"A Retrospective Piece"

[2nd Installment]

We have entered the final act, and the stage belongs to that of monsters.

In the 1950's, The Maracanã Stadium was created to become the largest stadium in the world. It was built to take the pressure of a pact audience. A savage fury of football fans have made camp there for years to determine who shall be crowned World Cup champions. This venue once housed over 100,000 attendees until the 1990's, where accidental deaths caused the stadium to develop into an all-seater

The Apocalypse PPV held an estimated 78, 824 and I was there among the hopeful to see the savage fury of wrestling fans reign down a golden fire upon the monsters that have festered around our beloved World Heavyweight Championship title. Dr. Zeus was not content in keeping to himself it would appear, as two new shadows of men joined him a few weeks ago. John Doe, the amnesiac, and Ramparte, a lost puppy in search of a new home, turned their heads to Zeus as some muse or god. They became the self-proclaimed "Trinity" and it is with a cold shiver down my spine that I type this, but I don't see an end anytime soon.

Theron Daggershield...where do I begin with our knight of valor- our own warrior onto the people?!? Hell In A Cell, or in his words, "Doom In A Dungeon", saw Daggershield fight valiantly in what will go down as a classic bout talked about for years to come. But in the end, we know what happened. Dr. Zeus applied Euthanasia on the hero. They fell. The superstars broke the goddamn ring itself to ensure a victor. What should have never happened, came to be. Zeus still had the hold secure. Our hero was knocked out cold. This Trinity stays alive to fight another day. Theron will never get another chance. It reads like a madman's fairy tale ending.

I want to encourage you, dear readers. I want to sit each of you down and explain to you all how it will be okay. That evil cannot always triumph. It is something that needs to be told, but I'm not the one to tell it. Right now, in this moment as I type this out with a cocktail in one hand and a cigarillo in my mouth, I'm here to tell you I do not believe a fucking word of it. I'm just being negative, you may say. Every cloud has a silver lining. Well, there are a lot of clouds currently, and it makes for one hell of an overcast.

Sure- I suspect a new face to arrive in the form of a Gold Rush winner. Maybe Mikey Stormrage, video game connoisseur and fan favorite will finally have his moment to shine. There may be an underdog ready to bite where it's tender like Logan McAllister or the men who beat John Doe, The Phantoms of Chaos. Even Constantine is less insufferable than The Good Doctor. Anyone, really. Even the loathsome can acknowledge the light. The world is filled with corruptible heroes and salvageable villains.

But the hour is late, and the birds aren't chirping. We're all waiting on miracles at this point. And hope lies in the hands of monsters.
