You Bastard IC. Putting two of my all time favourite bands up against each other. I can't vote on this one it is just to fucking hard. Both bands are great Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler are just awesome. Sultans of Swing is one of the anthems of summer. the entire Brothers in Arms album is flawless. You can't say a thing wrong about them.

Blue Oyster Cult were metal before it was a term in common usage. They are like Uriah Heep in that regard. They are still going for those that didn't know. They have a great sound and everything. listen to "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" from a storytelling point of view it is great in its story about young lovers in the vein of Romeo and Juliet. Then Musically they are great as well.

I have to make room in my sig for that. I am a bastard.

Actually, this is just how STACKED the 70's region is. We are actually within 4 or 5 more matches before the end of the 70's region, and there have been so few quality gaps it's mind blowing. Before this tournament, I never realized how much musical talent came out of the 70's.

I am 100% behind Dire Straits for the reasons Shadow stated. Brothers in Arms as amazing, Sultans of Swing one of the most fun songs ever, and of course who can forget the song and video for Money for Nothing?

BOC is awesome to be sure. "Don't Fear the Reaper" was creepy and yet so beautiful at the same time. These two bands are hands down amazing, and whomever you vote for, you won't get flack from me.

Dire Straits! Money for Nothing has one of my favorite guitar riffs of all time, and I think Mark Knopfler is one of the most underrated guitarists. Brothers in Arms was a great album, one of my favorites, and Sultans of Swing is great. BOC is a good band, but honestly, how many people know any of their songs other than Don't Fear the Reaper and Godzilla, and maybe Burning for You?
