Your most fond wrestling moment in the last 5 years.

Hands-down Randy Orton is my favorite wrestler since the departure of Shawn Michaels, and so probably my favorite moment was the "I Quit" match in the Cena-Orton rivalry. In terms if single moments it was the RKO to Evan Bourne in the middle of Airbourne. I dont know how much you have to practice that to time it right, but that was (and is) the most skilled thing ive ever seen in the last 5 years. As for outside of that, however it was Shane's leg drop off the Titantron at Backlash '01. Thats just insane.

I hate to jump on a bandwagon, but I have to also go with Bret The Hitman Hart's return. Specifically, if you want an exact moment, it would actually have been his second appearance after his return, the Raw the night after the 2010 Royal Rumble, as I was there. I hadn't planned on going to that Raw, but as soon as they announced Bret would be there in Nashville I bought a ticket, as I never thought I would get a chance to see the Hitman in person again, as he is my all time favorite wrestler. (Plus that was the same night William Shatner was the guest host, which I have to admit also influenced my decision to go).

Just something about a promo -during- the royal rumble amazing me, can't really figure out why. Besides, I'm straight edge and like being an ass like Heel Punk is sometimes to people I dislike ;o

Although this is juuuust outside the 5 year boundary of this thread, I am going to post it anyway, as it was a moment I loved.

It was great to see Raven fulfil his destiny FINALLY and claim the NWA World Heavyweight Title in the King of The Mountain match at TNA Slammiversary 2005, after several years of falling just short.

He had been ona quest to claim the belt ever since making his debut in the early days of TNA, had failed to win the KOTM match the year before and never quite been able to pin Jarrett for the belt, after working his way through Father James Mitchell and his New Church stable, Dusty Rhodes and anyone else who had got in his way.

As a huge Raven fan, it was awesome to see him once again holding a World Title, admittedly only for a short time....but to see the arms outstretched crucifix pose at the top of the ladder, Raven covered in blood clutching the NWA World Title was a special moment, and well deserved for a man who had earned it.

Here is the full match

my fav 2006-2011
-RVD over Cena ONS. truely epic, rabid crowd. went down the only way it could
-Bret returning to wwe. never ever thought it would happen. unforgettable. if him and
shawn in the ring together didnt have ur undivided attention..
nothing will.
-taker/hbk WM25- may go down as best WM match ever. the rematch was damn good. but it
cant touch this.
#1 best moment past 5 yrs- nexus' 1st appearance destroying cena and the set. it takes
ALOT to shock this jaded, old school fan, and by god this
DID! granted they ruined it in the coming weeks. but this
legit shocked me. my jaw was on the floor. i immediately
touched base w/ all my friends. and felt excitement 4 the
biz i hadnt felt in along time. ..alas it was short lived. but
ill never forget that particular nite on raw.

I do not understand why this thread is even in old school, when the time period is from now to five years ago. That is not even remotely old school.
But, since you guys are using five years ago as the cut off, and none of you seem to realize there is wrestling outside of WWE, I will say two events in WWE have excited me in the last five years. And only two. The appearance of Matt sydal/Evan Bourne is the first.
The return of Bryan danielson/Daniel Bryant is the other.

This thread was placed in the old school section because the original poster is asking people to cover a 5 year period of time, and events that happened 4-5 years ago are not relevant in the WWE section of these boards. It isn't reallllly old school, and many posters are choosing things from the last year- but it is in the right section.

If people believe that their favourite moment happened in the last year, then what is the problem? Anything can be selected from the last 5 years in any organisation. I personally picked Bret Harts return to Raw as it was a huge moment, and also Raven winning the NWA Title in TNA in 2005 (yeah I know outside the 5 year period but only just).

If my favourite moment was in ROH, or CZW, or any other company then I would have chosen that. But they were not. That doesnt stop you choosing your favourite moment from those companies

I would have preferred the thread to cover a longer time period, as 5 years ago isnt that long, but that was the timeline given to us. If you don't like it....why not make a thread of your own covering a longer time period, I would post in it for sure.

I was born in 1991, after the golden era of both of the men in this video. BUT, I grew up on storys of Junkyard Dog, Sgt. Slaughter, Koko Beware, and all the old wrestlers. My Mom was excited that I was along with her a large wrestling fan, but would allways rib me and tell me stories about how wrestling was better back then. Well I had a small job in 2008 and got the RR on ppv, that took my mom back to the point of being a total mark. When Snuka came out she laughed, and then it came... Her favorite wrestler of all time, Hot rod Rowdie Roddie Piper. My mom I can remember actually said Oh shit and had the biggest grin on her face. It was sweet having a WWE moment with my mom, because over all the storys she has told me over the years I can agree with her. But I never got to share that moment with her. My mom instantly knew the music and called it before I could even look up, Pipers in the rumble, we had a pretty good time.

Seeing Jericho come out to his music, give us his catchphrases in typical Y2J fashion like he had never left was definately my most fond moment of the last 5 years.

That's definitely up there for me. Jericho screaming "Welcome to Raw... is... Jerichoooo!" such an electric moment.

But for me, my most fondest memory was as I sat down to watch WrestleMania 26 last year. The card had the most potential I'd seen in a long time, which is why the event was so disappointing. But before it could even start, the opening video package gave me the most intense sustained goosebumps.

The dramatic score, the fantastic script, the unforgettable highlights. The video was pure magic. I will never forget the line "Fleeting flashes of brilliance."
I absolutely love the video packages the WWE do, for the most part, and they're one of the more exciting things when watching PPVs and big matches. This one is my all time favourites, I instantly fell in love with it. I can just remember thinking how epic the video was and how pumped it got me to watch some wrestling more than anything could since I started watching when I was 5.

That video, to me, IS WrestleMania.

Nothing really sticks out in my mind, especially if you won't let me pick The Rock's return from last week. I guess I'll have to go with this:

It was so cool not only to have The Dragon back in the ring, but to see that not only was he still pretty good inside the squared circle [for God's sake, th man can still skin the cat, and he did a spring board to the outside!], but that the days of the Old School were still important and not forgotten. I love Jericho as a heel and I loved the whole anti-legend angle he was working at the time. I would pay top dollar to see both of these guys go at it in their prime.

Personally, I don't find as much enjoyment in wrestling as much as I did when I was a kid. And this moment, amongst a handful of other "old school" moments really meant something special for me.
