed me the aggression Benoit possessed. Everytime Benoit wrestled, it looked real. He'd chop your chest to shits while always connecting with the crowd. Benoit was one hell of an athlete but I can't imagine how he compares to Tyson Kidd besides a select few categories. I agree with "theneverendingnightmare", you people have to stop comparing wrestlers because of a few stupid reasons. Tyson is a great athlete but he's not or never will be on Chris Benoit's level in terms of over with the crowd, relevancy or anywhere near as gifted.

whatever, the closest he will be to being anybody is the next brian kendricks. and only in kendricks rockstar persona. when he had a body guard and was wearing the white leather. he may be similair to benoit in training, but nothing else. he would need a gimmick change big time to even come close to being even kendrick. at least brian was a interm world champion(in the whole title chase match) but i dont even see kidd getting that far

The only guy I see to be a new Chris Benoit is Davey Richards. They're both bad asses and technically sound. Danielson reminds me a lot of Dean Malenko. Tyson Kidd is just Tyson Kidd, which isn't bad because most people just want to be themselves, not anybody else.

Tyson Kidd is very talented, but he is by far away from being that next Chris Benoit. The next Chris Benoit is Daniel Bryan, as he does the suicide dive, millions of suplexes, constant supply of submission holds, including crossface, diving headbutt, suicide dive, and agressive fighting technique.

Another man that reminds me of Benoit is Davey Richards, for a lot of reasons.

Yes, Tyson Kidd does remind me a little bit of Chris Benoit with his in ring aggression. And maybe even a tad bit in appearances.

No, I don't think Tyson Kidd will murder the Hart Family.

Joe Hennig(I don't know how to spell his other name) reminds me a little bit of Chris Benoit as far as his current look and in ring moves.

No, Kidds family is still alive.

(Piss Jus beat me too it)

FINE FINE on topic, No, there styles feel different and they lack the same presence. they are similar but not that similar. Kidd is in bad need of a main event push mind, he could be a damn good Ray retirement fued or even a feud for that one from the coore i forget the name of... the safa.

I don't think he's the next Benoit, and I'm agreeing with Ham and saying there will never be another Benoit. Just like there will never be another Latino Heat, Bret Hart, Kurt Angle, Steve Austin, Triple H, Ric Flair, etc etc. I think Kidd is a great athlete and performer and will most likely be one of the leaders of the new CW division alongside Bryan and a couple others. Since Kidd is still very young and early in his career I think one day we'll be able to put him in the same category as Eddie, Benoit, Hart, Jericho, and Malenko as one of the best technical performers. I have high hopes for Kidd.

.......................nope. Don't see it, fellah. If Daniel Bryan becomes a bit more aggressive, he could be much similar to the style of Benoit, but here's my question; why does anybody need to be the next anybody. I'm much more interested in seeing new stars created who are as original and interesting as they can be.

When I look at Tyson Kidd. I see a young inexperienced Brett Hart. Tyson has finesse , speed, agility and a signature look. He would do well if he was managed by Brett. I think that could really get him over but Chris Benoit = NEVER.

Davey Richards is Chris Benoit Resurrected. He is a legitimate bad ass, can hurt you in many ways, a mixed martial artists and has more styles than Cher. And just like Chris, Davey SUCKS on the mic...lol

Daniel Bryan is another Chris Benoit type wrestler. He lacks the agression and that something like the OP said that you know you are going to get your butt kicked. Daniel is still a good guy - indie guy persona. But technically, he is another Benoit.

why dont you actually watch all of tyson kidds matches and let his career unfold before u just assume there is no common elements, like i said, exact same training, same wrestling style i know kidds more of a high flyer but you know benoit was a high flyer too once upon a time in japan, if tyson kidd can bulk up to around 220-230 (which isnt impossible because just like benoit he fucking loves to workout all the time), he has the same intensity as benoit u cant deny that, if u do deny it then u need to watch his match vs db from a few weeks ago on SD, hell they're even wanting to give him a manager to give him a push because he lacks charisma the same way benoit did hmm sound familiar, i know its called 2000 chris benoit having shane mcmahon as his manager when he got pushed to feud with the rock, ya obviously his reaction from the crowd isnt going to be as good as a 2004-2007 benoit but ive watched alot of benoit from 2000-2007, on tv, seen him live a few times, and ive watched a whole wack of his wcw and japan matches. i like DB too but hes not the next chris benoit i dont know where u get off saying that, just because hes technical? ya ya dolph zigglers technical to can he be the next brett hart? give me some more points so i can see your point of view. ive listed many characteristics and qualities tyson kidd shares with chris benoit and they are all true

I can almost see Tyson Kidd being in the same vein as Benoit. My problem is with Kidd's size.

Now, the fact that he has the Hart Family training doesn't say much. Lance Storm had that training, and we don't compare him with Benoit, or the Dynamite Kid from an earlier generation.

Who knows where Kidd will go. He has a ton of potential and could eventually became a major midcard talent.

This is a troll question right? Because if your actually being serious then you need help, Benoit was one of a kind and no one will ever be able to replace him as he was. Tyson Kidd sucks and i don't see why everyone sees potential in him, there are tons of good wrestlers with way more talent actually on the main roster. He is just another one of those idiotic generic wrestlers who is most likely going to be released in within the next year or so.

Hell no he is not the next Benoit that title belongs to Danial Bryan seeing they wrestle alike and there finishing submission holds are similar in comparison. Tyson Kidd to me reminds me of the Next Owen Hart with both having technical ability and fly around the ring damn near the same... To be honest everytime I see Kidd wrestle I see Owen in the ring when he was wrestling in the early 90's and in Japan, so to answer the question NO Tyson Kidd is nothing like Benoit other than both being Canadian, both have ties to the Hart Family, and both graduating out of the Hart Dungeon, AGAIN TYSON KIDD IS THE NEXT OWEN HART if anyone.....

Yeah I'm of the opinion that Tyson Kidd wrestles more like the Hart Brothers. It's very obvious he came from the Hart Dungeon like Benoit, but Benoit seemed more like his own guy. Tyson reminds me of both Bret & Owen.

When I see tyson kidd, I see owen hart. He has that perfect mix between being a high flyer, and a straigh technical wrestler. Chris benoit was more like the dynamite kid. He was a strong, stiff, powerhouse type wrestler trapped in the body of a high flyer. And bret hart had crazy good technical ability, but never really was a flyer. The occasional suicide dive, yes, but that was about it. So I'm sticking with owen hart.
