Your last stand?

At this point, there is probably nothing that could make me quit watching WWE forever. I have been a fan for over 20+ years. I've seen some very idiotic things over the years, but when something has been a part of your life for nearly your entire life, it's very hard to abandon said hobby unless a severe reason comes up. There have been two times when I came very close to giving up my fandom. The first was during the time that Undertaker was the biker character. The second was Miz as WWE Champion defending the belt against Jerry Lawler on PPV. A distant third place goes to fall of 2009 when the abomination known as the Guest Host Concept was in full effect each week.

I used to say that if Miz ever ended Undertaker's streak in a match where the WWE Championship was also on the line winning with a similar fashion to the Fingerpoke of Doom, that would be what it would take. Brock Lesnar ended the streak so this is obviously never going to happen. Miz as WWE Champion again feuding with Hornswoggle might make me consider, but I have been through so much over the years as a fan. There's really nothing they can do at this point that would make me boycott WWE. I enjoy the product too much. TNA, on the other hand, has lost me for probably forever with their making Eric Young a World Champion. Then again, I wasn't a fan of theirs for even half as long as I was a WWE fan. The longer you are loyal to a brand of entertainment, the more likely you are to stick around as a fan.

I take breaks from watching current stuff to avoid burnout, because of general boredom, or because I have other things to watch, but I don't think I'd give it up forever. The only time I deliberately stopped watching because of one particular thing the show did was the Katie Vick thing. But I was getting burnt out by that point anyway, and think it was just the last straw. I still kept up with the show and a few months later started watching again.

I have watched and taken extended breaks since the mid 80's I always get bored or turned off by something and just decide to spend time doing something else. I have gotten back in to it in the last 6 months but they were dangerously close to losing me after the Rumble this year, actually the Shield vs. Wyatts were the only reason I stuck around and they did a good enough job to keep me as a customer and even get 6 months of network out of me.

With that said the only thing I can think of that will make me say goodbye right now is a rehash of the David Arquette WHC scenario from WCW with some other actor, maybe someone like Aaron Paul or some other B actor coming in a winning the title, that would do it for me.

This is a good question because people always say that they are going to stop watching. I know personally a few people that have but for whatever reason I have continued watching almost nonstop since about 1991. Through all of the ups and down. I have even purchased a subscription to the network.

Sure, there have been a few weeks that I have missed due to other stuff going on but I don't think I've ever had a multiple month break. It makes me wonder if there is such a thing that could happen. It wouldn't be because I'm offended by something since I made it through the entire Attitude era and it wouldn't be because of crazy characters like Doink the Clown. I almost think that it would have to be something like the storylines are so boring or the wrestlers are just all really bad. But that never seems to happen on a complete scale.

I think I'm a lifer.

I stopped watching from about 2002 until about 2010...those were some of the worst years the wwe had. If I came back after that, I don't think I could ever be chased away.

From the time I started watching wrestling, to today, I've never "given up" on it. My interest waned during certain periods, but I always kept up with it.

I don't think I've ever missed more than 3 consecutive weeks of RAW, and that probably has only happened a few times. (I don't mean watching the whole show, often times I'd be more focused on MNF depending on the game)

It's hard for me to say what could happen that would make me stop watching since nothing has done that yet.
