Getting Noticed By Management

The opening pyro goes off as the camera pans around the arena before focusing in on Cat Connor and Jack Cohen.

Connor: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to Ascension! Tonight we have some amazing matches as the other two quarter final matches in the Gold Rush Tournament take place as Constantine faces Chris Beckford and Showtime Cougar takes on the dangerous Phoenix.

Cohen: You're right for once CC, those two matches alone should be plenty for the admission of these idiot fans. This whole situation came about after everyone and their grandmothers came to make a claim for a title shot against Ty Burna.

Connor: And in the process Big Dave vacated the Eurasian title to be in the tournament, but was thwarted by Myles later in the evening.

Cohen: Chuck Myles is just afraid what would happen if Big Dave became World Champion, simple enough.

Connor: Be that as it may, also tonight we have the new WZCW World Tag Team Champions taking on Mark Hancock and Matt Fox.

Cohen: Also on Meltdown we saw Chris Jones defeat Baez to become the new Mayhem Champion, will the Crashin Movement have something to say about it?

Connor: I have no doubt, finally we have our esteemed Elite X Champion Austin Reynolds taking on William Wunderbar and Andy Simmons in a triple threat match.

Cohen: Simmons, ha! What a fool.

Connor: But up first we have one half of the former Tag Team Champions, Wasabi Toyota taking on the returning Mr. Baller!

Anderson: The following contest is scheduled for one fall!

"Mr. Baller" begins playing as Mr. Baller makes his way out to a number of boos from the crowd. He walks down the entrance ramp while spinning a basketball on his finger. He slides into the ring and tosses the ball out of the ring and tears off his warm up suit.

Anderson: Introducing first, from Miami, Florida. He stands 6'3" and weighs 220 lbs, Mr. Baller!

Cohen: Wasn't he supposed to be dead?

Connor: Apparently he made a miraculous recovery.

Cohen: You can't be serious. Who comes back from getting their head kicked off?

Wasabi Toyota walks out as his entrance theme begins playing to a good pop from the crowd. Hammond walks behind him and Toyota looks back at him for a moment as Hammond nods and claps before heading to the back. Toyota makes his way down the ramp smiling and waving to the fans before entering the ring and tearing off his jumpsuit.

Anderson: And his opponent, from Matsumoto, Japan. He stands 6' and weighs 550 lbs, Wasabi Toyota!

Connor: I feel for Wasabi. He lost not only his Tag Team title at Unscripted, but his best friend Hunter Kravinoff is now out for his career thanks to the Crashin Movement.

Cohen: He sure looks broken up about it CC. Toyota is nothing more than a gigantic crybaby. He lost his partner, so what?

The referee signals for the bell and Toyota goes to lock up with Baller. Baller quickly kicks at Toyota's knee and keeps at it, trying to chop the big man down. Toyota winces in pain before shoving Baller violently across the ring. Baller pulls himself up looking a bit shocked at Toyota's power. Baller rushes forward and goes for a dropkick and connects. Toyota takes a step back but stays on his feet and grabs Baller off the ground and connects with a headbutt, sending Baller reeling. Toyota follows up with a Savate Kick and lifts Baller up, dropping him on his back with a Samoan Drop. Toyota hooks the leg and gets a two count. Toyota lifts Baller up again and whips him into the ropes. He goes for a clothesline but Baller ducks and springboards off and connects with a back elbow, knocking Toyota backwards. Baller rushes forward and connects with a neckbreaker, taking Toyota down. Baller hooks a leg and gets a 1 count as Toyota powers out of it.

Connor: Baller seems to be having some difficulty on his return match taking the big man down.

Cohen: He should just mention Kravinoff's gone and Toyota would crumble into a heap and Baller would get the easy win.

Baller doesn't waste a moment and connects with a standing moonsault, then gets to his feet and stomps away at Toyota's knee. Baller stands above Toyota and poses as the crowd boos him loudly. Baller walks over to the turnbuckle and hops up to the top rope and comes flying off with a leg drop, landing across the chest of Toyota. Baller hooks the leg but gets only a 2 count. Toyota slowly begins struggling to his feet as Baller hits a few forearm shots across the neck and back of Toyota. Baller then bounces off the ropes and connects with a dropkick to Toyota's head, forcing him to drop down to the ground. Baller motions to the turnbuckle again and readies himself. He jumps up and bounces off the ropes and goes for the Buzzer Beater! Toyota moves out of the way at the last second and Baller crashes and burns.

Connor: That's the risk you take when going up top like that.

Cohen: You would know about being on top wouldn't you CC?

