A question for the men

some guy in another thread said:
Do you really think anyone would actually do something about it unless the woman in question seemed to be in any distress?

unless the situation looks severe I'm not going to insert myself into said situation because there's no need to and the vast majority of the human populous has a similar mentality.
This was said to me the other day and I've been thinking about it since then so I have to ask.

would you do something about it if if you saw a man just walk into a women's rest room? I'm having trouble believing the majority of men in this country would just let something like that slide without at least saying something to an employee.

I know I would say something to someone.

I walked into the women's restroom a couple years back. I was going to ask my wife something when we were at the bar. Nobody tried to stop me. Mostly, they just giggled. Once inside said restroom, my wife and her friend told me to leave, but not because they they thought I was a pervert or anything. They just wanted to fart in peace.

Such a thing happening by pure accident isn't unusual. Also he could have a small daughter which requires assistance.

That basically sums up the difference: if he's there because he can't help it that's one thing, but if he's there because "get over it, I'm doing what I want", he's going to get reported/yelled at.

I would at least ask him if he realizes what he's doing.

Also; just make all bathrooms a lockable room with a toilet and a sink.

The real issue with public bathrooms is the single ply toilet paper most establishments use.

^^ Speaking about the true issues.

Also I've had to walk into the women's bathroom before because my daughter (who was 3 at the time) absolutely refused to just go into the men's bathroom with me when we were at a store once. It was empty when we walked in, not so much when we were going to leave. Not the most comfortable situation, but I just cast my eyes down apologized and said my daughter needed to go to the bathroom.

The real issue is actually the nonsense you try to pass as toilet doors in America. You could make eye contact with people on the outside, wtf?!

Don't they all have stalls?

Big fucking deal, go into your mini bathroom and do what ya gotta do, no one gives a fuck.

People are so weird man :lmao:

Back when I was in college I was on the debate team and we had a debate at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, and they had stalls with doors of actual wood with knot holes in them. Not only could you see outside on the edges of the door, but you could see through the knot holes. I had to poop in constant fear.

One time I was at a gym I'm not really familiar with, and the entrance to the locker rooms is one of those halls where it's men to the left and women to the right. I needed to use the bathroom. As I walked into the hall, I was looking at my phone as I was expecting a text. I turned right, assuming that because the bathroom was on the right part of the locker room, going right might lead me there. When I looked up from my phone I saw a woman, fully clothed thankfully (I would have felt much worse if she was even partially naked), down the end of the hall. I don't know if she saw me, because I bolted out of there as quickly and quietly as I could. When I got back to the entrance there was an older guy just kind of looking at me funny, and I just said, "Oops, made a wrong turn."

Awkward, but understandable.

I guess if I saw a guy go into the women's locker room/bathroom and stay there for more than a couple minutes, I would notify an employee. It can't hurt, they would probably get someone of the proper gender to go into the bathroom/locker room to pop in and make sure nothing bad was going on.

It depends.

What restrooms are you using? Unless you're a 7 footer I don't see how this happens.

Depends on how suspicious it seems. Keep an ear out. See if he's in there longer than a minute. Common sense and context. No big deal.

I'm a shade under that and I can't see over the stalls. Difference in bathrooms I guess.

That's not what she's talking about.

She means if you're sitting down and facing the door. There are small gaps on either side of the door where you can see out and people can see in.
