2014 NFL Draft

So if you told me 3 months ago we were gonna get Teddy Bridgewater at the #32 pick in the first round, I would have asked for whatever drugs you had so I could be high as fuck too.

He had a bad work out. Big fucking deal. Three years of game tape that shows an accurate QB that can make all the throws, already knows how to call protections, AND (my favorite thing of all) he already goes through progression reads like a pro already. No more having Ponderosa stare down a receiver for 4 seconds before waffling and running for his life.

Got sidetracked unfortunately, but I'm happy with my team's pick of CJ Mosley, although I thought they might go for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. And the Brownies got their Johnny Football. I look forward to T-Sizzle making his acquaintance.

I'm a Steeler fan so I can't say I'm super happy the Ravens landed a stud like Mosley considering he's gonna be after my quarterback twice a season. That being said I hope him and Sizzle light up Manziel and his dirty dogs.

Yeah, I don't think there's any way I'm not boarding the Johnny Cleveland hype train. I'm so ready for this. Please be good, Johnny.

I wish you guys luck in all sincerity. I like it when the division is strong. High water raises all boats. Unfortunately, Johnny might be taking the field without Josh Gordon. One step forward, two steps back.

Ryan Shazier is no slouch. Fortunately for us, Big Ben and Joe Cool can take the punishment. Johnny and Andy better eat their Wheaties.

Wow. I just saw this. I didn't like the idea of putting Watkins next to Gordon because I think it is a waste and possible headache to have two #1 WRs but maybe the trade was a mistake now that Gordon continues to work his way out of the league.

If Browns management knew about the violation pre-trade and didn't consider the possibility of suspension, they deserve as much shit as possible. That is incompetence, something this franchise showed a lot of in hiring a coach recently.

It's worth noting that the draft trades give a pretty clear signal the Browns are playing a long game here. They clearly preferred Gilbert to Watkins and I'll admit I'll be pretty devastated to have to see this season play out without Gordon if all of that goes down, but over the course of the next five years passing on Watkins may have been the better call.

Or Watkins will be a once in a generation stud and this will go down as a classic draft blunder.

Sigh.

Its the latter. It's Cleveland. Its ALWAYS the latter.

Just turned on the draft today for background noise so to catch up on a few things:

1) The Texans I think messed up by not being more aggressive moving up to grab Bridgewater. The Vikings snuck in and got him and who knows where they will get a QB. Rumor is they are looking to trade for Mallett, I'm not sold on that. Although with Watt, Clowney, and if Louis Nix stays in shape and motivated that is a scary line.

2) Blake Bortles at 3, still surprised so we'll see how it plays out...

3) As much as I wanted to see Johnny Football go to Dallas for the pure circus, I have to say I like their pick to build their offensive line to protect the guy they gave franchise money to.

4) Bigger fan of day 2 with all the trades.

Being in the Houston area, the vibe I'm getting from what sports talk radio I heard yesterday is that a lot of people agree with you. If not Bridgewater then one of the other top QB prospects. The Carr named scared some folks off of Derek (probably gave the front office more pause than they'd admit), but I thought they might just grab him with that 33rd pick. Nobody around here believes that Ryan Fitzpatrick is the answer, that's for sure.

Phew... Ravens got an O-lineman. Don't know the kid, but damned if we don't need all the help we can get there.

He's got a master's degree in math and another one in math education. Neat. Matt Birk was a brainiac and he worked out pretty well for us.