Connor: What's that supposed to mean Jack?

Cohen: I think you know exactly what that means.

Toyota makes it to his feet and picks up Baller and whips him into the ropes. He catches him off the rebound and lifts him up for a side slam, dropping down hard into the mat. Toyota hooks a leg and gets a two count. He pulls Baller up and throw him into the corner. Toyota backs up and then rushes towards Baller and goes for a splash but Baller moves out of the way and hooks an arm around Toyota's head and drops down with a DDT. Baller gets up and taunts the crowd, eliciting boos from them as he walks over to the corner again setting up for the Buzzerbeater. He takes his time and continues taunting. Right before jumping up to the top rope, Toyota gets up and rakes Baller's back before turning him around and hitting a belly to back suplex. Toyota drags Baller to the corner and climbs to the second turnbuckle. He comes off and connects hard with the Banzai Drop!. He sits on Baller who is knocked out for the three count.

Anderson: Here is your winner, Wasabi Toyota!

Connor: Impressive victory for Toyota tonight Jack. It seems he's gained new energy from the new pairing alongside Hammond.

Cohen: Baller had the match in hand, he just made the same mistakes he usually does. I would have thought they cleaned his head out before reattaching it to his body.

Connor: Well in any case, Toyota must be feeling good about his victory tonight and now can look to focus on the Crashin Movement who has caused him much grief the past few weeks.

Cohen: I wouldn't want to be Hammond, any partner of Toyota seems to be targeted by the Crashin Movement as we saw last night on Meltdown.

Toyota gets up and his arm is raised by the referee. He waves to the fans and exits the ring. Hammond walks out and both celebrate at the top of the ramp before exiting to the back, as Baller slowly comes to in the ring.

Connor: Don't go anywhere, we have the other two first round matchups in the number one contender's tournament for the WZCW World Title.

-----------------------------------
We cut backstage to Vance Bateman who's with Leon Kensworth

Kensworth: Ladies and Gentleman, with me is the General Manager of Ascension, Vance Bateman. Now given we've see Everest and Gordito progress last night on Meltdown, what expectations do you have for the other two matches this evening?

Bateman: Well Leon, I can only hope they provide some matches that topped what happened last week and keep the Ascension Brand proud, that's my hopeful goal here.

Kensworth: Even if any of the competitors don't progress further to get closer to the World Heavyweight Championship, will you be looking to see for any potential challengers for the Elite X Championship?

Bateman: While the Gold Rush Tournament is exclusively tied to finding out who the Number One Contender is, I will be keeping my eye on the whole roster to see who is deserving to face Austin Reynolds. Who knows, maybe Wilhelm Wunderbar or Andy Simmons may impress us?

Kensworth: And finally, now I know you're not the General Manager of Meltdown, but do you have any updates in regard to the vacant EurAsian Championship left by Big Dave last night?

Bateman: Pretty much answered your own question there. All I know is that Chuck Myles didn't sleep well last night due to that situation, while he put a stopper on Big Dave's plans, he's now got a bigger problem finding out what to do with the EurAsian Championship. Naturally he's going to be checking out the competition, but hopefully I'll get my Elite X Challenger sorted before Myles has even considered someone for the EurAsian Championship. That is why my brand will always be the superior!

Kensworth: Ok then, thank you Mr. Bateman, I won't keep you now. Well Cat and Jack, you heard the latest from Vance Bateman, back to you!

Anderson: The following tag team match is scheduled for one fall!

“Rooster” hits and Mark Hancock comes out from behind the curtain and heads toward the ring.

Anderson: Introducing first, from Chicago, Illinois and weighing in at 205 pounds, Mark Hancock!

He enters the ring as “Voices” plays and Matthew Fox appears on the stage.

Anderson: And his partner, from Oakland, California and weighing in at 353 pounds, Matthew Fox!

Fox climbs into the ring and immediately confronts Hancock. Both man speak very animatedly toward each other as “Reckless Youth” hits and the new tag champs come out from backstage.

Anderson: Their opponents, at a combined weight of 434 pounds, the new WZCW World Tag Team Champions, Reckless Youth!

They meet at the back side of the ring and slide under the bottom rope before climbing opposite turnbuckle. Reckless Youth unhook their belts and pose with them to the cheers of the crowd. They get down and hand the belts to the referee as both teams decide who will start.

