I thought this idea up while playing as Michelle McCool on Smackdown VS. RAW 2009 in the Career Mode (AKA: I won every WWE title with her). What if the WWE decided to give the Divas division a push and recruit someone (almost like Awesome Kong from TNA) and make them be really "dominate"? But, what is, "really 'dominate'"? By "really 'dominate'" (sorry, I love repeating myself), I mean having a Diva go as far as to be a number one contender for a men's title, such as the IC title or, at a highly unlikely level, the WHC or WWE title, and actually win it. Now, I know they tried it, kind of, with Chyna winning the IC title and being a number one contender for the WWF title. They have been parading Beth Phoenix around as the dominate Diva for a long time now, also. But what if they recruited a beastly woman to compete against the men. What if this Diva goes on to become the WHC or WWE Champion? Or, could/would the WWE risk doing it, with all the fuss about men putting their hands on women and causing harm to them.
Here's a scenario I thought of. The WWE hires a horrendous Diva (someone that looks kind of like this: http://tinyurl.com/dfb6xy), that happens to be a good wrestler. The current WHC is more of a comedic champion (example: Santino Marella). The horrendous Diva (we'll name her Margretha, because that's an ugly name) and Beth Phoenix have several matches together, and in the Women's Championship match, Santino interferes, costing Margretha the title opportunity. This makes Margretha angry (see: http://i43.tinypic.com/20ft3jb.jpg), prompting a series of matches between the two, leading up to a WHC match at the upcoming PPV, in which Margretha wins (see: http://i44.tinypic.com/4zudt5.jpg), but Santino retains the next night on RAW, with help from Beth and Rosa.
So let me know your thoughts. Could you see WWE doing something like this in the future? What kind of matches would lead up to the beastly Diva's title reign? Would it be watchable/entertaining? (Well, anything with Santino would be entertaining) Or, would it ultimately fail and just ruin the WWE's ratings for that time period?
