Are You tired of Brodus Clay squash matches?

Tensai has moved on from squashes and is on regular matches, has pinned John Cena, is sort of feuding with Tyson Kidd because he beat him etc etc.

Damian Sandow still technically does squash matches but he his mic skills set him apart, and he´s sorta in a program with Zack Ryder right now so that means hes moving on, and he just debuted in his first MITB ladder match of his career.

Ryback went throught every indy jobber in the country in 3 months and now has defeated Curt Hawkins, Tyler Reks and their tag team in a way that shows weakness but his massive strenght put him over the top at the end of the fight and he pummeled Jack Swagger Tonight..... so he continues to feed on the wwe landscape unchallenged......

Brodus Clay showed glimpses of half starting programs with the Big Show and David Otunga but he is the only one of the new 4 stuck with random squash matches.... why?

Im seriously bored with this guy, the dancing with the kids doesnt work on me and there is so much attention he can borrow from Naomi and Cameron....
DO you feel the same as me or do you still like Brodus? I feel he´s stuck right now and he hasnt shown advancement lately. At the same time you cant push 4 new guys at the same time right?

I agree it's getting old quick, plus he's beating the same jobbers over and over again like Hawkins and JTG. Why don't they put him in a real feud?i think him and Big Show could have a good Supeeheavyweight feud if booked right.

Like pepentorres said, he had half-started programs with Big Show and Otunga, he did a few skits with Santino, but didn't go anywhere from there. And why not?

Watch WM 28 again. Brodus Clay had a bigger pop than Orton/Kane/Rhodes/Big Show combined. AND was placed later in the show AND had an actual entrance, unlike the aforementioned who just.. walk down the ramp because they have no character whatsoever.

It's a good thing that WWE picked an off the wall gimmick for Brodus because it's the breath of the fresh air fans need in between horribly worked promos/matches/divas.

Has he advanced lately? No, not really. But does he need to? No. Ziggler, Sandow, those guys need to.

In my opinion, Sandow shouldn't be working with Ryder, a guy who's already established himself as an illegitimate threat in the ring.

I'd book Sandow and Brodus. What's the opposite of intellectual cocky-ness? A dancing funkasaurus who squashes people.

But, I'm not the WWE. They'll probably mess it all up somehow, because they ARE the WWE.

U meant Swagger dominated Ryback? And I agree Clay is getting stale fast. The crowd was just about dead the whole time. EVEN the sexy ass dancers aren't really getting a reaction now. There are only so many jobbers you can fight. They guy needs a serious overhaul.

He needs a feud or an overhaul like an above poster said. Ryback is making baby steps forward now, and Clay should be on to bigger opponents by now to. I liked him in the beginning as it was fresh. Now it is just getting lame. Someone else mentioned creative wouldn't know how to write a feud for him, and I definitely agree with that to. He is a fun character, but I think it has ran its course. It is probably at the point now where they keep him like this for the kids.

Yeah no doubt...the Brodus and Ryback squash matches are way out of hand. That invincible shit is boring, and the dancing gets old. The off chance that somebody can win or lose at any given time is important, but with no meaningful matches and no quality opponents you never even have to wonder....and after beating two guys at a time how do you go back to having trouble with a single foe? And why are these two both getting squash matches on PPV after title matches? CM Punk and Daniel Bryan for the WWE title seems more important than filler matches to me. This whole situation is weak honestly...

First and foremost no matter who is in the squash matches it is stupid. You might as well pretend they aren't wrestlers at all ( see ryback, he has earned his name back thanks to MITB. Goldberg never took a beating for a long time) It looks stupid to see any one get squash. It would it be like having a 100 point blow out in the nfl. It works in college because they need to pad stats for the Heisman trophy.

Second off the dancing with kids isn't for you it is for the kids. See The ego ( john Cena) and Brodus are a mixture of one very famous one love wearing person whose name will not be mentioned since he was never convicted since money buy silence, however the WWE thinks the future is with the kids. WRONG but keep trying. Sale are down since Attitude era because WWE has lost there fking minds.

Yes, very bored of them now, and I absolutely despise the "Funk It" splash, horrible horrible move.

With the other new guys, Sandow, Ryback and Cesaro...I see alot of potential. Brodus? Not so much. He will only ever be a mid-card comedy relief character while playing The Funkasaurus gimmick. While it does raise a smile when he comes out, as soon as his fat ass starts wrestling I lose interest.

For him to have any chance of succeeding, he needs some kind of feud to beign very soon, or people will lose interest. He has been there long enough now for WWE to have something for him. If they haven't, why the hell not? They need to pull the trigger on Clay asap until they want him to fail.

I am absolutely tired of Brodus on Raw. The only thing he did that was mildly interesting was the feud with Big Show because I was surprised they ended his streak in such a way. But other than that, his matches are awful, his character is awful and even his entrance is awful because it was a direct rip off of a past wrestler. His dancing with kid is even more unbearable than the previous 3, I wouldn't want anyone see me watching that.

Ryback makes his squash matches entertaining and Brodus bores everyone to sleep, big difference for people comparing those 2.

I hope with Rikishi back this week the current audience realize how inferior Brodus is compared to someone who is truly good at what he does. If I have my way he wouldn't be on Raw at all but if they are going to keep him then at least do something with him, like making him a tag team with Santino.

Yes. I have been since the second/third. At least at the start his dancing was entertaining and unique. He bores me now. It can't be that difficult to put him in an actual feud with someone.

At least there was a slight change in Brodus' routine last night, in that JTG got in far more offense than I ever thought the company would allow. The first minute or two of the match seemed as if it were going to be the same old stuff, in which Brodus uses his belly bumps to subdue his overmatched opponent. It was good to see him take a couple of lumps, especially from a low-carder.

