I alternate between chuckling and shaking my head when reading that thread, though mostly the latter. Like I said in there, a lot of the ones saying that WWE is undoubtedly racist come across like that Faarooq promo where he accosts Vinny Mac, and nearly all of the ones saying that there's no chance there's any racism in WWE come across like David Schultz and the audience on The Morton Downey Jr. Show when Thunderbolt Patterson was on there.

Holy crap. He used as an example showing WWE won't hold any person back because of their color. There might be a racist person within the WWE, but no one is being held back in the WWE due to race.
Unless you have proof WWE is holding down black wrestlers because of their skin color, then your comparison is way off base.

Every few months or so the topic comes up, the exact same arguments are used, perhaps only a few names change. People looking for racism find racism. People not looking for it don't see it or don't particularly care if other people do. People who don't know what they're talking about argue with people who don't even understand the issue. Insults are thrown and the thread quickly devolves from a topic that could be seriously discussed into the usual bitch-fest. Then when forum members get bored, the thread dies, only to reincarnate later. Thus is the cycle of racism in wrestling.

Though not Japanese, there was a pretty famous WWF Champ who played a Japanese guy.
