Anyone else getting sick of JR??

Best in the World!
First of all let me clear that I'm not trolling in any way. I'm just stating what I feel and would like to know what others think about this.
Jim Ross is considered as one of the very best announcers in westling history and rightfully so. His commentary added a lot to some of the very best and legendary matches of the past 2 decades and he has definitely earned the respect of fans. I love his commentary too and for me, the best moment of his commentary career was when he, along with Lawler, called the final match of Austin's career against the Rock at WM19.
On one side, Lawler was praising the hell out of the Rock, mentioning his Hollywood fame and on the other side, JR was explaining how Austin didn't care about Hollywood and the Rock and how Austin always wanted to become a wrestler and that's what he does best.
Yes there's the "Bah Gawd, as God is my witness...." moment and countless other moments too, but this one's my favourite.

SO HERE IS THE THING....

I read his question and answer section on his website and some of the things are really getting annoying....

1. He always sucks up to the WWE, whatever may be the case. If there's a bad episode of RAW, he'll somehow write favourable reviews on his blog even though the show sucked. I read his 3 part Wrestlemania article on Foxsports website, and HE MANAGED TO FINISH THE ENTIRE ARTICLE WITHOUT FINDING ANY FLAWS IN EVEN A SINGLE MANIA!!!! If there were flaws, he plainly ignored them and praised WM2 and WM9, possibly 2 of the worst Manias of all time!!

2 He's as diplomatic as anyone can possibly be. Once he ws asked who was a better wrestler- HHH or Bret Hart. He said that he likes both of them. But he just never gives a definite answer, atleast 90% of them. He's kind of insecure that mentioning any one's name would make the other angry and it'd affect his relationship with him. Atleast that's what I'm assuming.

3. He was among the several people who buried the Ultimate Warrior in the Self destruction dvd, but ends up heaping praises upon him as soon as he's inducted into the Hall of Fame. Isn't that hypocrisy??

If I ask a question to some past wrestler or wrestling journalist or wrestling writer like Mark Madden or Nick Paglino, or KB, I'll get a definite and satisfactory answer, but with JR, it's hard to get such an answer.

He once said on Twitter that he isn't a Yes man, He's just real. Based on what I've read or seen, he seems to be far from real. WWE has embarrassed him to the limit on live television and still he sucks up to them so much . As a fan, it saddens as well as irritates me.

Again, this is not aome bashing thread. I love his commentary but just wanted to hear everyone's opinion based on aforementioned points.
What are your thoughts on this??

He's been the same guy for as long as I can remember. Frankly I find that he is probably more honest than all the other pro wrestling "journalists". Why should he find fault in anything? He enjoys wrestling. Should he nitpick one thing about any WM if he truly enjoyed the rest? There is nothing wrong with finding and pointing out the positives in things.

He is just another option of entertainment. Why has it taken so long for you to figure out what type of entertainer he is?

And don't get me started on the ways WWE humiliated him. He is grown man playing a part on TV. He can handle his role.

If he can't find faults in anything than his reviews are not of any use, cause if a fan wants to learn about history of Wrestlemania and he reads that 3 part article, he'll end up thinking that Wrestlemania is the epitome of perfection. And when one day he decides to watch all the Manias on the WWE Network, he'll definitely find some events exactly opposite of what they were called in the article: Not worth his time. He'll switch to some other Reviewer in future whenever he wants to learn about the history of a show before watching, who can actually guide him and separate the good from the bad to save his time.

If you read his blog and QnA section, you'll learn that he got a bit upset about the recent jab thrown towards him by JBL during commentary ( Obviously fed by Mcmanhon) and called that unnecessary. He called several other segments unnecessary for wveryone involved, eg. when Kane set him on fire. Every man has his breaking point and JR reached his too, but he seems to be scared to express his views.

