70's Region - 2nd Round - Laverne & Shirley vs Fawlty Towers

If you're a true lover of comedy, you have to back Fawlty Towers. A series that has a legacy based on only twelve episodes! How many sitcoms in this tournie have that many or even less than that?! This is one of the pure pieces of gold that you are able to treasure because it wasn't too much or too little, it was just right.

Not to mention you have the stellar cast that is led by John Cleese, while Monty Python brought him to the dance, this showed he can be a standalone comedian with his own series and he brought his A*** Game, yes I gave him three stars because that's what his performances were in Fawlty. I can't say much about Laverne & Shirley, think I only seen a couple of episodes, but given I can't remember much about them, it pretty much says how Fawlty Towers stands out as a series.

If you truly appreciate pure comedy gold, then vote for Fawlty Towers, without a series like this you would not have inspiration for generations that follow.

I am so glad that Fawlty Towers made it out of the last round.

Really though, this round should be a hell of a lot easier for it. Fawlty Towers is a fucking exceptional show. I recently got the box set and watched every single episode in succession. Never before did I realise how epic a show it really was. You could argue that it was very unoriginal episodically but I think that John Cleese brought his fantastic and exuberant brand of humour to that show and it brought it to life. The formula was so simple and yet was a classic every time it aired.

I am going to vote for Fawlty Towers and I fell like it definitely deserves to go through here.

Fawlty Towers is the better show here. It was a hilariously awesome show and it easily gets my vote because there were no bad episodes. One of my favorite parts was how the sign often said silly things like "Fatty Owls" instead of Fawlty Towers.

Fawlty Towers gets my vote here as well. Laverne & Shirley was a pretty shit show, the only good thing about it was Lenny & Squiggy who were fucking awesome, but Fawlty Towers is easily the better all-around television show. One of the few over-hyped British comedies that actually delivered when I watched it, back during that brief period of time when John Cleese was extremely funny. Gets my vote here.
