Antonio Cesaro: New US Champion

I said to a friend while ago a good storyline would be for a European wrestler (heel) to win the US title and rename it the European title, then an American wrestler (face) would win it and it would go back to the US title.

Wouldn't this be the ideal situation to turn Swagger face?

Think about it. Claudio ( I will only refer to him by that) comes out on Raw to announce he is changing the name of the title to represent the greatest continent in the world. He rattels off anti- America retoric untill the All American American himself, being a former US champ and one hell of a patriot, takes exception and comes out to confront the freshly minted champion.

Swagger goes Ricky Bobby on Claudio, tells him America is #1. Gets the crowd to join him in an ol fashioned "USA, USA, USA" chant. Claudio starts to unravel as this was supposed to be his crowning achievement, taking the title back to the Europeans. He attacks Swagger.

Stage is set now for Night of Champions with the US title having some importance behind it. And oh yeah, we start to give a shit about Jack Swagger again.

Being that he is a ROH alum, I'm glad he won the title and he has only been on the main roster for what? 6 months? I can see him bringing back the European title in the place of the US title. When he was in ROH using his real name, he was one of their bigger stars. When he left ROH for wwe I was worried he wouldn't be used right. So far that's not the case and him winning the US title this early proves it.

I love Cesaro and have been a big fan of his since his days in Ring of Honor.

I think he has the look. The charisma. The talent. And the ability to talk on the stick. All that adds up to someone who could have a very bright future.

I am one of the few fans who did not have too much of a problem with the Santino run. It was entertaining and the live crowds eat that guy up, so it did not bother me too much, but it was time for the E to go in a different direction with this title and I think that Cesaro could really benefit from a lengthy run.

Hopefully WWE Creative has some good ideas for him and they can get something really solid going for this title and for this talented in-ring performer.

I wish that WWE creative would try really hard to not make someone look like a jackass in a cheap attempt to make the crowd boo them.

Cesaro has style in the ring and his uppercut looks sharp. Then our senses get hit with a pointless segment where he speaks in five languages. Why does he do this? So that you feel less cultured than him. Ahh, so fucking applicable to an attitude toward the world of pro-wrestling, something that goes over the crowd's heads and they really don't fucking care.

Aksana is kind on the eyes, but she does nothing to make Cesaro more interesting.

I'm glad he got the belt, I just hope they hype a US title defense for once.

I watched RAW yesterday and I was shocked to see a tiny little announcement about Cesaro's win. I mean he is a champion and wasn't even on the show and the announcement was along the lines of a passing comment. He isn't on the show now as champ, but when Santino was champ he routinely on the show! Wow great way to get behind your champ WWE.
