Now you may be thinking to yourself, "Why would I endorse a guy who brutally murdered his wife and child?" Why would I waste my effort on a person like that? Well, I have this innate ability to separate the wrestler from the person. Maybe you should try it sometime. I do have a moral compass but if I'm going to go around condemning people for wrongdoings, I'll get tired. Stone Cold beat his wife and the lot of you still cheer for him, so let me have my moment and root for my favorite wrestler to win this tournament as he deserves to. Besides, who can't help but love a guy like this?

Chris Benoit is one of the best in-ring workers of all-time. From Stampede to NJPW to WCW and WWE, he amazed us with his technical prowess, intensity, and grace inside the squared circle. To those who note his lack of mic skills, I will say, "Fuck you and your mic skills." Benoit is a manly man who let his actions do the talking and boy did they ever talk. Make a wrong move and he would capitalize. Slip up once and he'll put that Crippler Crossface on you and you'll commence to tapping like a bitch. Just ask HHH and HBK and almost every other wrestler he has faced in his career. He can thrive in any and every environment. I hearken back to the Wrestling Olympics tournament we had a while back. Some moron stated that Benoit wouldn't know what to do in Hell in a Cell. It's a cage with a roof. I'm pretty sure Benoit has been in cage matches before.

He laughs at the thought of a submission match, spits in the face of TLC, chuckles at ladder and cage matches. Chris Benoit plus a dog collar equals a possible fatality. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

So do the right thing and vote for Chris Benoit to win this year's Wrestlezone Tournament. After all, if Edge get to the finals of one then Benoit certainly and will - win.

Stone Cold beat his wife of completely sound mind. Chris Benoit had advanced stage dimensia and a badly damaged brain from repeated concussory impact.

    Unfair comparison.

I know people will prefer to take the easy way out, and say 'DERP HE WUZ JUS EVUL KILLER HE USED DA CROSSFACES ON DANYUL" but the studies were carried out, and the facts are facts. if you disagree, I invite you to do some volunteer work with dimensia paitents, as I have.

Vote Benoit, and dont condemn someone for brain damage.

I'll be on your side for a while. I would love to help push Benoit deep into this tournament this year, but...

Alluding to Benoit doing something fatal to another wrestler, especially involving possible strangulation, probably won't help the cause.

Who could possibly beat him in a dog collar match? Nobody that's who.

I endorse this because Benoit was fantastic in the ring. In ring facts\accolades should speak for themselves in the tournament- not outside situations.

My impish side loves this thread title.

But Chris Benoit? If we're going to have a strict discussion that concerns only his professional wrestling ability, he was a great performer. Compared to the issue of who he was as a person, how important is that? I look at it as the Pete Rose rule. Pete Rose was the greatest hitter in baseball history, with the possible exception of Ty Cobb. He'll never be in the Hall of Fame however, because as a person, he disgraced his profession.

I can say Chris Benoit was a very good professional wrestler (take a drink for overrating a dead professional wrestler, btw), but I can't champion a cause of his. Evil gremlins didn't crawl inside of his mind, pull some misfiring neurons around and force him to kill his wife and son; brain damage isn't a reason or an excuse, but an explanation.

I enjoy horrible dead kid jokes in the context of a joke, really, and I'm going to giggle when someone inevitably criticizes my sense of humor. Unlike the WWE, I don't want Chris Benoit to fade into the ether. His story has done good after the fact; it was one of the watermarks for increased concussion awareness, not just in professional wrestling, but in sports in general. But on the other side of the same coin, I don't want to honor him and have to qualify it every time with "except for that whole murder thing".

I'm no expert so in the long history of professional wrestling I can't think of (or want to think of) 128 guys that are better professional wrestlers. But I would hope and expect the guys who set up this tournament can.

He screwed Benoit twice out of the world title. We never forget.

Shawn Michaels can go fuck himself, Benoit is a much better candidate for the greatest in-ring performer of the modern era. Owen Hart wasnt World Champion material, just so we are clear that I dont tend to overrate the dead.

Benoit was fantastic in the ring, and one of my favorites of the late 90's until his death. Loved his battles with Kevin Sullivan. He has my vote, no question.