Matthew Fox will start for his team against Alexander Steele for the champs. They circle each other for a moment, before Fox goes for a tie up. Steele ducks it, however, and goes behind the giant. He clubs him with a forearm to the back and tries to take Fox over with a German suplex, but is unable to get the momentum to take him over. Fox strikes Steele with an elbow to the face and drops him hard with a sidewalk slam. Fox locks in a chinlock, and quickly switches it to a bow-and-arrow submission. Steele is able to get his feet back under him, and get back to his feet. Fox, still having control of Steele’s arms, kicks his opponent in the gut and turns Steele inside out with a short-arm clothesline. Fox goes for a cover, 1…2. and a kick-out by Steele. Fox goes straight back to the chinlock, trying to prevent Steele from getting more air into his body. Steele gets back to his feet once again, drives a few elbows into the stomach of Matthew Fox and runs the ropes to build momentum for his next attack. Steele gets to Fox, but Fox is able to counter by lifting Steele high into the air and dumping him with a gorilla press slam. Fox looks over at his partner, and after a brief moment of discussion, Mark Hancock is tagged into the match. Hancock immediately runs over to the still downed Steele, and assumes the mount position and begins laying into him with lefts and rights. The referee finally inserts himself to stop the closed-fisted assault. Hancock goes for a pin, 1…2.. kick-out by Steele. Hancock drops a knee on Steele, the climbs to the top turnbuckle. He takes a moment or two to pose, before leaping off the top for a elbow drop that Steele rolls out of the way of. Steele crawls over to his corner and tags in Tucker Graham just as Fox gets tagged in by Hancock.

Cohen: No wonder Fox drilled that idiot with a chair at the PPV. Fox had his team in control and Hancock went and screwed it all up.

Connor: The new champions are not having an easy time tonight at all. Can Tucker Graham change that?

Graham bursts into the ring like a house of fire. He runs at Fox and connects with a leg lariat. He gets up and continues running and catches Fox with a running neckbreaker as Fox tries to get back to his feet. Fox stumbles into a neutral corner, trying to recover. Graham lets out a scream and charges at and hits Fox with double knees in the corner. Fox goes down and Graham goes for the springboard senton back splash, but Fox is able to get his knees up. Graham writhes in pain as Fox gets up screaming, “No, no, no!” He picks up Tucker Graham and drops him with the F-Bomb. A cover, 1…2… Graham kicks out. Fox grabs Graham’s legs, looking for the Fox Lock, Graham is able to fight his way out, however. Fox picks up Graham, possibly going for another F-Bomb, but Graham reverses it into a hurricanrana. Fox is sent across the ring as Graham goes and tags in Alexander Steele. They wait for Fox to get back to his feet and Graham connects with a shuffle side kick, giving Steele the momentum to connect with the German suplex he failed at earlier. Steele holds the bridge, 1…2.. and Fox escapes. Steele picks him up and scores with an overhead belly-to-belly. Fox is back to his feet quickly and takes out Steele with a clothesline. He stands near his corner and signals for the end, when Mark Hancock tags himself in. He runs at Steele who connects with a knee to Hancock’s gut and follows up with a pumphandle Death Valley driver. Steele points at Graham, getting a pop from the crowd, and tags in his partner. Steele takes Hancock up in an electric chair, and Graham completes the Twisted Metal. Graham with the cover, 1…2…3!

Anderson: The winners of this match, the WZCW World Tag Team Champions, Reckless Youth!

The champs get their belts and pose on the turnbuckles and Hancock starts to stir as Matthew Fox re-enters the ring, chair in hand. Graham comes down from the turnbuckle and is greeted with a chair to the skull. Steele tries to fight off Fox, but he too eats steel. Finally, he sees Mark Hancock, still trying to get back to his feet. Fox yells at him for a moment before hitting him with the most vicious chair shot of the three. The medical team attends to the three downed men as Fox walks out toward the back.

---------------------------------
We cut backstage to the new Mayhem Champion Chris Jones who's talking to a couple of random backstage crew outside a locker room door.

Jones: Guys, see this...what's the problem here?

The two guys stare at each other and shrug unknowingly

Jones: Where's my name in gold writing? I am the Mayhem Champion and I deserve to be treated like a champion. So you get your little toolbox and start hammering in my name so people know they're dealing with the best in the Mayhem division today!

They walk off as the Crashin Movement appear and they stand tall in front of Jones.

Holmes: You think that being the Champion of the Mayhem Division is enough to get star treatment?

Jones: Now come on guys, you had your business with Baez, I am a whole other story!

Crashin: Nothing's changed, just a newer, easier, target to go after in order to bring the Mayhem Division back to the class it needs to be.

Kurtesy: Taking over from Baez might have been the biggest mistake you've made. Just let it be known you're a marked man, we'll be coming soon!

