70's Region Final - Fawlty Towers vs Three’s Company

Fawlty Towers beat fucking MASH?! You kidding me? More people watched MASH's series finale than any other TV show in history. Wow. Anyway, Three's Company should win here. Much funnier, entertaining, and Chrissy, Janet, Terri, and Cindy were much better to look at than John Cleese. And John Ritter was funnier than Cleese. There, I said it.

I wasn't sure Fawlty Towers would get past round one. It's in the final. Never saw that coming.

F.T. beat some shows perhaps it should not have, but that doesn't change the fact that I am still backing it. I never got into Three's Company, though I am unsure as to why. Fawlty Towers on the other hand, hooked me despite hardly EVER being shown in the States. It's some of John Cleese's best work. Anyone who still hasn't seen an episode needs to hit up Youtube post haste.

My vote goes to Three's Company. I like Fawlty Towers and I'm surprised at how close this round is. I prefer Three's Company though. I like both shows and am ok with either one advancing, however, I voted for Three’s Company as the better show because it never gets old. I could watch marathons of it for hours.

Again, I come in here to vote, and once again....I TIE UP THIS FUCKING ROUND. What the FUCK is wrong with you people. Three's Company is likely one of the best shows to ever come on television. Three's Company was shown just about everywhere in the world, and now it most definitely is in syndication. Fawlty Towers can't even be found in America anymore. At least not around my parts. I think that means Three Company wins by default.


It also wins because I will disembody you if you don't vote for Three's Company.

I voted for Fawlty Towers. In my mind, this show is the epitome of what British Comedy should aspire to be. John Cleese was a genius and this show is just an amazing endeavour. From the very first episode, you know what you are letting yourself in for and it follows through. After Monty Python, John Cleese had a lot to prove when going solo and this was how he did it. So few episodes made and yet here it is. It is in the final of a tournament filled with long running sitcoms that have stayed on the air for years. This is truly a testament to how good this show is and is one of the best comedies of all time.

Say all you want about British comedy and you can say that it pales in comparison to the American style but Fawlty Towers is an amazing show that really broke down th barriers of what makes a good sitcom all over the world. Fawlty Towers here.
