Amazing Red

"Heys Guyz, I just wanted to let Ya kno 1st...TNA & I parted ways do to the "creative has nothing for you" line, so we r gonna future endeavor each other right now. Thanks to my @ImpactWrestling famo & fans... Now "On to the Next one" (Jay-Z)"

Personaly I liked the dude. I allways found his matches to be above par and to me it looked like he loved the company. He was a perfect fit in the x division because of it's "no weight limits" theory. It's sad, but they are losing alot of the tallent that could of been built up or used to build up other tallent.

He didn't have to be a major #1 star, but what Tna needs to look at with the new X signings is are they going to gain with them or lose good tallent by not putting them on the card.

Granted his Luchador charicter tanked, but I haven't seen a bad Red match in a long time.

Ah crap! Even if he didn't get much TV time he was still one of my favorite gnats superstars. Well anyway we're going to be seeing "oh he's a spot monkey no big loss for TNA/IW" posts on here. when in reality he was one of the most entertaining guys on the roster. I think tna can find another guy like him though.

I think the problem with Red was that he really was incredibly small and this impacted on the believability of his matches (something that hurt the Bucks too). On top of this Red (and again, the Bucks) suffers from a blandness outside the ring.

Ares, Styles, Daniels etc might be smaller guys but they are still of a sufficient stature to suspend disbelief. Should they succeed in getting Low-Ki added to the roster; yes, he is diminutive in stature but his strong style nature gives him believability against larger opponents.

While I have always enjoyed the mentioned guys, I believe (hope) that TNA is building a roster were one competitor can believably be placed in a match with any other and some degree of suspense may be employed.

Red is pretty good in the ring, but he doesn't give the fans a reason to care about him at all. He shows up, does his moves and then leaves. Red never really showed much personality, which is what probably ultimately led to his demise. I know people will say he didn't get the mic time to show his personality, but a wrestler doesn't need to talk on the mic to show their personality, they can show it in the ring during matches. That is something Red never did.

Sure, Red's a good wrestler, but it's not a big loss to TNA. Now Red can make more regular appearances in CHIKARA, which is something that will make me happy.

What reason did Red ever even give creative for them to have something for him? He has the personalty of a bathtub fart.

Honest reaction? Who gives a shit? He's a generic spot monkey who had a gimmick as lacking as his personality. Let him go wrestle for companies who have no need/care for having more talent than the ability to do a couple flips and hit the ropes like an 85-pound woman.

Let's blame Russo for releasing somebody! Fuck Russo for releasing Amazing Red! He could've done so much with him like ... like ...

Well it doesn't matter! Russo sucks. Amazing Red was a good wrestler. He was so exciting in the ring and he could also ... um ... he could ...

... um ...

FIRE RUSSO!

Bathtub farts are funny and make bubbles thus have more personality than quite a few wrestlers. Ok, that had to be said, but now we move on.

Basically it was an even trade, Zima Ion for Amazing Red. Who's better? I have no idea. Either way, you get a young high flyer to do some flippies that no one knows a thing about. Same shit really. Sucks for Red, but I guarantee he'll make more money working Indy's because if he had one of those pay per appearance deals with TNA well.........he wasn't appearing so he wasn't making money. It's best for everyone.

He looked like a Power-Ranger, I don't remember ever seeing him cut a promo (or indicate that he had a personality), and like Crimson he has a gimmick entirely based on the color of his hair. That being said, I'll give credit where credit is due; Amazing Red was an amazing athlete.

However, it takes more than athleticism to make the fans care about you. Maybe it was the fault of creative (wouldn't surprise me) or maybe it was Red himself, but for the entirety of his run in TNA I didn't really find a reason to care about him. And his stature is no excuse; Austin Aries, Low-Ki, Rey Mysterio, Daniel Bryan, and many other wrestlers are small in stature, but make up for it through other means. Hopefully, Red will take some time to work on his character, mic skills, and ring psychology, as he truly is physically gifted in the ring. But for the time being, I've got to agree with TNA on this one. It's been clear for a very long time that Red would never be more than a jobber in TNA, so it was a waste of a roster spot to keep him around.

You know whats funny? the FIRE RUSSO chants you heard in the past, russo had no part in setting up those storylines.

People give russo allot of crap.

Enjoyable in the ring. Doesn't have much else. No big loss, I guess. It's weird though. They're supposed to be re-building the X Division, yet they let Generation Me and Red go in the space of a few weeks. A bit silly, no?

Still, at least we have Sangriento.

Well I'm not shocked, I can see a few of the x division wrestlers being released. As for him, he won't be a big miss as he was rarely on tv. Even when he was on tv he had no personality and did a couple of flips here and there so to be honest I'm not going to miss him.

Sure they released Red, Max and Jeremy, but they signed Kash, Haskins and Aries. Got rid of the talentless, skinny fucks with no look or anything going on for them except their flipzz and replaced them with a veteran like Kash, Haskins who at least has a look and is marketable and Aries who can wipe his ass with half the roster on the mic.

My guess is TNA wants to make the X-Division be a REAL division not a monkey division. They want people who can "X-Division their ass off" but at the same time be marketable, have a look, in-ring skills and possibly mic skills. That's why the three spotlighted X-Division guys right now are Kendrick, Shelley and Aries.

If anything this is better for the Division as a whole. Despite Red's talent to flip around, having a guy like him on your roster doesn't scream mainstream company.

Besides, Red's been in TNA since 2002 (on and off). The guy hasn't improved ONE bit. Fucker had 9 years to improve and show creative why they should have something for him. He didn't. I'm sorry but if you're the same in 2011 as you were in 2002 you need to go. Forever. There were much more talented guys on the TNA roster who got the boot for a lot less than that.