Holmes: Enjoy holding onto the belt there Jones. You know, it could have been a whole different picture, just a shame that your career will end with the Mayhem Division!

They all walk off with a slight bit of laughter amongst themselves as Jones nervously reaches for the door handle, only for the door to suddenly open and out steps Baez who looks at him, looks again and then says "Thanks" before walking off as Jones looks on with an annoyed yet cautious look.

Anderson: The following contest is a Triple Threat Match scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, from Atlanta, Georgia, weighing in at 175 lbs, Andy Simmions!

Simmons posses as the crowd boos.

Anderson: And his opponent, from Berlin, Germany, weighing in at 125 kilograms, Wilhelm Wunderbar!

Wunderbar salutes the crowd with the German Salute. The crowd loudly showers him with boo’s.

Connor: Both opponents in the ring awaiting the arrival of Elite X champion Austin Reynolds, should be an exciting match.

Cohen: Yea, a man who thinks he draws in ratings, a German Nationalist, and some underdog, sounds very exciting.

Headstrong by Trapt plays and the crowd is up on their feet as Reynolds emerges from the gold and silver starts bursting in the air from the entrance ramp. He has the Elite X title in both hands and raises it over his head for the crowd to see before draping it on his shoulder and walking down to the ring.

Anderson: And their opponents, from the West Side of London England, weighing in at 190 lbs, he is the Elite X Champion, Austin Reynolds.

Reynolds walks up the stairs and stands along the apron. He posses out towards the fans before dropping his belt inside the ring. Reynolds turns quickly and leaps onto the ropes. Wunderbar pushes Simmons alone to centre. Reynolds connects with the Ego Crush. The ref stands still for a moment before realizing what's happening and goes to make the count. 1... 2... Wunderbar charges in and boots Reynolds off Simmons. Wunderbar picks up Simmons. He hits an Underhook Fisherman’s Suplex, the Kaizeplex, into a pin. 1... 2... Reynolds breaks it up with a Rolling Senton. Simmons rolls under the ropes to the edge of the apron. Reynolds punches Wunderbar as he starts to stand. Wunderbar punches back as he starts to gain balance. Reynolds ducks one punch and hits a Roaring Elbow. Wunderbar stumbles on his feet. Reynolds turns and bounces off the ropes and charges with a Flying Shoulder. Wunderbar stumbles back against the ropes, but still stays on his feet. Reynolds with an Irish Whip, Wunderbar reverses. Reynolds jumps onto the second rope and flys backwards with a Rebound Back Elbow. Wunderbar catches him in mid air and goes for a Release German Suplex. He flips Reynolds over him. Reynolds manages to land on his feet behind Wunderbar. He runs up and pushes him from behind. Simmons is standing behind the ropes and Wunderbar runs straight into him, causing him to fly off the apron crash onto the floor. Wunderbar turns around. Reynolds is already waiting and hits a big Leg Lariat, sending Wunderbar over the ropes and to the floor. The crowd breaks out into "Austin Reynolds" chants. Reynolds has his hands on the ropes as he waits for his opponents to stand. They do and Reynolds leaps over the ropes. Reynolds turns in mid air and lands on the ring apron. He jumps onto the second rope and performs an Asai Moonsault, taking out both Wunderbar and Simmons.

Connor: Austin has done little wrong in this match as neither of his opponents can seem to build any momentum.

Cohen: Well I’m not surprised about that twig Simmons, but I don’t think we’ve seen the full potential of the German "Das Kaizer".

Reynolds lifts Simmons to his feet and slides him into the ring. Reynolds slides in after him. Wunderbar grabs the foot of Reynolds and pulls him back outside the ring. Wunderbar has Reynolds foot and pulls him into a stiff Roundhouse Kick. Reynolds crumples face down to the floor. Wunderbar sits on top of Reynolds and locks his arm in an Arm Bar, using his foot on the shoulder to apply more pressure. The ref can be heard counting them out and gets up to 5 before Wunderbar lets go. Wunderbar stands over Reynolds and stomps directly on the shoulder and arm of Reynolds. Ref gets to 8 and Wunderbar slides in and out of the ring to break the count. He walks over to Reynolds and stands beside him. He lifts his elbow high in the air and then drops in right on the humerus bone of Reynolds arm. He grabs Reynolds by the same arm and helps him to his feet. He drapes the arm over his shoulder and then lifts it up and down hard across the shoulder. Wunderbar then flips Reynolds over his shoulder and lands him on top of the steel stairs. Reynolds immediately holds his arm as Wunderbar slides into the ring to get Simmons.

