A Fantastic Way to Bring Back Jericho

As we all know, Chris Jericho has taken off again for some touring with his band, Fozzy. This time though, he has left it open as to whether he may not return. Now Jericho is one of the smartest guys in the wrestling industry and each time he has returned , he has done so with original ideas, like the cryptic vignettes or the surprise return at Rumble. I have been trying to think of a way he could possibly return and make himself still relevant on a main event scale after the past few months of elevating talent(kudos to him by the way) and basically having his shoulders pinned left right and centre.
What if WWE started airing vignettes again very similar to his previous return, where alot of people were thinking this time around, or Takers vignettes for 2-21-12 were for Sting. What if WWE actually played this up this time around, each week another clue dropped to make the average fan and internet mark think that maybe, finally, Sting is coming to WWE and coming for The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 30. They could utilise the fact that this person is a former multiple time WCW/World Champion, has never feuded with Undertaker before and has NEVER met The Phenom at Wrestlemania. When it comes time, they could have crows in the arena, basically flog the entire Sting/Crow gimmick he used in WCW.....but when he frotns Undertaker, under the paint and mask is JERICHO.
I think if written well, this could be huge, espcecially if Sting does in fact sign with WWE BEFORE mANIA 30. i KNOW THIS IS FANTASY, BUT i THINK ITS AN ORIGINAL way tobring Jericho back and give Taker a fresh feud for Mania 30

That's an interesting idea...Let's say that it did happen the way you described it..IF Sting was miraculously signed by WWE in time for Wrestlemania 30, then I'd like to see a highly competitive match between Jericho and Sting at The Elimination Chamber PPV before Wrestlemania 30 to see who gets to wrestle The Undertaker...

There's one big problem with your idea. If WWE is teasing that they finally have Sting the fans are going to be very disappointed to see Jericho instead. I don't care how popular Jericho is, for WWE to imply they are going to deliver on something the fans have wanted for years only to pull a swerve at the payoff would not go over very well.

Fair call, I am not saying WWE say they have Sting, just pushing their vignettes down that line, people are going to speculate as they so often do. Look at TNA with this Thursday and the commotion of whether it is Low Ki, is it Adam Pearce? Or whomever. I just think in the lead up to Mania 30, say the night after the Royal Rumble, done properly this could be a major swerve. And as soulblazed suggested,.ivf they did in fact get Sting, a good way for Sting to get the ring rust off and Jericho to have a quality ppv match on his return, Jericho vs Sting with the winner taking Undertaker at Mania 30. As we know Jericho would have no issue putting over Sting.

Chris Jericho is not big enough to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania. No one would believe that he could beat him. The best option is to do John Cena vs The Undertaker, I've been saying it for about 2 years now, it has to happen.

Personally, it's too big of a deal to go into just to bring Chris Jericho back to compete in the same sort of role he's been in for the past couple of years. That role has been to keep excitement and interest in his programs high while simultaneously putting over young talent & looking like a major star himself.

Taker vs. Jericho at WrestleMania XXX doesn't have any oomph to it, in my opinion. We've seen them wrestle before and Jericho seems content with this place in the grand scheme of things. Jericho is not a money opponent for Taker for WM, that's just how it is. Would it be a good match? I'm sure that it would be but when it comes to a match for Taker's streak, good is simply no longer good enough. Taker's streak has to seem as though it's in jeopardy to really drive home the interest and Jericho doesn't have the steam to do that. As it pertains to part timers that can deliver that kind of threat to Taker's streak, it's down to either The Rock or Brock Lesnar.

I don't have any real major interest in seeing Taker vs. Rock because I'm just personally over The Rock at this time. It'd be great to see him and all but I think a lot of the excitement he's generated over the past few years has really started to dwindle. The Rock not appearing the night after WrestleMania did rub a lot of people the wrong way, both in WWE and fans themselves. I've heard his name mentioned during Raw a few times since and it's been met with more boos than cheers. Besides, considering Rock's injury, he might not want to risk coming back. He has a lucrative movie career going right now and is reportedly a heavy favorite to star in a reboot of The Terminator, filming of which is scheduled to take place right smack in the midst of WrestleMania season.

For Lesnar, I just don't have any faith in Lesnar not injuring Taker during the match. Lesnar works stiffer than a gallon of Everclear in the first place, so the odds of Taker walking out of the match without being hurt aren't good. He either doesn't care all that much about protecting his opponents or he simply doesn't have the necessary skill to do so.

Jericho will always be great in my opinion, but WWE teasing that Sting is coming with vignettes only for Jericho to show up will only piss a lot of people off. Aside from that, if Sting really signed with WWE, there'd be almost no way of keeping it under wraps. It'd most certainly leak out somehow or someway unless the meetings & talks were kept extraordinarily hush hush and held between only a couple of people that could be trusted to keep their mouths shut, such as Vince and Triple H. It would also leak out over the net that it was really Jericho planning to return, so the mystique would be obliterated. Whenever the vignettes played, you'd almost certainly have smarks in the crowd starting Y2J chants all over the place.

