AJ Lee Tweets Stephanie Over How WWE Divas Are Treated

I'm a woman and when you get into the subject of "women's rights or equal rights" Jesus it's like opening a can of worms. I stay away from it, and my husband won't mention it at all.

Like I said before AJ should have said nothing and just soldiered on. You can't fight people on bullshit places like Twitter, no wonder I hate it.

Although are we 100% sure that this was AJ who actually sent out the tweet. My guess is it's Punk with her password causing shit again.

The ironic thing is, this is probably the most interesting thing AJ has done since the Punk/Bryan feud.

Whether you blame it on booking/writing or blame it on her performance, I haven't cared about her character in a good while. I still don't and probably never will because I just don't liker her, but at least she's doing something now, even if it does ultimately lead to her termination.

I think, what's about to get lost in the minutia of #GiveDivasAChance, and this movement, is one glaring issue that we shouldn't forget.

Damn, the McMahons are full of shit, and have an extreme lack of self-awareness.

There are those that are saying AJ shouldn't have sent out the tweet... Which confuses me. I mean, sure, it doesn't look good for the company. But AJ wouldn't have even sent out the tweet, had Stephanie McMahon not sent that pandering bullshit tweet. You guys know what was going on here; the WWE was hounding for good press (once again). This time, it bit them in the ass, because someone had the guts to call them out on it. The best comparison I could make is JR retweeting Vince about some of the shit he's dealt with (both on and off screen) after Vince plugs his B.A. Star bullshit again. (Yes, I know, JR no longer works for the company, but it's still the same concept)

If anything, AJ probably went light on them. If AJ really wanted to set fire to the proverbial village, she could probably go in hard on that whole "independent contractors" bullshit that WWE knows couldn't possibly hold up in a court of law. WWE wants to have its cake and eat it too; they want the worldwide recognition of being a global public company, while also still using the same mom-and-pop practices from when they were a private company.

Which is fine, but when someone calls you out for it, you'd probably better be prepared for it.

I'm not so sure that this is angle. The WWE and Stephenie in particular, are very dependant on social media to protect an image of the company in a positive light. That's not to say that the WWE can't make the most of this and capitalise on what AJ seems to have served up to them on a silver platter. Sure they can go down the route of having a match at Mania but that would require Stephanie being the competitor who is standing against equal rights... That's just insane.

Lets just be honest with one another, AJ said what she wanted and now she is going to have to pay the price. You don't call out your boss on such a touchy issue with the eyes of the world on you. I have absolutely no sympathy for AJ at this point. It's no wonder that her and Punk are so good together, they are loud mouths that don't understand when to just put their head down and get on with things.

Yeah, if this is legit? Then it's a 100% punk move(pun intended) by AJ. You don't call out your boss on twitter. Especially in an attempt to embarrass her.

Maybe AJ doesn't care about her own career anymore and her and Punk are all set money wise and she's ready to move on from WWE. Really don't understand what she hoped to accomplish, other than to piss off her boss.

Umm...their OWN EMPLOYEE should not be the one calling them out on any perceived pandering. And since she did, she fully deserves any consequences that come her way.

By the way, that company gave her all kinds of opportunities that many would love to have and she's made an awfully nice living there financially, I'm sure. Pretty disloyal thing to do on AJ's part.

You know something, if I was VKM, and i wanted to prove a point and shut some impudent mouths at the same time, here is what I would do:

Vince McMahon said:
Ladies and gentlemen, over the last several years, we have tried to deliver you the very best in Sports Entertainment. Now, with the WWE Network, which you can access for the one low price of $9.99, we can give you more quality WWE sports entertainment programming. With that in mind, many of you have made comments regarding opportunities for the Divas in the WWE. Many of you feel that we do not give the Divas much of an opportunity to perform well in the WWE, whether it is on RAW or SmackDown. Maybe we should be giving the Divas more a chance.

In order to do this, I have decided to create an extension of the WWE. I have decided to create a separate company under the WWE banner. I hereby announce the creation of Divas Wrestling Entertainment. Every Friday night at 8PM on the WWE Network, SuperDivas will bring you all the best in Women's sports entertainment live from Full Sail University. You will see all your favorite Divas like Paige, AJ Lee, the Bellas and Charlotte ONLY on SuperDivas. You will watch them battle for not only the Divas Championship, but the DWE Tag Team Championship, and the DWE North American Championship as well.

So, if you wish to catch your favorite Divas, do not forget to turn into SuperDivas, every Friday night at 8 PM, exclusively on the WWE Network.

You want to see heads turn? Now, what will be the excuse now? The Divas will have their own company under WWE. They can now get longer matches that they will NEVER get on RAW or SmackDown. And, AJ and Paige can see if there are any real interest in the Divas as wrestlers. And, it will barely cost McMahon a dime. He has Full Sail to run the shows. He does not need to take the Divas anywhere. And, there will be more matches with longer times for the Divas to shine.

HHH has said in Austin's podcast he wants to give the women more time. A lot of this could have to do with Vince. He is not a fan of women's wrestling. It hasn't been a priority for him since the mid-80's, and when it came back in the late 90's it was more smut and T&A, which eventually evolved into the current diva's division. Could be complete speculation. But I wouldn't be surprised. I think HHH knows there's talent and potential there but the final decision all lies on one old man.

I'm thinking that this could end up being part of a
storyline. Unless it is all a coincidence, in the last few weeks:

1) the Bellas along with other Divas have made public remarks about wishing they had more time to wrestle and how if they were in NXT, they wouldn't want to be called up to the main roster

2) the 30 second tag team match on RAW

3) And now the Stephanie/AJ twitter exchange

I'm just saying it could be a storyline

Aren't there rumours of Charlotte being involved with the divas title in a match at Mania too? This could all be part of a build for a proper divas division with fair coverage. Would be typical of the WWE to build it like this rather than just give them longer matches out of the blue, with the increase in publicity it brings.

Loyal to a company that has stabbed tons of people in the back. Hell they fired her husband on their wedding day.

The thing that people dont get is that aj doesnt owe wwe anything over what contract says. If she wants to point out the complete bullshit someone puts on twitter...she can. If she gets fired over it then thats fine too but why are u getting so mad. Are u part of wwe management. Like wtf

There may be some truth to AJ's complaints but she went all the wrong way to deal with it. You don't blindside and try to humiliate your employers on social media. If you have a problem with work then you discuss it with your employers privately and try to fix the problems like adults. AJ lost a lot of respect and credibility for this stunt.

She makes a full of shit comment and she gets called out on it. Aj didnt say fuck you......she didnt say your a piece of shit. She said if u feel that way bout womens rights then why arent you showing it with how girls are used in the wwe. I mean its a girl sticking up for her friends and herself. Will she get fired.....yeah......but she lost your respect for standing up for what she beleives in.........well sir your a pathetic drone who probably sucks his boses ass.

Pretty much everything AJ wrote in that tweet was bullshit. It's more of a ploy to put herself over instead of helping the divas division. It would of been more productive going to Stephanie behind the scenes instead of looking for attention.

Woman's wrestling isn't a big draw. Their highest rated segments come when they have storylines with male wrestlers or do strip shows and mud wrestling matches back before WWE went PG.

But WWE can still make it into good filler material rather than bad filler. Girls like Natty and Beth Phoenix can wrestle even though they have bland personalities. The Sex appeal aspect has died when they went PG. Just find a bunch of woman that can actually wrestle 5-8 minutes per week. You don't even have to waste too much time with storylines, just let them have respectable matches.

It is a little embarrassing when the divas have 1 minute to do a match. They are better off getting rid of the division if that is the case.