Cohen: That Wunderbar is a genius. He has separated his two opponents and now that Austin is taken care of he can finish off that insignificant Simmons.

Wunderbar waits for Simmons to stand. Simmons does and Wunderbar hooks both his arms. Eagle Suplex connects. Wunderbar hangs onto one arm and twists it around. He drops his legs on top of Simmons and has a Keylock submission locked in, the Kaizerlock. Simmons screams and looks to tap out at any second. From out of no where, Reynolds comes flying in with a Diving Headbutt, breaking the hold. All three men are laid out inside the ring. Wunderbar is the first to get to his feet. He grabs Reynolds and pulls him onto his feet. Reynolds breaks free and punches Wunderbar with his one good arm. He gets enough separation and hits a Dropsault, taking Wunderbar down. Reynolds stands and Wunderbar is quickly back to his feet. Reynolds goes for a Discus Lariat. Wunderbar catches the arm, turns and with a burst of energy, throws Reynolds into the corner. Wunderbar stomps away a few times at Reynolds before backing to centre. He charges at Reynolds. Reynolds moves just out of the way and Wunderbar eats the corner. Wunderbar slowly turns around and Reynolds charges at him. Reynolds leaps into Wunderbar and executes a Monkey Flip. Wunderbar's 275 pound frame flys through the air and crashes into Simmons who just got back onto his feet. Wunderbar crawls towards the ropes and pulls himself up. Reynolds runs towards him and hits Millions and Millions. Wunderbar falls through the ropes and down the floor. Reynolds turns to Simmons and kicks him in the gut. Reynolds stands and sets him up for the Ratings Killer. He connects with it. The ref goes to make the count. 1... 2... 3.

Anderson: Here is your winner, Austin Reynolds!

Connor: Austin with an impressive victory here tonight. Jack I don’t think there is anybody who can stop Reynolds at the moment.

Cohen: Well certainly these clowns don’t stand a chance.

Connor: I thought you were a fan of Wunderbar.

Cohen: I think you must’ve miss heard my love for that particular candy bar. Not these guys.

Wunderbar walks up the ramp, angrily looking at Reynolds as he celebrates inside he ring. Reynolds posses in a all directions with the Elite X title belt before exiting the ring. He makes his way up the ramp when Falling On hits and Vance Bateman walks onto the ramp.

Bateman: Very convincing victory here tonight Austin. I’ll speak with you in private in a few minutes.

Reynolds nods and continues to make his way to the back.

Bateman: Now lets see, did we really give you a contract Mr Simmons? The Underdog? There didn’t seem to be any dog in you in this fight. That was one of the worst performances I’ve seen in my time and I want you out of my ring immediately, you are FIRED!

Security personal walks down to the ring and escort Simmons from the ring. Simmons seems to be in tears as they take him to the back.

Anderson: The following contest, scheduled for one fall, is a quarter-final match of the Gold Rush Tournament to determine the next Number One Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship at All or Nothing!

“Hero” starts playing throughout the arena the crowd starts to boo heavily as Constantine makes his way out onto the ramp, his head dipped and chin touching his chest. The tempo kicks up and he raises his head and arms before he heads down the ramp.

Anderson: Introducing first, from St. Louis, Missouri, weighing in at 265 pounds…

Constantine is jumped by Chris Beckford from behind who knocks him out of his stride much to the crowd’s enjoyment. He grabs him by the head to drag him into the ring as the bell sounds with him jumping onto the apron and then leaping over the top rope with a hilo type move, he goes for the quick cover 1……2.. kickout by Constantine.

Cohen: Surely Beckford must be disqualified for this?!

Connor: Doesn’t matter now, the match is under way.

Beckford ascends the turnbuckle but Constantine rolls out of the ring, shrugging off the match before taking a couple of paces to then look in his opponent’s direction and is with a cross body by the man from Leeds. Beckford is up to his feet and raises his hand to the crowd which gets them all in a cheer. He heads back over to Constantine who’s on knee, as he gets knee, the former politician catches him with a slow flapjack face first into the ring post which stops the momentum Beckford has. Constantine is now up and rolls Beckford into the ring now that he’s slowed the pace down. He mounts Beckford hits a quick right, followed by a second and a third and keeps continuing to hit the rights until the referee counts up to four and gets in his face to dispute the matter before giving a quick stomp to Beckford who’s still down on the mat.

