We all know WWE is going to have a side of comedy for their shows and ppvs so instead of complaining about it why not throw out some ideas? This thread is for analyzing and suggesting comedy angles, gimmicks and bits that would actually produce a chuckle instead of an eye roll. Here's my idea.

The handicap. It would all start out with Stephanie running into Shane backstage when she begins bragging about the new free agent she just signed from Japan. She starts listing off all of his accolades when Shane interrupts her and says " that sounds great but what's his name? what does he look like"? She says she's never met him but it doesn't matter because she got a great deal from the japan promoter she signed him away from. Fast forward to next raw when Shane and Stephanie are both in the ring. She does this big introduction for her new wrestler.....and out comes a guy in a wheelchair!!! Shane can't hold his laughter but Stephanie is furious!!! Whats worst she has already signed this guy to a series of matches. Now this is when the gimmick really kicks in. Whenever the guy has a match he is always counted out because he can't get in the ring!!! Every match he has the ref starts the count while the dude rolls around outside fussing up a storm. This all leads to a match at Wrestlemania where a ramp is built to the ring that the guy can roll up on but get this. His wheel gets stuck in the ramp and he's counted out again. I think this gimmick would be similar to the eugene gimmick and garner a few laughs.

How the hell is that funny? That had to be the worst idea ever. Sounds like a worse version of Festus or Eugene to be honest. The fact that you want him to get counted out at every match...and at Wrestlemania??? Yeah, dumb idea.

Wow that is quite simply the worst idea I've ever heard of and I can't believe that you would insult disabled people that way. Of course someone in a wheelchair can't get in the ring and even if they could what would they do. It's a bad idea all round. Your attempt at comedy is a failure.

You have to find an alt or slip through a name change.

On topic. It is a bad idea because it is an idea and it is bad.

My comedy idea is to have one of the low card wrestler basically steal Cena's gimmick but make a joke out of it. Instead of dog tags wear boy scout patches on a necklace. Instead of Hustle, loyalty, and respect say speed, honesty, and speed. Wear really short denim shorts. I always thought Alex Riley would do well in this role but now they could just give it to Zack Ryder.

Anyway, it is too late to remember the rest.

So upon entering this thread, my eyes fell past the OP, meaning the first things I see is everyone flat-out crucifying the thread starter's idea. That's a laugh I needed tonight. But I agree with them, that idea is atrocious and would cause all sorts of hell if it actually aired. Not only is it not funny, it makes little sense (wheelchair-bound Vickie Guerrero can be helped into rings but not this guy?). There's also the problem with it being all sorts of offensive.

Of course, it's not fair to mock your less than stellar idea without presenting one of my own for scrutiny so here goes. For the last couple of months, I've had this weird and random idea for NXT's Elias Samson. If you're unfamiliar with him, his gimmick is a mysterious, guitar-playing drifter who often sings. He's kind of hated down there.

What if he began using his guitar as a weapon to assist others. It would start as a one-off thing where a superstar asks Elias to attack a rival with the promise of compensation. Elias performs the deed and is paid for his efforts. Turns out Elias likes that feeling and the wheels in his head start spinning.

He begins offering his services (hitting guys with guitars) to any paying customer. He'd essentially be a combination of Jeff Jarrett and the APA. Anyone, face or heel, who needs to issue an instrument-related hit on someone, Elias Sampson is their guy. This would primarily be a mid/lower card thing. Almost no main-eventers involved, unless he got mega over and even then it would be a rarity.

He'd start modest, hiding out in some dark corner of the arena playing a bad song and using a hat for collection when hired. Months down the road, he sets up a stupid little makeshift office with various guitars available to choose from at different prices. The only differences between these guitars are the colors, but somehow red is more expensive than black. Hits would be really goofy, as a match would take place only for Samson to randomly run out and clock a guy before revealing later who he was working for.

I truly have no idea where this idea came from, but it's been on my mind for ages and gives me a chuckle whenever I mull it over. If nothing else, it would add some dimension to Elias' character. It would also explain the dollar bills he keeps bound to his guitar strings. It's fucking silly, but sometimes "fucking silly" turns out to be "fucking awesome", especially in this day and age.

Dude this is sad. You don't do anything like that today. And even if it was acceptable - a match at Wrestle Mania for that? No thank you.

If you were part of "creative", and went in the room with this idea, I can guarantee you that you will be escorted from the building by Security as an ex employee. You would have the phones ringing off the hook in Titan Towers. The Shareholders would be going bonkers. Madison Avenue would be telling sponsors to pull ads. You would have protests at every arena. And, WWE would be crucified in the media for belittling the disabled.

    A real bad, bad idea.

Even in Attitude era that would pass. As others have said, now in PC era you would be escorted out of the building.

The comedy routines don't work. Yeah theyre funny for a a little bit but they get old really quick and wind up destroying the careers of who ever gets stuck with them.

I'm not one to jump down anyone's throat over an idea, but this is a perfect example of why WWE should not listen to 90%+ of internet fans when it comes to ideas. There is nothing remotely redeemable about this idea, it's not funny, it's insulting and would rank right along side the Katie Vick angle as one of the worst in the history of wrestling. Granted, I wouldn't get all bent out of shape because I know that it's all scripted and these are all just people performing a role. My problem would be just the sheer idiocy of the idea in general as it's just...lousy all around and the idiocy of Vince allowing it to even happen. I imagine there would be people from shareholders to fans so outraged that there'd be demands for Vince to step down as CEO. Of course, if he was dumb enough to actually let something like this on the air, he'd deserve such outrage.

In all honesty, I could see WWE doing this during the Attitude Era and it'd be one of a good number of examples of flat out garbage that made it onto TV during that period. Everyone always remembers the stuff with Austin & McMahon, Taker, Rock, etc. and that was great stuff, but this would fall right in with stuff like Katie Vick, Val Venis & Kai En Tai, Kane's feud with X-Pac after Kane's "girlfriend" accused X-Pac of raping her, Big Boss Man crashing the "funeral" of Big Show's dad, etc. that were among the lowest points in wrestling history.

That could work but it'd end in Cena burying whoever so hard they'd wish they'd never even heard the name John Cena, which isn't too bad if it's someone who really doesn't have the scope to ggo further than the midcard. But would Vince advocate his boy being ridiculed? He must have been squirming when The Rock and Punk were cutting promos on him

    Jesus Christ.

I mean yeah, Vince is definitely inconsiderate, senile, out of touch, and has made fun of these kinds of things before (Zach Gowen and Eugene), but not even he would have the nerve to come up with something as pathetic as this gimmick. I don't care who you are, that kind of gimmick will automatically kill your career and you'll never be taken seriously in the industry.

    Fuck this idea.

The idea suggested in the opening post is trash. So guess where the thread's going? Closed for being offensive and stupid.
