A believable threat....

We recently saw the team of Kane and Daniel Bryan win the tag team championship; No one could possibly believe that the PTP's etc.. would beat Kane and D-Bry. I know there have been threads similar to this, but frankly those were just about rebuilding the division, so my question is, if you could make a tag team that could actually be considered a threat to the current champions who would you put in the team?

The "two top superstars that infight in a tag team" story almost always ends with them getting beaten by a tag team that no one thought could win. Because they're busy fighting against each other, one stabs the other in the back to cause them to lose the titles on a Monday night, then you have the payoff match on PPV. (Or, lately, the next three PPV's.)

The exceptions I can think of off the top of my head? Kurt Angle/Samoa Joe, which ended when Kurt won a match to become the lone holder of the tag belts, and Owen Hart/Yokozuna, who were beaten straight up by the Smokin' Gunns. It's a reliable storyline that sells almost every time.

Bryan/Kane will hold onto the belts for at most, a couple months. I'd expect their payoff match to be at Survivor Series, or at the latest, the Royal Rumble. They won't be running this story come WrestleMania time.

Any team including PTP has a chance at beating them because Daniel Bryan & Kane are a threat to themselves. They are not on the same page, you always see them arguing & bickering with each other, shoving & piefacing each other around, I expect Bryan to snap one of these days & turn on Kane, costing themselves the belts on purpose to set up a rematch between the two on PPV, and that's all you need for them to lose the belts to whomever. When they are a threat to their own team, you don't need to create another tag team just so they can look like threats to them. However I think the team of Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara can be threats to them, and I see them winning the belts off Team Friendship next, to build up towards their own feud & match.

I see your point, but what if, they do get on the same page, the "bickering" part of the angle gets dropped and they become a good solid tag team? Then if that happens, In my opinion, PTP,sin cara and rey, usos, ect. wouldn't be a true threat to kane and Daniel Bryan. If the bickering part dies down,they get on the same page, and so on, could you still see that happening?

Hypothetically, let's say DB and Kane do not implode, and a tag team beats them straight up without DB and Kane defeating each other in the process.

My first thought would be in a tag team fatal four way, since Kane and DB don't have to be pinned to lose the titles.

But in a pinfall case, none of the current teams would but another thrown together pair could. My money would be on Sin Cara and Rey, since those two with the belts would be just as interesting as DB and Kane.

However, I do firmly believe DB and Kane will lose their titles by attacking each other and another team capitalizes. It won't be a clean victory since both are considered upper card talent at this point.

In all honesty, I don't believe it'll be too difficult for WWE to make the teams a viable threat to Bryan & Kane. As has been pointed out, the fact that Bryan & Kane aren't on the same page, kayfabe, is a massive weakness for a tag team. Their personal rivarly and bickering have almost cost them a couple of matches already, including a rematch gainst Kofi & Truth on Raw last Monday for the titles.

If the PTPs go a more serious route, then it won't be all that difficult to build them as a very strong team. O'Neil's brief promo last week was great and that in and of itself has already gotten people looking at the team, or at least thinking about them, in something of a different light. I'm guessing that WWE also intends to keep Mysterio & Sin Cara as a tag team for a while and they'd be a solid threat to Kane & Bryan. As we saw this past Friday on SmackDown!, there are several teams waiting in the wings and all the WWE really has to do is put some solid attention on some of those teams. The Usos have a lot of potential as do Kidd & Gabriel. Maybe WWE will keep Cody Rhodes & Sandow as a team, doubtful but possible.

I look for Bryan & Kane to ultimately form a more cohesive unit over the coming weeks in which it'll seem as though they're getting over their issues, thereby gaining even more success as a team. Something will eventually happen to lead to a breakdown, such as personal envy or jealousy perhaps. It's also possible that they'll keep a friendly rivalry going even as a team that will eventually blossom back into what it currently is. One will turn on the other completely, most likely, or their issues will finally catch up to them and cost them the titles. Afterward, they'll probably embark on another singles feud for a bit.

Well maybe Kane and D. Bryan is the start of throwing teams together with bigger names. They use to do that all the time. Not to mention what if PTP cheat they are heels. What if Kane and DB go against a faction or stable with more people and get dominated. Like Evolution use to do. I am just hoping this is the start of a new and better tag division. Maybe Henry comes back and teams with someone or even Big Show.

The Miz and Damien Sandow looked very good together. They could make a great team, and would really give Kane and Bryan a run for their money.

I don't see this as being an issue like you do. I wouldn't go as far as to say that the WWE put Kane and Bryan together to give one of the young tag teams a big win to jump start these young teams, but I do feel that it will be the ultimate end game.

I expect Kane and Bryan to hold the titles past HIAC and drop them at the Survivor Series. I can envision a Survivor Series style matchup for the tag titles and whichever young team WWE feels like is ready for the push will get the victory.

The two most likely threats will be PTP and Mysterio/Cara. I see PTP more likely as they could benefit off of a Kane/Bryan meltdown and win the belts. That moves them to a feud with Mysterio/Cara which I really think will boost the tag division.

I could see PTP winning. They are an established tag team who work well with each other. Bryan and Kane hate each other so the team that actually works together can win. It'd make sense.