Constantine picks up Beckford and lifts him to one side, dropping him with a sidewalk slam, followed by an immediate cover 1…….2…kickout. Constantine gets Beckford up again but this time, he takes him to the corner, he takes a few paces back before turning and running at Beckford with a clothesline, yet he’s still standing tall, so Constantine paces back again and runs at him a second only to be met with a boot to the face, Beckford gets himself out of the corner and uses the ropes to springboard himself with a dropkick on Constantine’s chest, putting him on the canvas. He’s standing behind Constantine as he gets back up and grabs him to drop a faceplant on him. He walks over to go through the ropes to stand on the ring edge, looking to do another high offence move, but Constantine suddenly rushes onto his feet and then shoves him from behind off of the ring edge, straight into the front of the announce table. Constantine follows suit and gives a couple of kicks to Beckford while he is in this predicament.

Cohen: Constantine’s keeping the match at his pace and not letting Beckford have any offence here, keep at it!

Connor: Beckford’s had a good amount of offence too, just that Constantine knows how to use certain methods to swing the momentum back into his favour.

As Beckford is down, Constantine starts to take apart the announce table, removing the counter as well as the monitors but not using them due to the disqualification ruling. He gets Beckford up in a dazed position, but puts himself between Beckford and the announce table, he looks ready to hit some Collateral Damage on Beckford as he lifts him up but Beckford carries the momentum to hit a tornado DDT onto the floor to knock Constantine back as Beckford slides back in and out of the ring to stop the referee from counting them both out. He gets Constantine up who elbows him in the abs and then slams his head against the ring edge before rolling him back into the ring, following right after him. He gets Beckford up and drops him with a vertical suplex and goes for the cover, 1…….2…...kickout. Constantine looks a bit annoyed but keeps a determined look to continue the offence. He signals the end to the crowd as he gets Beckford up onto his feet and pushes him up against the ropes, Irish whipping him to the other side and looks to catch him with an Axis of Evil, but Beckford slides through his legs and kicks Constantine in the gut as he faces him and drops him with a Cross Drop, knocking both men out.

The referee starts a countout on both men but Beckford crawls slowly over and weakly gets the arm over Constantine, 1…….2…..kickout by Constantine which has Beckford hold his hand in disbelief. He staggers himself up which Constantine is struggling and uses the time to climb the turnbuckle, no doubt he’s preparing for the Cross County. But as he gets up, so does Constantine who runs straight at him and shoves him off the turnbuckle to knock his head against the nearby barricade. Constantine follows out after and gives Beckford another kick before rolling him onto his feet again and dragging him around to near the announce table once again, slamming his head against it. Constantine signals that Beckford is going down for certain.

Connor: Can Constantine get it done the second time?

Cohen: While I’d admire the man, we still need to work here!

Constantine stands behind Beckford, looking for the Collateral Damage again, he takes a moment to look around the crowd but then Beckford starts waking up and wriggling before hitting some elbows on Constantine’s head, he breaks free from his grip and then hits a dropkick which makes Constantine fall flat on top of the announce table. Beckford climbs inside the ring and turns to look at his opponent laying there, he then looks at the opposite ropes, runs at them, bounces off and heads back towards the announce table, he then leaps onto the top rope and leaps in the air with Cross County off of the top rope, landing right on top of Constantine, destroying the announce table in progress, the fans are their feet and chanting “Holy sh*t!” as both men are out in the wreckage with Connor and Cohen standing at an arms length from what just occurred.

Cohen: That crazy sonofa…

Connor: I can’t believe what we just witnessed, Chris Beckford just Cross Countied Constantine from the ring right onto our announce table!

The referee starts counting as both men are knocked out, Cohen checks over to see if any of them are injury or bleeding but can’t find anything. The referee has reached six as Cohen tells him to stop the match surely, but the referee ignores him. He reaches eight and there’s barely a stir out of Constantine while Beckford manages to weakly raise his head, the referee counts nine, but nothing further and as he hits ten, Beckford drops his head back and the bell is signalled. The referee heads over to Anderson to tell her the result.

Anderson: Ladies and Gentleman, as a result of a double countout, this match is a draw!

The crowd boos heavily as Vance Bateman then appears on the titantron.

Bateman: Well congratulations to the both of you for destroying yourselves, the equipment, the set and also the foundation of the tournament. I’m not sure if you can hear me right now and I should have every right to remove you both, however, I have decided that you both will progress in this tournament. What that means is that your next match, which will take place next week, will be a triple threat match with the assigned opponent, being either Everest or Gordito, you’ll find out who in the next few says. Now I suggest the EMTs get out there and give them some treatment please!

The EMTs head out with two stretchers as they check on both Constantine and Beckford, putting neck supports on both of them before moving them safely onto the stretchers and taking them out.

