Your Wrestlemania revamp

The Idiot

Getting Noticed By Management
The idea of this thread is to pick one Wrestlemania you would want to restore or revamp. A Wrestlemania you think could have been alot better with the talent they had at the time. What matches you would have done differently, and the outcomes you would have rather seen. There are probably several Wrestlemanias ...but choose one and give it a face lift. It has to be realistic....saying you would rather have Sting/Undertaker in last years WM doesn't work because Sting wasn't with the promotion.

I'll give you guys the first go-round and will chime in later with mine.

All right this is an interesting idea I personally would have reworked very little in most of the WRESTLEMANIAs however I do agree with THE POPE JUICELEE on the fact that the 1992 WRESTLEMANIA AKA WRESTLEMANIA VIII
I would have booked it as follows:
singles match
Tatanka vs Martel
triple threat match
shawn michaels vs owen hart vs davey boy smith winner get I.C. title shot
I.C. title match
Bret vs Roddy leave alone good match
singles match
UNDERTAKER vs Jake The Snake Roberts
Elimination Tag Match
Bossman, Virgil, Slaughter, Duggan, Bushwackers vs Nasty Boys, Repo Man, Mountie and Berserker
Triple threat tag title match
Natural Disasters vs Money Inc vs Legion of Doom
Fatal four Way Elimination match for the WWF Championship
Hogan vs Sid vs Savage vs Flair

I would revamp WM 18.

The two matches I would want to see changed and done differently are:

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Hollywood Hulk Hogan-They really should have done this match first. I was happy with Rock vs. Hogan but I feel it would have been better to go with Austin vs. Hogan. These two were THE two biggest faces to step into the WWE ever and this was the most antipated match. It should have happened at WM18. One of those moments Vince needed to put his foot down and say this is what's going to happen.(Hogan and Austin couldn't agree on a finish; if you were wondering what I was talking about).
The Rock vs. Scott Hall-Nothing really but a filler/grudge match. I'm sure they could have built a good story around these two facing each other. This would have given the Rock something to do until he could face Hogan.

Match I would add are:

The Big Show vs. Kevin Nash-Big Show could have said that he knew what the nWo was and that their poison. He could have said he knew nWo better than anybody else in the WWE and he is the antidote for them. I think it would have been good.

Intercontinental Match.Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Perfect Curt Henning-Dream Match. I don't know. This would have been a good time to put these guys in the ring together.

Match I would keep the same:

World Heaveyweight Championship Match: Triple H vs. Chris Jericho World Heaveyweight Championship.

The Undertaker vs. Ric Flair-The streak on the line.

So Ultimately my WM18 card would look like this:
Hollywood Hulk Hogan vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin
The Rock vs. Scott Hall
The Big Show vs. Kevin Nash
The Streak On The Line: The Undertaker vs. Ric Flair
World Heavyweight Championship Match-Triple H vs. Chris Jericho
Intercontinental Championship Match:Kurt Angle vs. "Mr. Perfect," Curt Henning

Wrestlemania 2000 was a mess ... If I were to revamp that PPV it would probably look like this

Iron Man Match: WWF Championship
The Rock vs. Triple H
Special Guest Referee: Shawn Michaels
- Since they did that in Judgment Day anyway and the feud can play what happend on the first airing of Smackdown!

Intercontinental Championship
Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit
- Since they could already pencil in a great feud with this

European Championship
Kurt Angle vs. Tazz
- Rematch from The Royal Rumble squash but this time with Angle winning

Triangle Ladder Match: WWF Tag Tean Championship
The Hardy Boyz vs. Edge and Christian vs. The Dudley Boyz
- Keep

Battle of the Giants
The Big Show vs. Kane
- Because X-Pac and Kane was already done to death at that point

Tag Team Turmoil
X-Pac and Road Dogg vs. Eddie Guerrero and Perry Saturn vs. Too Cool vs. APA vs. D-Lo Brown and The Godfather vs. T&A vs. Al Snow and Steve Blackman

Light Heavyweight Championship
Dean Malenko vs. Chyna
- Because LOL!

