This is precisely the reason why I advocated Fiji being aligned with Samoa. The way I see it is that for each event, each team should have a fighting chance to pick up a victory. Superfly Jimmy Snuka should have been an option for this team so they could have had a chance in the Ladder Match Event.
Team Samoa has a very good shot in at least three of these events.
The Rock has competed in an Iron Man match before, and his conditioning is out of this world. The Rock is also the most in shape out of these five, and considering that the best wrestler for each team is going to compete in the Iron Man Event, Team Samoa's going to need to send their best to begin with, and The Rock is that man. Every other member of this team would gas at the half hour mark if lucky. The Rock is the best choice for this event, and it could be where Team Samoa gets their gold.
Samoa Joe is nicknamed "The Samoan Submission Machine". Obviously, he's the best choice here for Team Samoa's success.... no question about it. Samoa Joe will most likely pick up a medal here for Team Samoa as well. The best option, by far, and it gives Team Samoa a very dangerous 1-2 punch.
Umaga was an incredible brawler. However, it bears mentioning that he wasn't that successful in matches that he should have been dominant in, which are brawls. Exhibit A: He lost in a Street Fight against Jeff Hardy at Extreme Rules 2008. Given that Team Samoa doesn't have a high flyer, when they could have an extremely good chance to win if Fiji was included, let's put Umaga in the Ladder Match. Umaga was very agile for a big man, and he could get by on sheer brutality. The fact that he was on the heavier side is highly overrated. Mark Henry, who is bigger than Umaga, has competed in a ladder match before. Umaga could very well use sheer brawn to win with here.
Now getting back to the event where it's Falls Count Anywhere, Afa should represent Team Samoa in that event. He pioneered the style of the wild brawling Pacific Islander, and his primitive nature could do some major damage for Team Samoa here.
Lastly, for Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal, I think it should be motioned that Peter Maivia step in for Rikishi. Quite frankly, Rikishi is too heavy and not that good, compared to Peter Maivia, who was quite an accomplished wrestler, and is more versatile than Rikishi ever could be. With Rikishi in this event, Team Samoa might as well throw in the towel. Rikishi's not good for any of these four events, and he surely wouldn't be good for whatever the wheel lands on. Peter Maivia is an alternate for a reason. Swap Rikishi out for him.