Connor: That was quite an explosive match there Jack, I never thought I’d see it end this way. Hopefully they will both be able to compete next week in the triple threat, otherwise either Everest or Gordito will progress automatically.

Cohen: This is the WZCW CC, of course they’ll compete, you know that Constantine will get closer to the gold, that’s for certain!

Connor: Well we better get on with the show as our Main Event which is the last First Round/Quarter Final Match of this Gold Rush Tournament is up next with Phoenix taking on Showtime Cougar!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We cut backstage to Showtime Cougar walking through the locker room area towards the entrance. As he's walking he bumps into Ty Burna walking around himself, the WZCW World Title on his shoulder.

Ty: My apologies Showtime, I did not see you there.

Showtime: I don't want to hear it Ty, you were hoping to trip and injure me just now weren't you?

Ty: Pray tell David, what are you going on about? I was just conversing with Everest and congratulating him on his victory over Steven Kurtesy on Meltdown and did not see you there.

Showtime: How convenient. So where is Everest then?

Just then Everest walks by and nods to Ty and Ty nods back as Showtime looks on.

Showtime: Coincidental, look Ty is there something you have to say to me or should I just toss you into the garbage where you should be?

Ty: Well I was going to wish you good luck with your match against Phoenix, but since you continue to be nothing but hostile towards me, I will just say don't get yourself killed out there and focus out there. Phoenix's high flying can keep you off balance.

Showtime: I know how to be victorious Ty, and tonight will be no exception. Keep that belt shined up for me because I'll be taking it at All Or Nothing. Now get out of my way.

Ty takes one step back and raises his arm gesturing Showtime to move along and Showtime stares Ty down as he walks by before walking quickly to the entrance. Ty looks on and shakes his head.

Ty: I wonder what's gotten into him? Envy is the bane and fall of many great men, perhaps this is Showtime's fall from grace?

Ty shrugs and begins walking again, the camera cutting off.

Anderson: The following is a first round match up in the Gold Rush Tournament, scheduled for one fall!

Showtime Cougar makes his way out to a huge pop from the crowd. He makes his way down the entrance ramp as pyro shoots off behind him. He slides into the ring and climbs to the second turnbuckle and poses for the crowd as they pop again for him.

Anderson: Introducing first, from Winnipeg. He stands 6'1" and weighs 213 lbs, Showtime Cougar!

Phoenix makes his way out as his entrance music hits the PA system, the crowd booing him loudly as he walks down the entrance ramp. The lights flicker back and forth as he enters the ring and hops up to the second turnbuckle, staring out at the booing crowd.

Anderson: And his opponent, from The Great Beyond. He stands 6'2" and weighs 213 lbs, Phoenix!

Connor: Showtime came up short at Unscripted in that devilish Hell in a Cell match, while Phoenix beat Blade in a brutal First Blood match. Both men must still feel the effects of their respective matches Cohen, who do you see winning tonight?

Cohen: Phoenix has shown a different edge as of late, taking every possible opportunity to hurt Blade at Unscripted. I don't see anything different here and Showtime has gotten soft since he's pandered to the crowd.

The ref signals for the bell and the two men circle each other in the center of the ring. Phoenix goes for a quick drop kick but Show moves out of the way and quickly applies an arm wrench on the rising Phoenix. He keeps him in control and backs Phoenix into the ropes, whipping him across and connects with a spinning clothesline. Phoenix bounces off the mat but gets up rather quickly and connects with a dropkick on Showtime. Both men are up and start exchanging rights, Showtime gets the advantage to the delight of the crowd and lifts Phoenix up and drops him down with a body slam. Show bounces off the ropes and goes for a leg drop, missing by mere inches and Phoenix takes advantage, hitting a step up enziguri. Phoenix bounces off the ropes after and drops down with a senton across the midsection. He goes for a cover and gets barely a two count.

Connor: Just as we expected, a very fast pace match Cohen. Phoenix is using his speed advantage but Showtime is quite agile himself.

Cohen: It's going to be whoever crashes first CC. My money is on Phoenix missing and Showtime locking on the submission.

Phoenix gets up and drags Showtime with him. He whips him into the corner and rushes forward going for a Koppu kick, but Showtime moves out of the way and Phoenix gets caught in the ropes. Showtime stomps away at him before backing up and going coast to coast with a dropkick! Phoenix crumbles to the ground and rolls to the outside to recover. Showtime poses in the ring and the crowd pops for him. Showtime bounces off the ropes and goes flying over the top rope and connects with a plancha on Phoenix. Both men are sprawled out on the floor as the ref begins the ten count.

