Here we have war vs. love. I'll take war. Platoon just has all kinds of greatness about it. The cast, the story, the lines from the soldiers are just great. It has so few flaws that it has what it takes to make a decent run in this tourney. When Harry Met Sally is good as well. Its far from a bad movie, with the diner scene being absolutely hilarious. However, at the end of the day it just doesn't do it for me like Platoon does.

Well KB, you have pretty muched summed up my opinion of When Harry met Sally. One scene. and that one scene was better done by Kurt Angle and Hemme. Platoon on the other hand was a great movie. A movie to watch with the boys. A movie to watch with your girlfriends dad. A movie to watch with your girlfriend, after she does something stupid. It is just the better movie. Let the Platoon move forward!

For a guy, I'm pretty into sappy love stories. "Dawson's Creek" ranks as one of my favorite television shows of all time for Christ Sakes. But even I don't really dig "When Harry Met Sally". I've never understood the hype it has gotten. I've seen a shit load of better romances then that, but whatever.

“Platoon”, while not the greatest war flick, is still a great fucking movie. Oliver Stone did a tremendous job capturing what war in Vietnam was probably a lot like. The movie just felt very authentic. Also, the acting in it was fantastic as well. Great movie.

“Platoon” easily receives my vote in this one.

There are moments in Platoon that get just a little TOO over-the-top. Then again, it's Oliver Stone, he's known to get a little over-the-top. But so much of the movie is so well done. Willem Dafoe, Tom Berenger, and Charlie Sheen all give great performances, especially Dafoe, whom I feel was robbed of an Oscar. It really is much better than When Harry Met Sally. Course, I'm not big on a whole lot of romantic comedies, so maybe I'm just biased.

Platoon is just a phenominal movie. Not usually my kind of movie but when I saw it - wow. It's exactly the kind of film you can watch with anyone.

That being said I've never seen When Harry Met Sally and don't intend to because it doesn't look good. :D

I love a good war flick, and Platoon was. It has everything a war flick loving guy could want in it. A little over the top, but hey...that's quite alright.

When Harry Met Sally is really onl good becuase of one scene like mentioned already. The acting is mediocre, it really is. The plot sucks in my opinion. I just felt that it was a god awful movie and is remembered too much for a half entertaining scene.

I vote for Platoon.

Platoon, hands down. Oliver Stone gave us one of two Vietnam movies that could be considered "definitive". (The other of course, Coppola's Apocalypse Now) When Harry Met Sally gave us the fake orgasm, and that's pretty much it.