Triple Threat Match: Hardcore Championship
Rikishi vs. Hardcore Holly vs. Crash Holly
- A squash match that makes Rikishi dominant

Of course the challenge here is having 8 matches despite a 60 Min Iron Match on the card. But I can probably see 3 of the matches here go for less than 5 mins.

I have a few ideas but I’ll start with only one. I’ll pick WrestleMania 13. I won’t include Shawn Michaels since he lost his smile around this time. I would have loved it if Marc Mero could have challenged Rocky Maivia for the IC title instead of The Sultan. Unfortunately Mero was injured shortly before mania and that had to be scrapped. So sticking with the spirit of realism I’ll make a small change that is very realistic that could have made WrestleMania 13 a lot better.

Owen Hart & Davey Boy Smith defended the tag titles against Vader & Mankind. I don’t remember any story to this match and it just never worked for me. I think this tag match should have been broken into two singles matches with the partners being opponents. Let’s start with the challengers.

1997 was a very physical time in the WWF. The submission match between Bret Hart and Steve Austin and Chicago streetfight between the Nation of Domination and LOD & Ahmed Johnson were wild brawls that were a different style than what WWF was doing at the time. Vader vs. Mankind would have fit right in on this show. Vader had recently taken on Paul Bearer as a manager and a storyline could have easily been created where Mankind was jealous that he didn’t have Uncle Paul’s full attention anymore. These two could have put on a physical and brutal brawl. They already had a violent history with each other and I think they would have pulled out all the stops on wrestling’s biggest stage.

Now for the champs. Shortly before WM13 the WWF introduced the European Championship. A tournament was held to determine the first champion. The final match was Owen vs. Davey. It was a great match and a match of the year contender in my opinion. This match should have taken place at mania. WrestleMania would have been a great setting for the match considering it was the final to determine a new champion. It would have gone down as another mania classic. It would have been a nice blend to have this classic wrestling match in the middle of all the brawls that took place that night.

I really think this one simple change could have made a world of difference for WM13. The tag title match felt forced and didn’t have any meaning. The two singles matches would have been natural and both could have delivered. This would have taken one not so good match and turned it into two great matches.

I'll post my revamp for WM11 and WM18 a little later.

Hogan. The Undertaker vs. Ric Flair-The streak on the line.

So Ultimately my WM18 card would look like this:
Hollywood Hulk Hogan vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin
The Rock vs. Scott Hall
The Big Show vs. Kevin Nash
The Streak On The Line: The Undertaker vs. Ric Flair
World Heavyweight Championship Match-Triple H vs. Chris Jericho
Intercontinental Championship Match:Kurt Angle vs. "Mr. Perfect," Curt Henning

I like a lot about your card, but you leave off guys like Booker T and RVD (two major stars), Edge and Christian (two hometown boys), etc. but other than that, I enjoyed it. I also think Kevin Nash was injured at the time.

I would have had Booker T vs. RVD for the IC Title. I would also have had Edge and Christian remain team mates until the Royal Rumble, Christian stayed with the WWE during the Invasion angle but he thought about turning several times. Edge is receiving praise from WWE wrestlers for what he accomplished during the Invasion angle. Christian has had enough and turns on Edge. Setting up Edge vs. Christian in Toronto.

I would have The Rock vs. Kurt Angle. Kurt Angle is losing several matches, including the Royal Rumble attempt. Before the nWo arrive, Angle attacks Rocky saying that he was the real hero of the Invasion angle and the praise The Rock is getting is undeserved. I know, Rock-Angle has been done before but I think that with the Toronto crowd, they'd put on a good match. I would also put Hogan-Austin as the Main Event, because, while I usually have Title matches last, we saw what a match of that magnitude can do to the crowd.