Connor: And Showtime showing off his own high flying ability!

Cohen: That's being stupid. Let the ref count out Phoenix instead he decides to play right into Phoenix's game.

Showtime is to his feet first and he grabs a hold of Phoenix and rams his head into the safety rail multiple times. He goes to whip Phoenix into the steel steps but Phoenix reverses and sends Showtime shoulder first into the steps. Showtime collapses to the ground grasping his shoulder in pain and the ref's count is up to six when Phoenix rolls in and out to break the count. He walks over to Showtime and kicks away at his shoulder before lifting him up and backing up hard into the safety rail. Phoenix jumps up to the apron and steadies himself before launching towards Showtime. Showtime ducks and Phoenix flies over the rail into the crowd! Showtime falls to one knee to collect himself before standing up and reaching over the rail and grabs Phoenix, tossing him back over to the ringside area. Showtime rolls Phoenix into the ring and slides in himself at the count of eight from the ref. Showtime covers Phoenix, but only gets a two count.

Connor: I'm shocked Phoenix was able to kick out of that. He flew right over the rail into the crowd!

Cohen: This shows how important this match is. The winner is one step closer to a World Title opportunity.

Showtime gets up with a shocked look on his face and slams his fist on the mat in frustration. He pulls Phoenix up and sets him up for a Side Effect. Phoenix tries to elbow his way out of it, but Showtime holds on and drops him down. Showtime sits for a moment before going to Phoenix's legs and locks him in. He works on turning him over as Phoenix fights it, but Showtime finally locks in The Commercial Break! Phoenix struggles to reach the ropes as Showtime sits down to deepen the hold. Phoenix uses everything he can and finally reaches out to grasp the ropes. Showtime is forced to break the hold and he walks away from Phoenix, still with a frustrated look on his face. Phoenix slowly pulls himself up on the apron. Showtime turns and notices and rushes forward going for a spear through the ropes. Phoenix is able to springboard to the top rope and goes for a sunset flip! He nearly gets a three count but Showtime kicks out in time! Phoenix and Showtime both get up at the same time. Show goes for a clothesline but Phoenix ducks and connects with a release German Suplex, tossing Showtime across the ring. Phoenix gets up and motions for the top rope and climbs up, setting up for the Final Flight! He jumps off and rotates in the air, but Showtime moves at the last second and Phoenix hits hard on the mat.

Cohen: Look at these two men just killing themselves tonight. I don't think they'll have anything left even if they do win for their next opponent in the tournament.

Connor: But you have to Jack. This is such a huge chance for both of these men, they have to give it their all.

The ref starts the double count. At six Showtime begins to stir and pull himself up. Phoenix follows as well and both men are to their feet. Phoenix rushes forward and hits a spinning heel kick, knocking Show to the ground. Phoenix rests in the corner for a moment before looking at the booing crowd. He begins climbing the top turnbuckle slowly, but Showtime gets up and hits him from behind. Showtime climbs up and sets Phoenix up for the Final Act as the crowd begins buzzing. Showtime grabs hold of Phoenix but Phoenix hits a few elbows. Show is able to jump off the top rope with Phoenix but doesn't have the grip and is forced to let go. Phoenix lands on his feet and Show hits the mat hard. Phoenix stumbles back but as Showtime starts to get up, Phoenix hits Rebirth out of nowhere! He covers Showtime, 1...2.....3!

Anderson: Here is your winner, Phoenix!

Connor: What a finish! I thought Show had the Final Act there. It looks like he lost grip and couldn't get Phoenix rotated over for the landing.

Cohen: Phoenix showed just why no one should take him lightly. Meanwhile Showtime goes from being in the World Title match, to out in the first round of a tournament. It's no question his reliance on the fans is his weakness.

Phoenix gets up and the referee raises his hand in victory. Showtime rolls out of the ring and looks frustrated. He walks over and kicks over the steel steps and then grabs a chair from the ringside area. He slides into the ring and slams the chair hard into Phoenix's back. The crowd starts to boo as Showtime throws the chair out of the ring. Phoenix slowly crawls to the outside as Showtime continues to go ballistic in the ring. The ref tries to talk Showtime down but Show suddenly kicks the ref in the stomach and hits a reverse overdrive on the ref. The crowd continues booing as Showtime gets up and continues throwing a fit in the ring.

Cohen: It appears Showtime has had enough!

Connor: That doesn't change the fact that Phoenix is moving on in this tournament and not Showtime. I'm not sure what Showtime's problem is but I have no doubt we'll found next week. We're out of time for Jack Cohen, I'm Cat Connor, good night!
