I didn't like their match last year so why would I enjoy it more just because HBK's career on the line. I don't believe HBK is going to retire if Taker beats him. He go away for a while and then come back. If this match was back in the 90's then I would be more excited. Only reason last year's match was great because the rest of the card was shit. This year I'm looking forward to Cena/Batista, Edge/Jericho and a possible Mysterio/Punk match more than HBK/Taker. That's just the way it is for me.
If you think that I'm not a wrestling fan just because I'm not going to bother with HBK/Taker, then I could care less.
How could you not like their match last year? Do you have something against incredible wrestling matches? For someone who harps on and on about storytelling in the ring I'd think you'd be able to recognize that HBK and Taker told one of the greatest stories ever told in a wrestling ring last year.
That's fine, but bizarre. I can tell you haven't been watching wrestling very long. One of the greatest wrestlers to ever live is preparing to possibly retire on the biggest stage of them all in a match that will be hyped as being possibly the single most looked-forward to match in Wrestlemania history, and you don't care?
Like...okay, that just makes no sense to me at all. This angle is what wrestling is all about; the emotion, the drama, the story. Everything.
Anyone who would just shit on HBK/Taker 2 and say "I don't care", well, yeah, I've got some serious questions as to what the hell is wrong with them. Did you watch Wrestlemania 13 for Sid-Taker and not give a fuck about Austin-Bret either or something?
I don't understand all of the people who want some up and comer to break the streak. Sure it will give him a huge push at that moment but I'd much rather have an established hall of fame guy do it because it would still make the streak look strong.
Let's say at WM 19 WWE had Brock Lesanr face Taker instead of Angle for the title and had Lesnar beat him. At the time it would have looked great and it would have given Lesnar even more of a push then he already had. But then one year later Lesnar was out of the WWE probably for good. Now all of the sudden the most sacred record in the WWE was broken by a guy who was in the WWE a total of 2 years and then dipset never to be seen again.
If the streak is going to end I'd much rather have it be by a guy who is one of the best performers in WWE history and happens to be nicknamed MR Wrestlemania.

1. All I saw last year was another guy trying to break Undertaker's streak. I didn't feel it was any different just because it was HBK.
2. I've said plenty of times some of the greatest matches I have ever seen and HBK/Taker last year wasn't one of them. It seems like it is blasphemous to say that around these parts.
3. I haven't watched WM 13 so try another WM
...If you haven't even seen Wrestlemania 13, this conversation is over because you've literally just proven my point about you not having watched wrestling for very long. When you're older maybe you'll understand why HBK-Taker is so anticipated and beloved.

Depends on who breaks the streak. I don't see Punk or Miz leaving anytime soon so they would have been perfect for it and if they wanted HBK to break the streak, they would have done it last year.

Hold on now old timer. You have assumed that I haven't watched WM 13 because you think I started watching wrestling after that but I started watching wrestling around 1996. It's just that I didn't see WM 13 and haven't watched it yet
Just because I'm not looking forward to HBK/Taker, that doesn't make me less of a wrestling fan than anybody on this damn site and that includes you.
I doubt people thought Lesnar was going to leave after 2 years. Besides whats to say Punk or Miz doesn't suffer a major injury that ends there careers. Or maybe they just don't have as successful careers as people think they will. I think Chris Jericho has had a great career but if he beat Taker and ended the streak I think even that would take away from its greatness. If it's going to be ended I want it to be by the best of the best. To me that comes down to either HBK or Cena at this point.
17-1 with your only loss being to one of the greatest performers in WWE history, who is nicknamed Mr. Wrestlemania, and who you also have a victory over is a lot more impressive then 17-1 with a loss to the Miz.

All I have to say is we will see if HBK can beat Taker. If Taker beats HBK at WM 26, then there is a great chance that streak will be broken next year in my opinion.

Didn't say that, I just said it seriously makes me question what is going on in your brain. Like, I literally cannot conceive how someone could possibly not be looking forward to HBK and Taker having a match at Wrestlemania with the biggest stakes it's ever had before in a match that will in all likelihood be given atleast 30-40 minutes.

It has to be Cena. HBK is on his last legs as a competitor, and so is everyone else over 35 in the WWE considered a legend. The only legit young people who could break the streak would be Orton or Cena, and we already saw Orton fail five years ago, so why would the fans buy him beating Taker now? Because he's oilier? Cena would have to be it. WWE would fucking end TNA if they let Cena beat Taker at WM. You don't even have to turn him heel. Just have him and Taker main event WM, and Cena run out of the arena after he beats him. Tell me you wouldn't watch Raw over TNA the next night if Cena just ended the streak. Go ahead, tell me.

EXACTLY spot on. People have said for years that an extra world title would be pointless for HBK and that my friends is true. The only realistic accolade he can take which will add to his legacy would be ending the streak.

HBK is suffering from the Flair syndrome. If HBK retired in 1998 and that was it, than he could be considered up there. Just like Flair would have been if he would have retired 15 years ago. Staying longer doesn't always enhance your legacy.

Ummm tell me how the fuck they aren't. Huge draws? Check. Respected veterans? Check. Considered among the elite in-ring performers of all time? Check. charisma out the damn earholes? Check. Multiple time World Champions all over the globe? Check. Ric Flair is generally considered the greatest god damn wrestler to ever live.
I'll be amazed if it isn't. I mean, as long as it doesn't have fifteen minutes of two old men lying on the ground, it definitely will be.