So my card looks like:

Match of the Century:
Stone Cold vs. Hulk Hogan

Elimination Match - Womens Title:
Trish Stratus vs. Jazz (c) vs. Molly Holly vs. Lita

Undisputed Title:
Triple H vs. Chris Jericho (c)

Hardcore Match - Tag Titles:
Billy & Chuck (c) vs. Hardy Boyz vs. Dudley Boyz

Kurt Angle vs. The Rock

Tag Match (this is really a throw together match - it could even be Kane vs. X-Pac/Scott Hall or Kane/DDP vs. Scott Hall/Big Show/X-Pac, there's a few possibilities)
Kane/DDP vs. X-Pac/Scott Hall

No-DQ:
The Undertaker vs. Ric Flair

Edge vs. Christian

Intercontinental Title:
Booker T vs. Rob Van Dam

Here's my second version of the card with some changes to the originally proposed The Undertaker-Flair and Angle-Rock match. Essentially I change them up for Taker vs. Angle (think like their epic match at No Way Out) and Rock-Flair. If you've seen the 2-on-3 Tag Match at WrestleMania XX, you'll know just how entertaining the moments between Rock and Flair were). Leading to a one-on-one match. And Angle would still be a face but he's slowly heading heel (which is not for another few months). Angle's devestated at not becoming The Undisputed Champion, he's upset at losing The Royal Rumble and now he's become obessed with what's left for him to accomplish, beating The Streak. Obviously, the streak isn't as impressive as 18-0 but 9-0 as it was then, is still bloody impressive.

If you didn't notice, I made changes to the Women's match. Its now a Four-Way elimination bout, Lita going first, Molly (who has dropped the Mighty Molly gig) second and Jazz third.

I also put Hurricane in the match with Kane, instead of DDP. Obviously Kane would go on to tag with Hurricane later in the year, even winning the Tag Titles. Hurricane liked to think he was a Superhero. Why not have Kane beat Scott Hall on Raw, via DQ, thanks to interference from X-Pac and new recruit Big Show. A week later Kane calls all three out, they oblige and begin to beat him down. Hurricane comes out, tries to help and gets the crap beat out of him as well. Then the 3 members of the nWo challenge Kane and Hurricane, laughing as they do so.

Its missing one more match. Maybe something to do with Torrie Wilson and Stacy Keibler for 5 minutes at best, between Edge vs. Christian and Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle.

WrestleMania X-8 Version 2

9. Match of the Century:
Stone Cold vs. Hulk Hogan
Winner: Stone Cold

8. Elimination Match - Womens Title:
Trish Stratus vs. Jazz (c) vs. Molly Holly vs. Lita
Winner: Trish Stratus

7. Undisputed Title:
Triple H vs. Chris Jericho (c)
Winner: Triple H

6. Hardcore Match - Tag Titles:
Billy & Chuck (c) vs. Hardy Boyz vs. Dudley Boyz
Winner: Billy & Chuck

5. The Rock vs. Ric Flair
Winner: The Rock

4. Handicap 2-on-3 Tag Match:
Kane/Hurricane vs. Scott Hall/Big Show/X-Pac
Winner: Scott Hall/Big Show/X-Pac

3. No-DQ:
The Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle
Winner: The Undertaker

2. Edge vs. Christian
Winner: Christian

1. Intercontinental Title:
Booker T vs. Rob Van Dam (c)
Winner: Rob Van Dam

Dark Match:
DDP vs. Mr. Perfect

Don't you think if the Undertaker is in a match at mania regardless who he faces the streak is on the line. :banghead:

NO SHIT. That's why I put.:banghead:

Your right about Booker T, RVD, Edge, and Christian. My memory of what fueds were going on during this time was foggy. Another possible idea is:
Booker T and Goldust vs. Billy and Chuck-If I remember correctly Booker T and Goldust just began their tag team run together during this time frame.

Also DDP vs. RVD vs. Scott Hall for the IC Championship. Another possibility.

I did like your idea about The Rock vs. Kurt Angle. That would have made perfect sense following the Invasion Angle.:)

I would revamp WrestleMania 25 because it was just awful. this WrestleMania, in my opinino should have been bigger than WrestleMania 20 because the 25th anniversary is more important than the 20th in most cases. That being said, I would have made it 5 hours and had a super card. Also, I would have forced Batista to come back. Here it is:

United States Championship
MVP def. Vladimir Kozlov to become new champion

Money in the Bank Ladder Match
CM Punk def. R-Truth, Finlay, Shelton Benjamin, Mark Henry, Kofi Kingston, Santino Marella
and Umaga

