So we had a nice little thread last time I posed a question to you guys that goes against popular opinion, why not do it again. This time it's non-spam though, so make sure to back up your opinion with an explanation.

Am I the only person who thinks that HBK and Hall's ladder match at Summerslam 95 was just as good as, if not better than the original ladder match at Wrestlemania X? I'm watching the SS 95 match right now again but I've always thought this, since I was a child. I may be a tad bit biased because I was a huge HBK fan as a kid and he got the win that time, but just comparing the actual in-ring (and out of it) action of the two matches, I really think the sequel was in fact better than the original in this case.

So, am I the only one here?

I must honestly say I'm a little torn between these two matches

At first I would've said "Wrestlemania 10 without a doubt, it had more magnitude to it"

Yes certainly Wrestlemania 10 had more magnitude to it, because it was like the "who's the real Intercontinential champion" thing and because, well it's Wrestlemania, there's a bigger crowd, there's bigger matches.
But, the match at Wrestlemania also had it's downsides. In my opinion it spend too much time having either one of the wrestlers down on the canvas or outsite the ring being "incapacitated" and about a 1-2 minute scene showing Diesel strut around and moaning about the fact that he just got banned from ringside.
It did how ever use the ladder more appropriately because it was used more often, funny enough it was used mostly by Shawn, as compared to Summerslam 95 where Razor Ramon was using it all the time.

And then there's the Summerslam match, it didn't have as much magnitude behind it if you ask me, sure it was still about the Intercontinential Championship, and it was the same two people, but it wasn't Wrestlemania.
It used the ladder alot less, but it had alot more wrestling and good spots throughout the match as compared to Wrestlemania 10 because as stated earlier, it spend alot of time focusing about one of the wrestlers being incapacitated.

How ever there was one thing that kills a little bit of the awesomeness of both matches if you ask me, the fact that Razor Ramon would go on to sell 1 move on the ladder rather badly.
One being Wrestlemania 10, Shawn dropkicking the ladder, Razor falls off it, the ladder staggers a little bit but ultimately remains on its feet, and Razor is still on the canvas, sure it was a fall from the ladder, he was supposed to sell it, but to me it wasn't as believable as if the ladder had fallen over.
The other one at Summerslam was Shawn Michaels jumping at Razor on the ladder, Razor basicly steps off the ladder and falls onto his back, incapacitated again, looked rather stupid if you ask me.

But in the end, I would have to say Summerslam 95, because I think the constant situations of one or another being incapacitated on the canvas or outsite the ring ruined a bit of the quality of the Wrestlemania match, and because it had alot more wrestling to it, it had more action going on, even thou it didn't use the ladder as much as it could have, there wasn't as many moves that involved the ladder as a height advantage, but it still had more going on.

But still, definatly a close call thou, but Summerslam 95 wins in the end.

I think what made the Mania match such an event was that there hadn't been anything like it before, publically at least. Taken on their own, I think the second one is better because both the wrestlers and the crowd knew what they were doing a bit better. However, had I watched them both live, the first one would definitely have been more exciting to me because they did stuff literally never seen before, and they also had one of the best endings to a ladder match. I don't know which I would say was better now, it's been a long time since I saw the Mania one, and about 6 months since the Summerslam one, but I think, in reflection Summerslam did it better but Mania did it first, and is more important to history. If I had to choose one to watch right now though, it would be the Summerslam one.

Nope your not my friend, I've said for a long time, Razor/Shawn at Summerslam was more risky, hard hitting, high flying then Mania, but Mania's will always be remembered because it was Wrestlemania, has their summerslam match taken place at say Mania 11 or 12, the Mania 10 would of been over shadowed greatly.

It's a shame they never had a 3rd/rubber ladder match but I guess that is shits luck.