Brodus feud with Big Show has apparently been abandoned, at least for the time being. Why did WWE cut it short? What, they wanted more of the damn Dance Fever routines instead of a legitimate program with Show?

Just a note: Last night, did anyone realize that Rikishi was operating as the Samoan Brodus Clay? I mean, jeez, I never thought anyone could make Brodus seem svelte and well-built, but Rikishi sure gave it a run.

Brodus Clay has personality and his routine/gimmick isnt stale in the slightest. WWEE is loaded with generic personalities (Cody Rhodes is one) so its refreshing to see someone different.

Clay is there for the live crowd rather than those watching at home. However, Clay now needs a fued.

Jokes and "gags" have a very limited life span, it is why comedic acts in wrestling get old fast.

It was fine to introduce him this way but he needs an actual feud, the act itself is no longer funny nor interesting.

Not bored at all. I like Mr. Clay. Brodus is a legit bad ass and that's why WWE is giving him all the squashes. You don't become Snoop Dogg's bodyguard just because you're over 6 feet and 350lbs.

He still gets a pop EVERY TIME the disco ball drops. A lot of people forget that WWE is now generally aimed for children and the children love Brodus Clay so as long as he continues getting the pops and making the children happy, his routine will not change.

I think the only people who feel the need to complain are the ones that wanted him to become the typical "monster heel" that has been done hundreds of times since the birth of Professional Wrestling.

Eh, I prefer him to happen earlier in the show. I was ready for the Main Event to happen then I saw the disco ball and in tribute to Ron Simmons gave a "DAMN"

I'm at the point where Brodus Clay doesn't get a reaction out of me, neither good nor bad. I actually popped for JTG when his music hit (I guess I still miss Cryme Tyme)

The only thing I actually enjoy about Brodus is the entrance, but he either needs a feud or go away (I'm really waiting for the day that while Brodus is dancing in the ring Kane's pyro goes off and we get a real match)

It's just annoying to have 2 job machines on the Raw roster alone in Brodus and Ryback.

I for one have not tired of Brodus although I do think he needs a feud. I'd take him over Ryback any day. Brodus gives you a persona you can at least care about and the Funkadactyles give you a sense that they really do like him. The question now is who do you put him against. I say Tensai. He likely will never get over unless he drops the whole gimmick.

Here's a possible simple solution... Have them feud each other, yet use the squash angle as their feud..
On Raw, have Ryback watch a Clay match on a monitor, and afterwards say to him, I could have beaten him much quicker, then on Smackdown, have Ryback face the same guy and do this for a few weeks. Maybe even use a clock. This can escalate into the "Who is the bigger monster?".

They are still squash matches, but add a bit of intrigue to it. Maybe have one cost another one a match, etc...

Yeah, I am definitely sick of his squash matches by now, the first few were still okay but it's stale by now. His squashes are just typical big man squashes and aren't half as exciting as Ryback's. Also, as someone mentioned there is no point for him to face the same old jobbers.
Now what I would do is put him in a feud with Jack Swagger, who has nothing to do now after splitting with Dolph. Swagger is good in the ring and can definitely bring out good things from Brodus. He is also definitely a much more credible opponent than those same old jobbers. Well, that, or they could put him in a tag team with someone else who is currently irrelevant.

Yes, I am tired of the Brodus Clay squash matches.

The character was entertaining at first and squash matches were fine because they were a classic way to introduce a new Superstars (especially a BIG one) but they abandoned all potential feuds, which is pretty dissapointing.

In my WWE '12 game in Universe Mode I d/l Brodus Clay but he was with his original 'Ramp It Up' entrance/character. What I did was I changed it to the Funkasaurus character ... but only for a few months... then I created an angle where he turns on a super face to become a super heel and now he's dominating a new Hardcore division I started.

When you look at WWE these days it really seems like the biggest kids show in the world. All face Champions, low brow humor, further comic relief characters running around; i.e. Santino, Hornswoggle, Brodus Clay, Zack Ryder even.

Makes a lot of sense now why they had The Muppets as guest stars on the show once.

Saying that, I do enjoy seeing SOME face Champions as Champions for a while. I'm happy to see R-Truth and Kofi as Tag Champions. Sadly, I think, of all Champions they are the first likely to lose their title to heels. Unfortunate, since Sheamus has been mega-boring as World Champ.

They dropped the ball with Brodus. After he was mauled by Big Show, they should have left him off television and brought him back repackaged. That doesn't necessarily mean they take the "monster heel" route, but I feel like his gimmick is one with a shelf life and very limited ceiling. He's obviously not going to be WWE Champion with the Funkasaurus gimmick, so unless the goal is for him to be a full-time midcarder (and there's nothing wrong with that -- you need guys in that role), they're going to need to switch him around a bit.

especially with Rikishi coming back on RAW last night the similarity between their characters was shown

I think even WWE are tired of the Brodus clay Squash matches.
It looked like creative were going to have a Clay vs Big show Feud but it never materialized.

They want to keep Brodus relevant and the only way they can do that until they think of a better Feud idea for him is to keep up the squash matches to give him plenty of time to dance with the kids in the audience and get himself WAY over as a face.
But for me.....its getting boring fast.

The Brodys Clay squash matches need to stop. He needs to be in some sort of feud right now, and I wouldn't mind seeing Brodus Clay as US Champion, but the squash matches have gotten really boring. I have no problem with Brodus Clay's character however, which mainly appeals to the children. I prefer his current character than his old one because if Brodus Clay continued to use his old character, the crowd probably wouldn't even know who Brodus Clay is.