Chris Jericho def. Rey Mysterio

WWE Unified Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match
Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase def. John Morrison & The Miz and Carlito & Primo to unify the World Tag Team Championship and WWE Tag Team Championship

Intercontinental Championship
Kane def. John “Bradshaw” Layfield to become new champion

Extreme Rules Match
Jeff Hardy def. Matt Hardy

ECW Championship Triple Threat Match
Tommy Dreamer def. Jack Swagger and Christian to become new champion

25 Diva Battle Royal (who cares Really?)

Edge def. Big Show (Vickie Guerrero was special guest referee)

World Heavyweight Championship
John Cena def. Batista to become new champion

The Undertaker def. Shawn Michaels

WWE Championship
Triple H def. Randy Orton to retain

In turn, WrestleMania 26 would look like this:

WrestleMania XXVI

Rey Mysterio def. CM Punk w/ Luke Gallows and Serena

Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Kane def. John Morrison, Dolph Ziggler, Shelton Benjamin, Carlito,
Matt Hardy, Drew McIntyre, Evan Bourne, R-Truth and Jack Swagger

United States Championship
Kofi Kingston def. Christian to retain

Batista def. Sheamus

WWE Unified Tag Team Championship Match
Big Show and The Miz def. MVP & Mark Henry to retain

Triple Threat Match
Randy Orton def. Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes

Women’s Championship vs. Diva’s Championship Lumberjill Match
Beth Phoenix def. Maryse

WWE Championship
Chris Jericho def. Edge to retain

No Holds Barred Match
Bret Hart def. Mr. McMahon

Retirement Match
Triple H def. Shawn Michaels

World Heavyweight Championship
The Undertaker def. John Cena to become new champion

Just my thoughts

Good stuff, guys.

The one Wrestlemania that really bugged me was Wrestlemania 7. I know, I know...we were in the middle of the Gulf War with patriotism at an all time high...so the idea of Slaughter/Hogan main event I will leave alone. The Warrior-Savage career ending match I won't touch either...except for that EXTREMELY weak ending, lol.

My problem with the show was what they did with the tag teams. Tag team wrestling has always been a favorite of mine...especially during this time with so many great teams. The problem was...they couldn't of matched them up any worse for Wrestlemania 7.

Weeks leading up to Mania they had a tag team battle royal with...get this: Demolition, Rockers, Orient Express, Bushwhackers, Power & Glory, the Nasty Boys and the Legion of Doom. Winner faces the Hart Foundation for the titles at Wrestlemania. Anyways...the WWF creative (geniuses that they are) booked the Nastys to win. That was the first mistake.

1.) What Happened:

Hart Foundation vs Nasty Boys (Championship). Nastys win and the Foundation is split up so Bret can go on to single stardom.

What SHOULD have happened:

Hart Foundation vs Legion Of Doom. Two of the greatest tag teams ever....and two face teams going at it for the titles. They were breaking up the Harts anyways...so why not end a classic tag match with the LOD going over clean?

2.) What Happened

Rockers vs Haku/Barbarian. Not a fan of either Haku and/or the Barbarian...the Rockers could have been booked to go over a much better team for their first and only Wrestlemania win. That team should have been Demolition.

What SHOULD have happened

Rockers vs Demolition (Smash and Crush)

Why in the world would the WWF have a legendary tag team such as Demolition job to Tenryu and Kitao. The WWF never had any plans to do anything with them! Rockers should have gone over clean against Demolition...it would have been a solid win for them, and a great opening match for Wrestlemania. Crush and Smash could then go on their single ways...one guy crushing craniums...the other guy repossessing cars. Whatever.

Don't worry...I won't leave out those poor Nasty Boys. How about a 6-man tag with the Nastys and The Mountie (all managed by Jimmy Hart) vs The Bushwhackers and Tito Santana. What the hell.

One other thing I would have changed about this show was the IC title match. I don't like Bossman anywhere near a title... I don't care how over he was with the crowd. I think it would have been a better fit to have Bulldog vs Perfect for the IC title instead of that musclefest they put him in with the Warlord.

The rest of the show was solid...and a decent Wrestlemania for that time.

Wrestlemania 7 was one of my favorites but a couple things could have been done to make it better...

