Any curveballs thrown in Elimination Chamber this year??

The last couple of years, we've seen curveballs thrown in the Elimination Chamber PPV - specifically, unexpected Title changes, changes in participants (Kofi Kingson being one), and important set ups for WM.

This year, everyone seems to have a good idea as to where WM is headed: Edge vs. Del Rio, Cena vs. Miz, Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes, The King vs. Michael Cole in SOME capacity, Taker vs. Triple H (if the rumors here are true), and the rest of the filler matches.

My question is, does anyone think the WWE has some major twists for tonight to ready us for this year's WM???

Personally, as much as I don't expect it to happen, I would love to see Edge lose the Title to a returning Superstar (there's one spot left open now that Ziggler's gone), and have Edge feud with McIntyre for the 'firing' of Kelly Kelly. Or maybe have The King win vs. The Miz, and have the Miz get the Title back somehow before WM to continue a feud with Cena.

I'm just trying to play Devil's Advocate. But does anyone expect to see any curveballs thrown this year??
 
I'm not sure if it would be considered a curve ball but I think Lawler may well beat Miz, and there is always the hope that the vacant spot in the SD Elimination Chamber will result in a cool surprise.
 
Sting takes Zigglers spot and Taker comes back tomorrow night to start a feud with him...I can dream can't I? :p

Serious guess? The curveball is we pay for a PPV hoping for a curve and get nothing. They know this is a throw away show and are just trying to get some $$$, the real storyline advancements for Mania will all take place on Raw and SD. I would LOVE to see Lawler win the title, but even if he did we all know something stupid would occur within the next week to get it off him so it's almost pointless to let him have the belt if thats gonna be the outcome.

I would REALLY love to see someone other than Cena or Edge win either Chamber match, that would be a pretty good curve. We shall see soon...
 
What if King can't make it to the ppv because of the passing of his mother?

We can see a returning star (Jericho?) take his place and win the belt. I doubt it, but it's a possible curve ball.

The major thing I'm waiting to see is who, if anyone, takes Ziggler's spot. I would like to let you guys know that I follow WWE on Facebook, and the match is being advertised as the first ever 5 man chamber match. With that being said maybe the curve ball maybe that no one takes his place.
 
Originally, I thought the plan was for Lawler to win the title on a fluke and then lose it back to Miz on Raw tomorrow night thereby setting-up a WM deal with Riley and Cole, but now I'm not so sure. First, they just did the "1-hour-champ" deal with Ziggler this week on SD. I can't see them doing this with BOTH titles in a 4-day span, but, as we all know, this IS WWE, so who knows! Besides, every mark is almost expecting this outcome now after the passing of Lawler's mother, so even if this was the original plan it likely won't happen now.
 
What would be pretty cool is if Lawler lost tonight against Miz then the smackdown chamber would come later on in the night and lawler would be the final superstar in the match and win. Pretty nice way to win a world title...
 
what about morrison to win the raw chamber
big show to enter smackdown chamber and win
and (now im dreaming lol) have lawler win, and agrees to pass wwe title to the "next big thing" (and to piss off the miz) daniel bryan.
have morrison v miz v bryan at wrestlemania
and lawler v riley
 
Now that I think about it Lawler v Del Rio would be a much better Mania match then Edge v Del Rio (in my opinion) more storyline options for Del Rio to disrespect Lawler, etc. So maybe Lawler loses to Miz by interference, and then somehow finds his way in to the SD chamber where someone will help him cheat to win since he got screwed out of his singles match. That would be a pretty nice ending I think.
 
Finally the Rock returns to the chamber, and lays the smack down on all their candy asses, and is the new World Heavyweight Champion. that would be an awesome dream. Sheamus Wins the raw ec by punting Orton, and we have a King vs King vs King of Kings at Mania.
 
undertaker returns tonight and iwc goes nuts over the meaning 0f 2-21-11 till raw monday.also the high power aka raw gm that barrett spoke of months ago gets revealed and nexus and corre unite under his or her direction...causing a new invasion angle effecting both brands heading into WM....
 
Maybe the Undertaker comes back tonight. It would technically be a curveball because he was expected back tonight. An few years back the Rock came back a few weeks ahead of schedule, so maybe the Undertaker comes back a day early. The only issue would that is he would probably wind up winning the title, and I don't think that would be necessary because he already has the streak to make his WM match matter.
 
I'm thinkin the big show enters the chamber. Christian could return. Triple H, nash, booker T, batista? Who knows

im getting kinda confused here
sheamus doesnt use the punting manuver
only randy does
and i know the is a king but hes not known as the king so that kinda doesnt make sense there
but i totally love ur idea
 
I know anyone can edit wikipedia, but on the page for Christian it states that he is scheduled to take the vacant spot in the WHC chamber match.

I see this happening simply because he was injured in september and told that he would need 4 months to recover. What better way for him to return than to get into the chamber and try to beat Edge for the title just so he can face Del Rio at WM.

Seriously though, the SD Chamber coulbe be like the MiTB the year Jeff Hardy got suspended....maybe there will just be an unfilled vacancy.

LMAO! I bet Lawler would VERY strongly disagree with you there! I doubt he wants to be in a Mania title match any more than the vast majority of WWE fans (like, everyone except you apparently, lol) wants to see him in one. I would LOVE to see him win the title and get to celebrate for one night, but only if he loses it the next night on Raw.

Here's how you could do it. CM Punk wins the Raw Chamber match, cheating Orton to do it and somehow Miz cost Cena the match. Lawler wins the WWE Title thanks to Cena. The next night, Miz comes out and demands a rematch. CM Punk comes out and says he'll take his title match tonight. Triple threat is made, CM Punk wins after Cole distracts Lawler and Cena distracts Miz. That sets up Cena vs. Miz, Lawler vs. Cole in some capacity, and CM Punk vs. Randy Orton for the WWE title. I personally wouldn't do it, but I think it makes sense...plus it gives you a non-Cena winner for the Chamber, Lawler gets a day with the title(and a Wrestlemania moment), and puts the title in a different match than was expected.
 
Tonight is a strange one because while it all seems fairly predictable and locked down, you've got to expect something notable to come up. The problem is where the hell that's going to happen because any major return is going to cause a significant reshuffle of the Wrestlemania card.

I'm fairly sure of 1 thing and it's that Ziggler will be replaced in the chamber. Unless something comes out of the blue though, the options for that replacement are quite limited.

I also expect that either tonight or tomorrow night, Cole is going to cost Lawler the title. The question people should be asking is, which would get Cole the most heat? Robbing Lawler of the chance to be WWE champion or costing Lawler the title he wins tonight. Seriously, don't be surprised if Jerry Lawler walks out the WWE champion tonight.


Now is it me or, aside from the main event matches, does the card look all a bit empty? There's currently nothing for Barrett, Sheamus, Morrisson, Big Show, Kane etc
 
How about this?

Lawler wins the WWE Title and Sheamus wins the Elimination Chamber. These two already have some history and I'm pretty sure Lawler would love to beat up Sheamus for attacking him awhile ago.


Realisticly speaking though: Lawler is going to lose and face Cole at WM. Cena will be in the WWE Title Main event again to start a new streak.