David Garcia, one of the best commenters from the WZ comments section, had the following to say about Jim Ross:

The only Jim Ross I knew was the character on UWF, WCW, and WWE and he was fantastic. Granted he became more of a caricature in the later years, but even at his worst, he was arguably the best play-by play guy ever.
But as Jim Ross the person has become a public figure with blogs and podcasts, I really don't care for him all that much. He comes off as arrogant, contradictory, condescending to the fans who funded his entire career, and dismissive of any voice critical of WWE...unless it's his own.
And none of that changes my opinion of him as a performer...but in real life I think he's an a**hole...

I could not have said it any better (or more politely)... Jim Ross is a WWE-asskisser, plain and simple. If WWE does something even remotely right, he will be all praises for it. But if they do anything wrong, he will either say he is not aware of the details because of not being in the company, or reply in a cryptic and unclear way, or continue to defend it like a faithful dog. The demeaning and insulting way I saw him talking to fans (who were respectful and asked him a question because they respected his opinion), if he talked like that to anyone in WWE, they would shove a poll up his ass. This old fart is very selective, has no spine, and I'm glad that he got fired. His fans think that he is the Good Ol' J.R. that they see on TV, but actually he is a very selfish, crooked, cunning, and political person.

You cannot blame Ross for being a "diplomat." Even in retirement, he is a commentator at heart - not a reviewer. No matter how s****y the product is getting, you will never hear a commentator acknowledge its s***iness, in a kayfabe context or otherwise, because at the end of the day their job, when it comes down to it, is simply to make the product interesting.

JR's just being loyal to the company and the biz, is all. Stop criticizing the man for being neutral. Jeez :disappointed:

Yeah i've been sick of Jim Ross for decades now. I am glad he is exposing himself to the World via the internet.

Where I disagree is the praised heaped on his career, a career spanning decades of either putting companies out of business or getting fired from them before he can help destroy them(WCW, for example.) Pre-Bells Palsy and at his BEAST he was an AVERAGE, bottom tier announcer beneath Gordon Solie, Jesse Ventura, Bobby The Brain, Gorilla Manson, Vince McMahon ect. He was and still is in the Todd Pettingale, Mark Madden, Sean Mooney echelon of Commentator. Well Mooney was a step up, actually. Point being, the WWE has carefully crafted and rammed down our throats their top asskissers supposed greatness, the reality is different. Pre-WWF Ross was decent, not great but good. WWF "Fat ole J.R." is and was atrocious. Some fat drooling sweathog redneck redundantly repeating himself is great? How, exactly? He was and is garbage.

Jim Ross the man is no better. In fact, the person behind the Hank Hill wannabe character is a dirtbag. Asskisser? That's nothing new! That is the ONLY reason he had a job for as long as he did. I'm not really sure where to start with the lowlife behavior. Well let's start with Bryan Pillman. If you've watched the DVD of Pillman, why the way J.R. waxes on they were very best buds, so much so he was the only one Pillman told his gimmick was a "work." There's only one problem with that, Pillman per Tom Zenk and others from the WCW days said in interviews and on Zenks old website that Pillman was in the group that hated Jim Ross, who asskissed every idea Bill Watts or Ole Anderson threw out there. But that's "Good Ole J.R." for ya, namedropping dead people to put HIMSELF over.

Next up: Steve Austin. J.R's very best friend in the whole wide world. Such close friends in fact Ross couldn't WAIT to blow Vince McMahon on WWE Confidential and bury "Sto' Cole Stee Awssin" for daring to stand up for himself "buh gawd."

Ultimate Warrior: You are correct. This guy spent YEARS trashing the Warrior, holding a 30 year old grudge from when a young Jim Helwig treated Bill Watts like the punk bitch that he is in the UWF locker room before quitting the UWF right afterwards. He's pretty bitter someone dared humiliate his ex-boyfriend. Yet now that the WWE and Warrior reunited, Ross is again putting himself over at another dead mans expense.

Cocky, arrogant, piece of shit. That's Jim Ross. Always has been and always will be.