First... After the Hart Foundation lost the titles that night to the Nasty Boys they both went into singles competition with no storyline to them breaking up. I believe if your gonna break up one of the best tag teams of all time there should be something to it. They should have had The Anvil turn on Bret and go back with Jimmy Hart as his manager. Anvil would of definitely gotten over as a heel especially under those circumstances.

Second... WM7 was Undertakers first WM. They had him beat Jimmy Snuka in a squash match. Instead of that they should of had him beat Andre the Giant. Andre was at the event but didnt wrestle and it was at the end of his career when he was any making random appearances. This would of been a great draw with big man vs big man. Although it would of been very slow paced and probaly a terrible match the fans would of loved it. Im sure Andre would not of minded puttin over one more future star before he left like he did for so many others.

Third... This was around the time WWF was doing a cross promotion thing with a Japanese promotion. Also it was around the time Crush took over as a full time member of Demolition with Axe leaving. They decided to have Demolition job to the Japanese wrestlers and break up not to long after. I believe they should not have given up on this version of Demolition so fast. Crush was very talented and could of given that tag team a new spark. They should have had Haku and Barbarian job for the Japanese wrestlers and let Demolition beat the Rockers who were on their way to breaking up eventually.

Over than that this was a great WM...Maybe the Greatest!!!

Since some people are giving their opinion on WM18 I'll throw my two cents in. This will be repetitive for those who have read some of my posts in the past, but here goes again.

I’ve always looked at WM18 as a good show. The hype, the atmosphere, and the crowd for Hogan vs. Rock made the show. Other than that it was decent, but showed a lack of effort. Some of the matches seemed better fit for a lesser show than mania. A little shuffling of the roster could have made this better. Here’s what should have happened.

The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan: I would leave this alone. I know it’s a popular opinion that Austin should have gotten Hogan instead. At the time I thought so too. Seeing the way this turned out I wouldn’t have changed it. The crowd reaction was so special and unique. I don’t think it would have been the same with Austin. He obviously always gets a reaction, but I think a lot of fans, maybe most, would have been behind Austin and we wouldn’t have gotten as good of a moment.

Steve Austin vs. Triple H: So Austin deserved better than Hall but shouldn’t have got Hogan. I think he should have walked into mania as champ and wrestled Triple H in the main event. The showdown they had when Triple H returned at the rumble was awesome. Also these two were a team with the two man power trip when HHH got hurt. Some think they should have main evented WM17. I think a year later with a little more history between them would have been a good time. Also since Austin would have been involved the crowd wouldn’t have been dead for the main event.

Rob Van Dam vs. Chris Jericho: This just seems like a good mania match. Jericho is a better opponent for RVD than Regal.

Edge vs. Kurt Angle: This is a much better match than what both guys actually got. I especially like the American Olympic gold medalist going against the hometown boy in Canada. They would start a feud and have some great matches immediately after mania so why not start it a little earlier?

Booker T & DDP vs. Hall & Nash: With the nwo invading the WWF who better than two top WCW stars to try to stop them? They knew first hand what kind of damage the nwo could cause and would want to stop them before they got started. Booker was going face soon anyway and this would have been a good way to turn him. It also would give DDP more credibility. Maybe they could include Big Show and X Pac and make it a six man.

These are some changes that I think would have made a better show. I don’t know what I would have done with Kane, Christian, or Regal, but the main part of the card is more important.

In hindsight this is a nice idea but it was just not plausible at the time. First of all Andre just couldn't go anymore. He was having a hard enough time getting to the ring for WM5. By the time WM7 rolled around he was done. Even if he did get in the ring to go through the motions this match would have been awful. He just didn't have it anymore. Also Taker was not a big enough name to go against Andre. That may sound strange now, but at WM7 Taker was just a new guy getting his start. That's why he got a no story filler match against Snuka. No one knew how successful Taker would become and obviously an undefeated streak was impossible to predict. Sure Andre's name on Taker's list of mania victims would look impressive but it just wasn't realistic for 1991. Besides Taker's victory over Snuka allowed him to steal Snuka's phenom nickname so at least there's some significance there.

