For a moment, the part of XFear will be played by me. I have decided to save him time by posting for him. DISCLAIMER - XFEAR DID NOT ACTUALLY POST THIS. THIS IS MY IMPRESSION OF WHAT HE WILL LIKELY SAY. THE BELOW QUOTE BOX IS ENTIRELY FICTIONAL AND HERE STRICTLY FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES! Earmuffs...

IC, is there anyway you could post a poll option for "neither!?" Shit. Here are two bands that such sucked the life out of the 80's with their generic, watered down, radio friendly hair metal crap. Anyone who votes in this poll for either of these bands has fucking checked out mentally and deserves a pit stop from the Nasty Boys. Neither of these bands did anything of note, aside from maybe playing the same exact song over and over with slightly different lyrics. Cock. Balls. Not sure why I said that, must be my tourettes. Anyway, the only good thing coming out of this sludgefest of a match-up is the fact that one of these bands will be eliminated, unless they tie and both advance, in which case I will kill myself.

Ok, X, whatever you say. Bon Jovi wins this - and many future matches - in a landslide. How many better, more complete bands have existed? Bon Jovi is still churning out #1 hits, and the 1980's were their launching pad into superstardom. Since I am not at all worried about Skid Row upsetting Jon Bon Jovi, I am going to save my major pro-Jovi post for the next round.

These are two of my favorite bands, and actually I prefer Skid Row. They are not a hair band as some may pigeon-hole them. Listen to the Slave to the Grind album- it's a metal record. With that being said, they only put out 2 albums with the original line up before things started falling apart. Bon Jovi continues to churn out hits and their music has withstood the test of time. It really is saying alot when your band is still relevant 25 years after you started. Although I prefer Skid Row, my vote goes to the boys from Jersey.

I don't really care what Xfear say, the fact is, Bon Jovi, especially in the 80s was churning out a lot of hits...Wanted Dead or Alive, Born to Be My Baby, Bed of Roses, and then there's the small matter of Living on a Prayer.
The fact is, no matter what you think of 2000-present Bon Jovi, the band's work during the 80s is there best work... Slippery when Wet and New Jersey being the big two during that era. Even early 90s when they released songs like Always, Keep the Faith is some of the best work.

Musically, a very solid group. Sambora on the guitars fits well, and the other two members on drums (Torres) and piano (Bryan) add to the sound, and vocal harmony of the group.
