Amazing Red in WWE: Your thoughts?

The ShIT Factor

Sex-Division Champion of the World!
I've been reading articles on Wrestlezones news section and there was a report on how Amazing Red was running the ropes yesterday No way out for a trial match. Amazing Red as a WWE wrestler, now there's a thought. I think if Red goes to WWE he will probably hang around the mid-card talent. I think he will be used sort of like Sin Cara in High-Flyer squash matches and maybe even feud with Sin Cara. I really don't think this is the start of a new cruiserweight division, Vince has always liked big wrestlers and I don't think he would have faith in it. Still, it would be cool and Amazing Red could take a new cruiserweight division to great heights like he did in TNA. If Amazing Red comes into the WWE he could really do some cool things or he could be misused IMO.

Your opinions?

To be honest, I never found Amazing Red very amazing at all. I think he's a stiff and I couldn't care less if I ever saw him on TV or in the WWE ever again.

I do hope someday that both Bobby Roode and James Storm make it to the WWE.

Having a tryout doesn't mean a thing. If Red get's a job in WWE I'll be very surprised.

If he does it'll be for that proposed Cruiserweight Network show or for a brief feud with Sin Cara.

Man, back when TNA was a weekly PPV show, I used to love watching Amazing Red vs Aj Styles some great spot matches! Also if you've never seen low ki vs Amazing red in ROH then do yourself a favor and youtube that sh*t.

I like Amazing Red he has all the high flying moves of Sin Cara with 90% less botches. If/When they bring back the cruiser weight division I think he would make an excellent addition. We have never seen the type of x-division style of wrestling in WWE before and I think it would be entertaining to say the least.

Although he is an amazing wrestler, I really really cannot see him having any considerable role in the WWE. I just don't see what they would do with him. I can't see them resurrecting a cruserweight division and I'm not sure what else he could really do.

If Red does come to WWE, it'll be for the proposed Cruiserweight show. I can't see him going any further than being a Cruiserweight.

To me, Red is the definition of a one dimensional spot monkey. Without his flips & flops all around the ring, the guy has nothing to offer. Doesn't know how to tell a story, has no personality, no charisma and no depth as a character. WWE's already got Sin Cara in that role.

I've just never been overly intersted in Red. I'm just not a spot mark and without spots, there's nothing to Red.

Red could be half of a tag team or round out a new cruiserweight division. With 3 hours of Raw coming soon, they could honestly use a lightweight high flyer division to fill out the show.

I enjoyed him in TNA, and was sad to see them let him go. I hope he gets a chance in WWE, who has treated smaller performers great in the past few years.

I would love to see Amazing Red in a rivalry with Sin Cara. He might be one of the few American wrestlers out there who can go as fast as Cara. I agree with the other posters that he probably won't make it far, especially as long as the WWE doesn't have a cruiserweight title.

HOWEVER, if they do ever finally bring back the "light heavyweight" title, I think there is good potential for Cara vs. Red rivalry for that belt. I'd only be too happy to see those matches opening up the three hour Raws.

This just seems like such an odd fit, doesn't it? Amazing Red isn't the type of talent that I would envision the WWE going for, so I was a bit surprised when I first read about this. Out of all the folks I could have envisioned WWE going after, Amazing Red wasn't one of them. I understand that they need cruiserweights for this new WWE Network show, but even so, I didn't think Amazing Red was going to be one of the people they selected. To put it bluntly, Amazing Red is painfully average -- not to mention that he's really undersized (even for a cruiserweight), and does come off as a bit of a spot-monkey.

Red would be best suited, if signed, to go down to FCW -- I doubt he would do that, though (based off how long he's been in the game). Red's a veteran of the wrestling world and has worked in other major promotions, so I don't doubt that he knows his way around the ring, I just think he'd need to adapt to the WWE style. Red works a very fast-paced style with a lot of top rope moves, springboards, and so on. I'm sure he would struggle to do that in the WWE, much like Sin Cara did. Red would probably have a tough transition and I just don't think it's the right move to have him join the WWE roster. That being said, I doubt this will turn into anything past a try-out match. He's had them before and nothing has come of it, so I doubt anything will change.

Here is how the Amazing Red's WWE career would go:

Vince would re-name him the Red Amazing One (Or perhaps the Red Rooster jr). After a wins over the likes of Derrick Bateman and Tyler Recks...Red will get squahed by the Big show, and become a jobber.

For those who don't think Vince wouldn't change Red's name, think of this:
Low Ki became Kaval
Chris Harris became Braden Walker
Monty Brown became Marcos Co Vor

Kerry Von Erich briefly was monikered The texas Tornando (with no mention of his family's legacy in wrestling)

Big Van Vader became Vader (despite Vince wanting to repackage him as the Mastadon)

Let's not forget how Del Rio, Sin cara, and others (including a certain former ROH world champion) have been repackaged with bland names.