Wrestlemania 9. It was a pretty terrible event although the Supertars on hand could of really made it a great show. Lets start off with the main event:

WWF Title - Bret Hart vs Hulk Hogan
We saw Yokozuna challenge and beat Bret Hart. Hogan came out after the bout and was called a "yellow belly" by Mr Fuji which gave us an extra match with Hogan squashing the new Champ and getting the title. This was all wrong. Hogan should of either won the belt previously and let Hart challenge before "passing the torch". Hogan wouldn't put Hart over because he knew his cards were marked as the "top star" of WWF. Sadly a match we never saw. WCW also dropped the ball on this one.

IC Title - Shawn Michaels vs Mr Perfect
Shawn faced Tatanka and Perfect faced Luger. I remember immediately after the match Perfect was attacked by Michaels. Did they ever have a match? Anyway, it was a WM worthy match and they should of faced off here. 2 odf the best athletes in the WWE at the time.

Tag Titles - Money Inc vs The Steiner Brothers
The Steiners were in a rubber match against The Headshrinkers and Money Inc were pitted against The Mega Maniacs. With Hogan in the main event, I would of brought forward The Steiner Brothers challenging Money Inc (they fought a couple of months later). The Steiners were the most athletic tag team at the time.

Undertaker vs Giant Gonzalez
A terrible match but had to take place. GG destroyed Taker at the Royal Rumble and we wanted answers!

Tatanka vs Lex Luger
I think at the time both of these were undefeated on Television. Luger had only been in the company 3/4 months but Tatanka was undefeated for a good year by this time (a feat ended by Ludvig Borga some months later). They could of had Luger go over (with the metal plate) and get the ball rolling on his character. Although he did beat Perfect anyway.

Crush vs Razor Ramon
Both these guys were pretty over at the time. They were both solid mid card guys, although Razor maybe a little higher. Similar size and stature, I always wanted to see these two face off when I was young. I actually think they did on one of them home videos WWF did. Another solid bout here the fans would have enjoyed. Doink and Backlund were both a joke nobody had any interest in.

Battle Royal - Winner gets Title Shot
There are a few Wrestlers who needed to be on the card. A 20 man Battle Royal with the winner getting a title shot would have being suffice. Yokozuna, Bam Bam, Kamala, Headshrinkers, Doink, Backlund, Shango, El Matador, Beefcake, Hacksaw etc etc. Yokozuna would of won this instead of RR 93 a few months earlier.

First, I would like to state that WrestleMania XIX is my favorite WM of all time and I would not change a thing. Next, I would like to revamp WrestleMania X8’s a bit.

Rikishi, Scotty 2 Hotty, and Albert vs. Val Venis, Lance Storm and Test
I would have replaced Mr. Perfect with Val Venis and include Val in the Un-Americans later that same year.

Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Perfect
As someone has said, this would have been Perfect, it’s True, IT’S DAMN TRUE!!

The NWO’s Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) vs. The WWF’s “Insiders” (Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Rock)
I don’t think Vince should have had Rock face Hogan in an Icon vs. Icon match just yet. I think that match should have been saved for WM XX. I think for WM X8, having the NWO face Austin and the Rock together could have worked out just as great and it could have been used to “properly” build on the NWO run in the WWE. I would not have mind Austin and Rock losing due to outside interference from 1-2-3-6-X-Kid-Pac. Then I would have Kane join the “Insiders” and clean house for the “feel good” moment at the end of that match.

The Undertaker vs. Edge vs. Booker T
The Undertaker’s streak had never been in jeopardy like this before. With Triple Threat Rules in place, Taker doesn’t even have to lose the match in order to end his WM streak.

The Icon of WCW, Ric Flair vs. the Icon of WWF, Hulk Hogan, with Vince McMahon as the Special Guest Referee
We finally get the dream WM match of a lifetime. Sure they did it so many times everywhere else, but never on the grandest stage of them all.

Royal Rumble Winner, Triple H vs. Undisputed WWF / WCW Champion, Chris Jericho vs. NWA Champion, Dan Severn
Had Vince thought about this, adding the “other” World Champion to crown “The” (pronounced “thee”) Undisputed Champion of the World would have been a nice touch. Triple H would have then become the Undisputed NWA / WWF / WCW Champion of Champions. This would have completely changed history if the WWE took “control” or formed some kind of Dream partnership with the National Wrestling Alliance before Total Non-Stop Action would have.