Not if they're being replaced with guys who actually have personality like Austin Aries.

By the way... when you are "re-building", it means what you have isn't working, and what they had were no-charisma, no-personality spot monkeys like Red.

It's always the same excuse huh?, just because a guy worked in his wrestling and not on the promo, he has no personality right?. Maybe his personality is in the righ, in the amazing things he could do in the ring.
Sad he's gone from TNA but new workers are coming, i hope the writes have something for them.

Damn, Red was so sweet in-ring, he always provided entertaining matches. Hopefully he finds a new franchise, i can only wish him the best!

You apparently have no idea what a personality is if you think physical ability has anything to do with it.

What he's able to accomplish in the ring equates to things like work rate, athleticism and technical prowess.

Having a personality has to do with having charisma beyond simple athletic capability (as in verbal), confidence and adequate public speaking skill. The ability to captivate the audience beyond your actual matches. The ability to make them cheer or boo you with mannerisms, facial expressions and that thing called acting. Red literally owns none of these, hence he has no personality.

And yes, it always comes back to the same thing — useless spot monkeys like Red who have no personality will not last long. Period.

No real lost at all. The guy was'nt that talented, and lacked charisma and personality. If their signing guy's that are already known in the indie's, that have personality, and that are more talented than Red, then it's not really any lost at all.

Just like Generation Me, he'll probably just go back to the indie's.

This is no loss for TNA whatsoever. Amazing Red is the absolute epitome of the professional wrestling spot monkey. Take away all the flips, the flops, the suicide dives, the little to no selling of wrestling moves and you have absolutely nothing left. There've been lots of guys exactly like Red pass through TNA and they haven't been missed. The world goes on just fine with out them, better in most cases for that matter.

When Austin Aries said something to the effect that he wasn't a vanilla midget, Red is immediately the first guy that popped up in my head. We just saw a great match between Aries and Shelley, an actual wrestling match and not a mindless showcase of high spots. That's what the X Division needs.

That is exactly what I think why TNA release Amazing Red. He was just a spot monkey and he wasn't a marketable character at all. I don't understand why some fans are upset that the guy got release, I mean why else would TNA was going to keep him around for?? I don't know about kendrick because nobody knows what he saying on the mic half the times and he a skinny guy, it be interesting to see how long he going to stay in TNA

100% agree with you, it is no big loss for TNA. They signed good wrestler in Aries Kash, Haskins and a few other talented X-guys.

They are bringing the Division back to how it should be like it was in the glory days, they should also have Doug Williams come back to the Division, they need guys that have personality. can fly but also mat wrestle like Shelley Aries and others. Red did nothing for the Division he has been with TNA on and off. For years Red needs to stay on the indies or something.

You mean we will never see Sangriento grace the ring again?! I'm surprised TNA kept Red as long as they did. I know some die hard TNA fans are tore up about this and the bucks and Jay Lethal being released, but who cares? Red was given a push as the X division champion years ago and it went nowhere. I've read Kurt Angle was high on Red and wanted to put him over in matches. The guy does some cool flips but he is the definition of bland. With other X division stars being signed, I'm not surprised that TNA parted ways with Red.

What reason did Red ever even give creative for them to have something for him? He has the personalty of a bathtub fart.

I disagree; bathtub farts are kind of funny for about two seconds. Red doesn't even have that going for him. Sweet, he's got awesome moves! Robbie E has more personality than Red Mysterio, fuck off.

Honest reaction? Who gives a shit? He's a generic spot monkey who had a gimmick as lacking as his personality. Let him go wrestle for companies who have no need/care for having more talent than the ability to do a couple flips and hit the ropes like an 85-pound woman.

Gotta echo what The Damn of Israel is saying here, there's a reason he be modding this neck of the woods; Red didn't even have a gimmick. At all. He just did flippies and had a mo-hawk. I think Madden said it best (gasp?) with "Nobody wants to see the paperboy wrestle." Red was literally a Mysterio clone with zero personality, no mask (Kids like masks, also makes them seem more superhero-ish) and with not all of the talent, he even admits to Rey being a huge inspiration of his. All of his X-Div reigns were pretty shit and highlighted by someone taking the belt from him. The ONLY memorable moment I have of him is his semi-recent crazy-as-fuck Spider-Man move in that Ultimate X match, where he came out of nowhere from the trusses to win the match. Is that too many hyphens in one sentence? I'm not sure what the allotted amount is, I might owe something on my taxes now.

I've been watching TNA regularly from 2006, and he's done absolutely nothing to make me care about him. Good riddance.

Bullshit man

TNA are looking at focusing on the X Division, so they release Generation Me, and now Amazing Red? The fans loved seeing those guys! Sure they are not the most psychologically sound performers, they don't cut great promos but they were some of the most entertaining guys on the roster once they got in the ring.

Look at the cruiserweights in WCW's glory days...did you see many of them cutting great promos? No you didnt, other than the likes of Jericho. They did their talking in the ring and entertained the fans through their athleticism. That is what Amazing Red is all about. I feel sorry for the guy, I always liked him and its a shame that we won't be seeing him on Impact any more. He didnt have much charisma, but for pure entertainment, a few good spots and some excitement, I was a fan of his.

I am seeing that most people dont give a fuck he is gone, personal preference I guess. I can see where you guys are coming from, but Red always appealled to me.

I completly agree with you. amazing red was a great WRESTLER not a superstar though. the x division is not about intruiging matches it is about fast paced action and that was what red had written all over him. I have never really cared much for psychology in the ring so red's style appealled to me very much. its a shame he is gone but im sure tna will find another guy similar to him:)