For Red's Sake.....I hope he doesn't end up in the WWE.

As has been said by many on here ... the only way that Amazing Red gets a gig with the WWE is if they are moving forward fully with the cruiserweight show on the WWE Network.

Red is simply not a WWE type of guy. I think he would be perfect for a cruiserweight show or even a cruiserweight division (which I guess will never happen again) ... but in the current WWE product he just does not have much room.

He is not quite as entertaining as a Rey Mysterio or Evan Bourne and that leaves him on the outside looking in.

Amazing Red in WWE would be very cool. I enjoyed his work over in TNA. There are a couple of problems that stand in his way though. He sucks on the mic and is a Cruiserweight. He might not make it very far in WWE. At the very least he could work with Sin Cara, Kofi, Rey, or other high flyers to create some exciting midcard or PPV opener matches. A feud with Sin Cara would be awesome.

Intercontinental or US Championship runs are the furthest I could see him ever going, and that's if he even got that far. Kofi keeps losing tag team partners, so they could always team up to form the true sequel to Air Boom. Red is very similar to Bourne so that could work out well. Unless that happens, or they brought back the Cruiserweight Championship (doubtful) then the odds would be very much against him.

Pretty much this. Hes great at doing flips and thats about it. He has the personality of a potato. He has the charisma of a carrot. Hes great for big spots and thats about it.

I remember when I first saw him in TNA and yeah I was impressed. But seeing him again and again, you see through his very bland charachter.

I must say I agree with "The Mind" I to hope for Reds sake he dosnt end up in the biggest wrestling company in the world.. Yeah... Not..

Red can go, look at some of his RoH matchs, plus he's well known in America and the Uk, so he has a instant legitimicy if the WWE bring back a cruiserweight division, when people say he's one dimensional and that hel be used as a jobber, I point you to Funaki, to those of you who dont remember he was offten used as a jobber to bigger guys, like big show, a train, batista, but when he went toe to toe with another cruiserweight he always gave a good showing, and the crowd always get behind him, despite him having a rather one dimensional persona, its down to the E to put the cruiserweights in a position were people expect high pace, non stop, sometimes flying action, the possibilities are awsome with what could happen,

Would you really care if he got squashed by big show, would a big show KO punch, witch has repetedly knocked out cena, putting out red really hinder the quality of a Mitb match with Bourne, Shelly, Cara, Hunico, Red, Rey?, would you instantly assume that because a week earler he was knocked out by a 7ft 500+ man that now he couldn't beat sincara 1v1 for the CW strap, that factoring the Sabin rumors and the amount off other smaller guys around that wwe could snap up it seems like a good move, if WWE starts putting stalk and going to other small guys saying look, we've got amazing red, sincara, mystero + the others they'r looking at it would surely help those guys say there gonna put some stalk in this, and it could certinly work, have a cruiserweight opener on a 3 hour raw, give the CW champ the begining off the second hour and let the good times roll

In Kerry Von Erich case yes he was Texas Tornado but I do remember him sporting a jacket that on the back it said Kerry. Haven't watched matches of his in years but wouldn't be surprised if they mentioned he was a Von Erich early in his career as the Texas Tornado

Speaking of Vince changing wrestlers names...I thought the reason why is because he wants to OWN the name, right? If that was the case and I'm Amazing red I'd sign on the dotted line. The only downfall would be if he gets released WWE would own his name, but seriously in this stage of his career after flushing out of TNA what does he have to lose?

Yeah Red has nothing to lose right now. I mean, he is gone from TNA and ROH is building up new star and trying to get a TV show off the ground. Independents aren't what they used to be and star appearances just won't do enough. Where is he supposed to go? If I was Red I'd sign even if I'd have to change my name. At least he'd make some money doing what he loves.

I personally would like to see Red in the WWE. That would show me that they are taking the cruiserweight idea seriously.

If they do resurrect the cruiserweight/light heavyweight division, I want them to damn well do it right. I would love to see more cruiserweight action since it is a great balance to the heavyweights.

I also think it'd be cool if they had a special cruiserweight ring.

If they invest in it and believe in it, I will have no qualms about getting the upcoming WWE Network.

Never been a super fan of Amazing Red or anything, but he is entertaining to watch. He would come in for the cruiserweight show, and I doubt he would go any further than that. He pretty much ends as a high flyer, and would do well for a while, but not for the long haul.

There is a shoot interview with Ron Killings, where he talks about how he nearly didn't sign with the WWE because the sticking point was that Vince wanted fulll ownership of the name Kid Krush, the name Killings was using on the indy scene. Once Vince found out Ron owned the name, and that Ron wouldn't sell it, Vince nearly opted not to sign him.