This may sound like an odd idea but I wanted the main event of WrestleMania 18 to be Undertaker vs Triple H vs Steve Austin.

I think that all three guys deserved to main event WrestleMania. Steve Austin had been the wrestler of the year for the WWF in 2001, Triple H had just made a huge return and Undertaker was playing a brilliant heel. In fact I feel that his Big Evil persona is a very underrated one. Austin could have walked in as champion. The obvious problem here is the streak as everyone wanted Triple H to win. But I would have still given the victory to Undertaker. It would have made him go over huge if he defeated two huge faces like Austin and HHH and it would have also been a nice swerve as everybody expected HHH to win. Also the match had enough starpower to ensure that it would not be a forgotten affair after the Rock vs Hogan match.

That leaves out Chris Jericho and Ric Flair and I think that they could have easily had a match with each other with Jericho bragging about his achievement of beating Rock and Austin on the same night and Flair retorting that one fluke victory does not make him the greatest wrestler of all time. I would have liked to see a good 15 minute technical match up than see Ric Flair doing that sick bladejob that he did against Undertaker.

I'd like to revamp a few matches from select mania's...but I don't know if allowed...

so I'll redo mania 22...

I would have waited for Takers return at the Rumble and make him do it at NO Way Out...thus changing a few matches...

World Heavyweight Championship
Randy Orton v. Rey Mysterio (At No Way Out, have Angle v. Orton having Taker return and cost Angle the belt as he would be distracted by a huge gong going off)
WINNER- Rey (send the kids home happy)

Kurt Angle v. Undertaker (see above)
WINNER- TAKER

WWE Championship Hell in a Cell (have Edge retain at the Rumble)
Edge v. John Cena
Winner - Cena
I know this feud was played out in 2006 but Edge should've had the title longer than 3 weeks

the RETURN OF DX
HBK and HHH V. Shane and Vince McMahon (Stone Cold special ref as he has history with both teams)
WINNERS- DX
Again a story line built up later in the year, but the DX first ever original return should've been on the grand stage...not Vengeance

Chris Benoit v. Booker T (United states title match) Feud was ongoing as Orton won the title for Booker and then booker lost it back to benoit
Winner - Benoit

MITB
Shelton Benjamin v. Matt Hardy v. Carlito v. RVD v. Kane v. Big Show
WINNER - RVD...keep the storyline the same and cash in at One Night Stand

Belfast Brawl/Interpromotional match
Finley v. Ric Flair
WINNER- The Nature Boy

Keep the Mickie James v. Trish story and match

Mark Henry v. Bobby lashley (Just a filler, a story could start over whose the more dominant Smackdown superstar...
WINNER- Lashley

Hardcore Match
Mick Foley v. JBL (a feud could start with JBL bashing ECW like he did around the first One Night Stand and Foley coming out to defend his origins
WINNER- JBL

If ya'll don't object, I'd like to redo Wrestlemania 23 as well....

MITB
Shelton Benjamin v. Jeff Hardy v. King Booker v. CM Punk v. Mr. Kennedy v. Kenny Dykstra v. John Morrison v. Charlie Haas
WINNER - Kennedy

Grudge Match
Randy Orton v. Edge (these too just broke up as Rated RKO and would put on a clinic)
Winner - Orton (he needed a bit of a push from here)

Ric Flair v. Carlito (these two would feud after mania but I thought it'd be great to see this happen at Mania)
Winner- Carlito (Promote this as new school vs. old school/Student vs Teacher)

Interpromotional Match
Chris Benoit v. Shawn Michaels (Simply raw v. Smackdown, would be a classic)
Winner - Shawn Michaels

WWE Championship Match
Undertaker v. John Cena (instead of choosing Batista, Taker chooses Cena
Winner- Taker

World Heavyweight Title match
Batista v. Kane
Winner - Batista

United States Title
MVP v. Matt Hardy(just start their feud earlier)
Winner - MVP

Keep the McMahon/Trump Match
and the ECW originals v. New Breed, but make it an elimination match