No. just no. Personally if he never comes back I'll be happy. I've had 0 interest in jericho since around 2004. It's always the same shit with him nad he hasn't evolved at all. still harping on things he did 10-12 years ago instead of things he's done recently. He's become a younger, less interseting(and believe me I have a hard time even writing htis) version of FLair, always talking about the past but completly unable to compete or compare to anyone under 40. Flair's been doing this since the mid 90's and honestly, he's been useless since even before he 1st came to wwf at the time. THe only thing jericho adapted was taking a finisher from a mediocre carlito and renaming to match his y2j gimmick which was played out in oh, 2001. jericho's actually devolved as a wrestler and gotten worse and less interesting. at least flair tries to remain in touch with the boys while jericho goes off playing at rock star with fozzy. sure flair didn't have a lot of choice but to work as long as he did and shill himself to every company and promotion that would waste money on him because of his 20 ex wifes and wasteful spending, but he didnt' leave the business to try his hand at some other money scheme since he was aware that his only talent was in selfpromotion within the world of wrestling and resting on the backs of people who had to bend over backwards to make him look good in the ring. And that is the point where jericho is now, only about 15yrs younger then flair was at the time he admited to his scam.

It would be pretty underwhelming if Y2J appeared instead of Sting. I'm not even interested in a Sting return but if they teased it and Chris Jericho appeared instead, I would be pretty pissed. Never mind those who are massive Sting fans.

I don't hate the idea of Jericho/Taker at WM30. The match would be of a high quality and Jericho is worthy of a match with Jericho. In terms of marketing; Y2J is probably a bigger name overall than someone like Edge or CM Punk. I would prefer Cena or someone younger who may actually end the streak but it would still be a fantastic match.

Jericho's lost too many PPV's... I mean he just lost to Fandango at Mania .. And to Ryback before he left again. I think the outcome of this would be too obvious that people won't even care.

Jericho vs Taker would have worked if it happened around 2012 when Jericho returned.

I like Jericho and all but he really lost a lot of credibility putting over people.

IF Jericho comes back I agree they need to do something big with him, as his "bulletproof" veneer has worn off... but I'd much rather see him win the Rumble or get the 10th IC title rather than just lose to Taker. If Taker is gonna lose, has to be against someone younger and meaningful, no point otherwise...to me that rules out Sting, good as the match would be - it would not serve any real benefit to have either guy go over the other at Mania.

Personally, if he did sign, I think we might see a 6 man match at Mania 30, Taker, Sting and The Warrior - those 3 against The Shield would give the younger guys a massive rub - especially if they managed to steal the win... Taker's streak would go, but there'd be blame to be shared and that can set up Taker v Sting v Warrior in a 3 way feud through the rest of the year...

I agree, with The Brain. Jericho's amicable and face and all, but Sting is on a huge level. And even if you're going with the heel Jericho, there'll be too many smarks cheering for him and ruining his credibility as a heel. Your idea isn't bad, but it isn't practical.

As for Mania, I think it should be Bryan vs Taker, or Ambrose v Taker. Not because I'm an indy mark, but I sure as hell don't want Cena vs Taker, 'cause then, you lose 2 slots on the Mania card and also it doesn't do any good for either man to win.

we finally get rid of the guy and you already want to bring him back? what is wrong with you? jericho hasn't been relevant in any way since possibly 2004-2005 at the latest. I don't know if it wasw him or wwe but his pathetic change in moveset (codebreaker? really? turning the impressive walls of jericho/liontamer into a cheap boston crab. no longer doing the double powerslam that he did which was impressive for a guy his size) ruined any interest I had in him, as well as his stagnation in progression of career. he's not moved up or stayed main event, even after as he constantly reminds us being hte first undisputed champ, he's done nothing of real note since. he dropped from possible main event to mid card and now he's a glorified jobber. they bring him in for short stints for a pop and to enhance new guys coming to the roster and then he wanders off to play with his little band. there highest ranking was 143 on the charts for their 2012 album. he only comes back to wwe to boost bad sales of bad albums and cash in when he's low on money.
althought maybe his leaving is a good thing in other ways. he might have considered what total dedication to wrestling did to hsi friends eddie and chris b. and decided he didn't want to risk getting into their type of situations himself. if that is the case, then good for him. i might not have any interest in him as either a wrestler or a muscician, but i would hate for anything truly aweful to happen to him. there's been too many early deaths for too many talented or formerly talented in his case, wrestlers in the last 10 years or so.
