TNA Forced To Heavily Edit Upcoming Shows Due to Utilizing a Lucha Underground Talent

Via TNAInsider:

As we reported earlier this week, Hernandez has been released by TNA Wrestling after a contractual dispute occurred between the company and Lucha Underground.

PWInsider reports that Hernandez was hired after a strong recommendation by MVP to be added to his BDC stable. TNA management went along with the request and brought him in.

TNA sources told PWInsider that Hernandez told the company he was free from any contractual obligations to Lucha Underground. TNA made him sign an agreement saying that he presented himsel as a free agent.

Lucha Underground sources said that Hernandez asked for his release, which was in the works, but didn’t go through. The company was fine with him taking outside bookings, but didn’t want him to appear on another company’s television until after Ultima Lucha, which airs on August 5. Hernandez instead told TNA he had a verbal release and provided documentation that they were in contact.

TNA told Hernandez they would be glad to use his footage if he wanted to pursue legal action, but when the deadline they gave him came and went, they released him from the promotion. TNA told PWInsider that they offered Lucha Underground money to use the scenes they’d already filmed with Hernandez, but Lucha Underground is denying that ever happened.

Man, what a fuckin' mess this is.

Most of the TNA roster will leave at September and this is just another stepin thre destrcution of TNA.
The Hardy Boyz & Kurt Angle & Bobby Roode & Austin Aries will probably go to the WWE.
Bully Ray will sign a legends contract with WWE (with Devon as well).
The Wolves & Kenny King & Homicide will go to ROH.
MVP will go to NJPW \ NOAH,
Eric Young & Drew Galloway & Mr. Anderson will stay on the independent scene as they all work outisde of TNA now or they will join GFW.
Jeff Jarrett will just stay with his stuipid GFW.
Lashley will go back to MMA or Bellator.
Bram & Abyss will probably go to GFW or just stay in the independent scene.
Gail Kim & Awesome Kong will go to WWE.
Taryn Tarrel & Brooke will go to NXT.

This leaves you with the following roster:
Chris Melendez
Crazzy Steve
DJ Z
Eli Drake
Ethan Carter III
Jessie Godderz
Mahabali Shera
Mandrews
Grado
Manik
Micha
Robbie E
Rockstar Spud
Tigre Uno
Tyrus
Angelina Love
Jade
Madison Rayne
Marti Bell
Rebel
Velvet Sky.

This is just a lame ass roster which is going to get TNA out of business in the next 6 months or so.

I think you are in for serious disappointment there hoss. TNA has been rumored to be going out of business for years but it perserves. Unfortunately idiots like you will continue to post nonsense that TNA is going out of business because you are pathetic and have no life.

Wishing for a company that does no harm to anyone to die is stupid. But there are times when a company just needs to go. TNA needs to go. Not necessarily out of business but the people in charge need to change drastically. The way the company has been handled since Hogan came in has been awful. TNA had a purpose. They were the 2nd biggest wrestling company in the world. They had a very good spot. Yet the people in charge were never smart enough to realize what they had. They never realized they didn't need to challenge WWE to be successful. They are a horribly run business. They had their shot. They could have cemented themselves as number 2. But they didn't and that is why they are in the shape they are now. TNA is not run by competent people. If they go out of business, they have no one to blame but themselves.

Anyways on to the issue at hand. This is really bad on TNA's part. It seemed Lucha Underground made it clear that you can't take TV bookings until after August 5th. But hey Hernandez said he was released. No, he said he had a verbal agreement to be released. However that does not mean he is free from his contract. He had a verbal agreement to end a written contract. Which there are two things that could mean. One is the contract was orally modified/ended and Hernandez/TNA should have sued LU. The other is the contract stated that it could not be verbally modified (which means to end the contract, they would need to have it in writing and signed by Hernandez) and LU never agreed to waive the written requirement. It sounds like the latter is what happened. Hernandez and TNA honestly are the two at fault. LU seems innocent in this whole situation.

I don't see why any wrestling fan would want to a promotion to die or cease to exist. Wrestling has been in the doldrums for a while and has never got back to the big days of WCW/WWF Monday night wars.

TNA has been badly run, and it's sad to see the situation it's in, they really need to find a new home for Impact as the studio they are in at Orlando just looks as if it's crushed in.

The roster with the releases does look weak, and there is quite a lot of that roster they could easily cut.

I hope they get something sorted for the long-term future.

But even after all of TNA's mistakes, the problem remains, if TNA goes, who replaces them? NOBODY! Please don't say LU/NXT/ROH cause that's not what we're talking about here. We're not talking about indy wrestling. There's a place in a product with big stars that is not WWE. And only TNA provides that.

How is LU innocent in this? They are so incompetent as a promotion that they leave most of the wrestlers in the dark as far as contracts. Then they want a TV show to edit several element, costing them a ton of money.

Who would replace TNA? I don't know. But someone will. The replacement doesn't need to be immediate. TNA can be replaced.

When WCW and ECW died, there was not an immediate company to fill the #2 spot. TNA didn't even exist when WCW died.

As far as we know, Hernandez told TNA that he had a verbal agreement to end a written contract. Which is something any business person should recognize as a red flag. LU has a contract which says you cannot appear on another company's TV show. It's TNA's problem. Not LU's problem.
